This was posted by jason bryant on awn/tom...
Understand it was passed at the State Leaders Summit last week in Colorado Springs.
So gone are now the days of intricate and unpredictable vertical pairing. I liked it for many reasons, but from a promotion and marketing perspective, it's a nightmare.
First-round losers now face other first-round losers. Marketable rounds and probably a shorter tournament. Round of 32, 16 and Quarters will be awesome.
I'll miss the great stories of a first-round loser coming back to win the tournament ... but brackets are coming

whoops...for some reason I thought Lawrence was an Indiana kid.....just saw his hometown is from Ohio.

My question is this... have the Boilers ever fielded an entire starting line up of Indiana talent before?
-
That will be interesting seeing roach, nelsen and tsirtsis going at it at 149 this season.
-
As is purdue's line up. All hoosiers are projected starters...has that ever happened before?
-
From what I've read from a different post, he is staying at MD
Yea i saw that as well...this was more recent then the post saying he was going to MD.
I hope he wrestles in hs...he is an incredible talent. Heck even Cejudo wrestled in hs and he did ok on the international stage.
I did hear that Kyle Snyder isnt wrestling in hs during his senior year but that isnt really surprising because i cant imagine what experience he will gain doing that.
-
Is he really going to wrestle in hs? I had heard a rumor he might be going to concentrate on fs under Miron.
-
What about Knox before big tens?
-
Let's get ready to battle at Midlands! by wrestling Manchester...
Didnt that dual knock out two starters due to injury last season?
Sucks that they forfeited 197 for the reast of the season....did they ever recruit another 197?
-
Yeah whats up? Steveson is not at apple valley now?
He will still be attending AV this year
-
Only one's we have is Roach and Molloy
Raley has some skills as well
-
They were a bit apart in weight werent they? Wasnt Fried 140 as a senior and Lance 119?
-
Well, I'm currently reading this thread..lol
Haha....who are you and what are you doing for a living currently?
-
Well this thread went over like a lead balloon.
-
If you are privy to what an Indiana State Wrestling Champ's career is would you fill us in?
-
My post was in response to remarks made that jason would be a multi time champ and that his result against maple reinforced that....i simply just mentioned a very similar match by his bro.
Believe me i hope jason is a national champ....i am impressed by him so much i used a fantasy pick on him last year knowing that he was rs and that my only points would come from midlands....hah
-
Didnt alex lose to nate gallick as a true frosh.
..the score was close if i recall and that had the iowa faithful salivating over what the future held.

Nick Lee should be the favorite at 120, 126 or 132. Not sure where he will end up. He is that good.
Is he the next big thing or something...I mean seriously what has he done on the mat?
I kid I kid

Huge win!

Quick update I just received a call from Mike McCarthy with an explanation and an apology. We were missed because our son is quiet and didn't complain. Thanks to Mike and the coaching staff that put in the time and work to get this team to Fargo and all the extra they have to do while there! One coaches stupid move should not make us condemn the entire coaching staff these guys bust their tails so our kids can compete at this level!
Believe me...my intent was not to condemn the entire staff at all...it was a direct inquiry towards one coach in particular....at this level the staff should be able to trust one another to make responsible decisions. Without a doubt I believe the rest of the staff and others were disgusted by the behavior exhibited.
-
Just a quick FYI as a parent of one of the boys I was only made aware of the situation by my son. No one from ISWA or the coaching staff contacted me about the "situation" before I got to, while I was at, or since I have returned from Fargo.
Iamamoto...I was surprised to read that because I am sure several of the parents were contacted by the staff in regards to this matter in an apology.

Another couple of classic "we don't want to spread any rumors" posts that actually make the rumors worse by not specifying what allegedly happened. Why even bring it up in the first place?
I brought It up because I did hear it from one person (and wanted to verify it)....then heard it from another...then I heard more info that substantiated the "rumor". It is serious enough that I would not want the coach representing any ISWA sanctioned team or trusting that individual with my child...while it does appear a bit vague....I wanted to make sure it isn't going to get swept under the rug....and from Y2's posts and others that have message me it doesn't appear it will be.
changes for fargo
