Are people really so dense to think that this guy was actually trying to make a case that he should have his money refunded to him? He was clearly trying to make a point that flew WAY over most f your heads. If you want to grow the sport of wrestling or even keep it as a recognized sport at this level then you need fans outside of just mommy and daddy cheering on little Johnny. What's the best way to get fans? Put out a quality product and actually have your best matches. I applaud you for starting this topic and I can't believe how much flack you have taken for it. I really think that this is a legitimate concern for the sport and if you are going to hype matches up the way that the people who are promoting the sport do, then these matches need to happen or else you may lose some fans and you certainly won't gain any new ones.

Dates are already set for next year but the following and the next several should't interfere with the holiday. It was just a question and a thought.

Have there been any thoughts to making this a Friday-Saturday tournament so that some of us 9-5ers could make the second day?
-
That is because no one is bashing the kid and if it did appear as if they were, the offender has cleared up the misunderstanding. At this point to claim that someone is trying to bash the kid is trying to make something out of nothing, that is why there are deaf ears.
What is this?!?... a little common sense. I don't believe it. This is not pointed at you Karl, more a poke at the general population.

Let me qualify this by saying that Rankings Guy had fantastic career and that he has had far more success than most if not all of us had on the mat (me included as I was lucky to be considered average). Top 20 all time may be stretching it though. Here are 20 guys in the last 10 years who are at least comparable.
Alex Tsirtsis
Jason Tsirtsis
Blake Maurer
Angel Escobedo
Andrew Howe
Reese Humphrey
Josh Harper
Sean Macmurray
Matt Coughlin
Jake O?Brien
Frankie Porras
Eric Galka
Ian Hinton
Andre Hernandez
Eric Roach
Brandon Wright
Cody Phillips
Craig Weinzapfel
Dexter Larimore
Brennan Cosgrove
Cashe' Qurioga
Camden Eppert

What happened to Keith Knura that he fell all of the way out of the rankings. Were't some people lobying for him to be number 1 a couple weeks ago?
-
I don't want this to come across as greedy and ungrateful as I realize the hard work that goes into the rankings process and if it would be very difficult to do, it is probably not worth it, but I think it would be helpful to have a "previous ranking" column added to show the change from one set of rankings to the next.
-
yes its very hard to go against that. Who was Jason's losses to, I thought 1 was to BWright ? The Bradley's I think are a good brother combo, and of course the Ellis's
Had a loss to Cashe and a loss to Anthony Napalus (sp) from M-Ville

Porras started CB and won state twice.
-
Alex Ramos 2x Champ, 1x placer (4th I think)
Eric Galka 2x Champ, 1x 2nd, 1x sq
Brennan Cosgrove 1x champ, 2x 2nd, 1x 3rd
Frankie Porras 2x champ, 1x 2nd, 1x sq

"Regarding weigh-ins, previously both male and female contestants had to weigh in wearing ?no more than a suitable undergarment.? Beginning next year, specific language has been added regarding what constitutes a ?suitable undergarment.? Male and female contestants will be required to wear a suitable undergarment that completely covers the buttocks and the groin area. In addition, for female contestants the suitable undergarment must also cover the breasts.
Bob Colgate, assistant director of the NFHS and committee liaison, said the change was made to consider privacy issues for all individuals involved with weigh-ins."
The way I read it you can still weigh in naked, but if you choose to wear anything, it must follow the guidelines listed above.

i was just wondering if the board would allow a slight change in the wahoo/boo rule for duck and run?
if at all possible could we not have to wait a whole hour in between boos?

I tried this once before...

Keith Knura from Franlin at 215 was a sophomore and he was standing 4th on the podium behind 3 seniors with 4 losses between those 3 and Keith had more than 10! Watch out next year for this kid!
This class is impressive...but we had another impressive class finish their careers at Canseco this weekend as well.
McMurray 3x champ and 7th
Wright 2x champ 2x runner up
Porras 2x champ, runner up, sq
Duckworth 1x champ 2x runner up
Nelson 4x in the top four with a championship
Bennett 2x finals appearance and 1x champ
Some pretty special talant there as well

I think a state championship is something special and like to hear how hard an individual worked and all the other variables that contributed to such a great season. Nothing funny about it.
Ok ;D
-
What is wrong with wanting to know the details of a historic and memorable state championship run?
I don't mind it (I actually think it's funny).
-
Congrats on your state championship, great posters with such a long history of success are what make this board so great. Can you give us all details of your championship run?
There is a fine line between sarcasm and arrogance... and there it went.
-
How many people ususally attend this event...Planning on going for the first time this year and I wanted to see if I needed to arrive early to get a good seat.
-
Some interviews with the champs after their matches and a pretty good summary.
-
I wasn't asked to participate..
That's a shame... it seems that we should be trying to get our best wrestlers on the mat...
I'm sure you will handle your business at the IN/IL all star duel.
-
Why aren't Hawkins or McMurray wrestling? Something to do with their scholarships?

Cashe only won one state title. While the arguement could be made, i went with people who's numbers supported the claim.
