1oldwrestler,
ARE YOU KIDDING? You state, given the choice, you'd rather your kid be like CP (ie state champion) than the "finest gentleman in the world." I don't believe they're mutually exclusive, but if they were, I sure hope most people disagree with you. I can't imagine telling my kid, "Just win a state championship! That's more important than being a gentleman." I teach my kid both should be his goal, but if one quality stays with him for life, it better be the 'gentleman attribute.' That will benefit him a lot more later in life than telling people when he's 40 that he was a state champ back when.

What determines the All-State status? The GPA's listed vary greatly. Are all the Honorable Mention students' GPA's lower than the All-State students? I'm just curious, too, if anything else goes into the selection, ie., faculty recommendation, volunteerism or their wrestling record? Sorry for all the questions, but this is a tremendous honor and our school doesn't seem to know anything about it. I've asked. Thank you.

I noticed Kepner at 189 is ranked in the state rankings, but is below unranked Kaufman from Rensselaer in the semi-state rankings. Kepner just won the Al Smith. Rensselaer wrestles this Thursday at BC. Is this just an oversight or is there a reason a kid could be above in one ranking and lower in another? Do the same people do both the rankings? (state and semi-state)

Will the brackets be posted on track wrestling late tonight, after weigh-ins? I'm sure bracketing will be done tonight since wrestling begins at 8am. Some state and national tournaments, like Border Wars Nationals, post the brackets the night before. We're new at this, so just wondering. Thank you.
