  1. I was shocked that there were not many posts by other Indianapolis area high schools. So I wanted to put another out there. Here is the all-time best at Warren Central High School.

    103 - John Lloyd ( State Champ)

    112 -  Scott Ellis (State Champ @105, 3rd@105)

    119 - Cordney Satterfield (7th place@ 119 94')

    125 - Jesse Bender (4th and State Q)

    130 - William Campbell (2x runner-up, 7th)

    135 - Danny Williams (2x champ, 3rd)

    140 - Rob Walke ( State Champ, 2x State Q)

145 - Jimmy Perry ( State Q, would have won state in 2000, but lost to Mitch Napeir 2-1)

    152 - Eddie Baxter (3rd and State Q)

    160 - Joe Kern (6th)

    171 - Ricky Bacon (2x runner-up)

    189 - Richard Clevenger ( runner-up, and State Q)

    215 - Alan Buckly (State Q)

    285 - Jason Czap ( 3rd@ HWT)

Some spots had to modified, but the wrestler that I had picked wrestled at that weight at one point in their career.

?No more points unless their yours" - Schro Dog

How about David Bridgeforth and Darrin Duncan?

Good call on Bridgeforth and Duncan.

I'd add Paul Robinson at 160 (2 x SS champ) and Brian Cook at 119.  I believe Brian was 3rd in '91.  Also, maybe put Puckett in at 140 and bump Rob to 145.  Didn't Rob qualify three times?

There has to be some others from Coach Morgan's teams.  That was a little before my time but maybe someone else can add to the list.

  2. By your standards, no-one would ever be guilty of anything in this country as it is impossible to get inside someone?s brain to find out what they were thinking. What i can do is look at the situation, and figure it out.

seems like you compared it to a criminal court case to begin with... not me.. all i did was refute the fact that before i point a finger at a kid I am going to have to be 100 percent sure he did something wrong. Seems to me like that is a hard thing to do. Last I heard, the Reinoehl family had the purchase of the new house pending the sale of the old house and that the IHSAA said it was ok at first, but now they are unhappy that such transactions have not taken place. With the housing markets the way they are at this point it seems highly likely that they would be having a hard time to sell their house, as I have known a couple people trying to sell in this market and they are not even getting people to come look at their house. So in my mind, it sounds like both stories are probable, and it sounds like the father's story carries alot of weight.

Most school disticts in Indiana require proof of residence in order to enroll. In order to show proof of residence, you have to show that you have purchased a home or rent in the district, not intend to purchase one.

Someone else mentioned him living with his grandmother earlier in this thread.  If so, have his parents given up parental rights?

  3. this is probably my favorite:  in 1990, at 189 the 3/4th place match was a rematch of the previous years finals.  jason greer of princeton pinned dan wicliffe of muncie southside.  the previous year in the finals greer pulled out a close 9-8 dec.  greer went on to win state for a second time the following year, he had one loss that year.

In 1990, I thought Wickliffe lost to Locke of Delta in the finals at 189?  Also, earlier that year, Tim Clark of Beech Grove beat Greer and Locke in the same day at the Greenwood Holiday Classic but ended up losing to Wickliffe Friday night at MSA.

  4. Weird because wrestling paid for my schooling at a major university....and Ian Hintons...and Alex Dolly....and most recently Josh Harper and Steve Sandefer.....

Good for you guys.  My point was simply that with only 9.? scholarships to hand out at the DI level, most college wrestlers have to find other ways to help pay for their schooling whether it be need based aid, academic scholarships, student loans or mom and dad.

Oscar, does this help my awareness level or should I keep working on it?

  5. Pin2Win I definately agree with you....This goes further than sport...This was going to be Trents breakout season...he lost to Roach last year by 1 or 2 in the round to go and he was constantly building off of that looking to win a title this year...But getting that title meant more to him than just sport...it was his way to a good education and a good degree...Now his parents are most likely going to have to pay for his schooling instead of him picking up a scholarship this year like I KNOW he would've.

Let's be honest, wrestling doesn't pay for too many people's education.  Even if he does win a state title this year, he is still going to have to pay for a college education.  Next, I've been in education a long time and I don't recall any good kids who have had problems with the administration.

I just think it's funny that everyone points the finger at EMD every year for recruiting but when another school gets caught breaking the rules, people want to claim "let the kid wrestle" or "people need to mind their own business."
