I'm suprised that he's ranked that high. He is a big talent. I've seen him wrestle on several occasions. Of the guys I've seen that are ranked there, I don't see him ranked ahead of Short or Brill. JMO. And while he may be in 8th grade he's been held back at least once, maybe twice in school and he has the physical maturity of a 17-20 yr old. So let's see how this pans out in the next few years when some of the others start to reach his level of maturity.
Kid is very good and has improved a lot from this time last year till now. He did beat Short this year in a close match (3-2) I think. Will be interesting to see what weight he will end up being by Jr and Sr year. 8th grade and ranked 3rd in the nation at one of the toughest, deepest weight classes is amazing. He had a couple losses in Tsirtsis weight class at Flonationals last year, but this year went undefeated in Minn and beat some really good wrestlers.

Wow Jackson vs. Silvestro/ McKinley vs. Richards/ Klimara vs. Ayeserman/ McMurtry vs. Harvey/ Dechow vs Lynde (Dechow beat Sliga last year at Central Regionals 1-0, 1-0)
Mayes is very tough as well
There will be a lot of good matches. Illinois is sending a tough team
-
I'll take Jackson in that one.
It will be a good match, but I think Jackson wins as well. Now Jackson and Silvestro would be a great match as well.
-
Langenderfer and Jackson would be a really good match.

Tsirtsis won 19-3 last year at Stagg and 15-3 at Scholastic duals last summer (Moylan did get a takedown to start that match). That being said Moylan who is from palos and goes to Stagg has really improved and beat Brill at top 7 guy in the nation at Illinois state. Will be a good match especially since they have seen each other a lot. Still like Tsirtsis

Looks like Indiana is going to be sending a strong team. Do you have a lineup for Illinois yet?
-
Somebody let me know what happened. I watched it on the web and what I got out of it is: Robinson got a takedown and rode him for a little bit and when he tried to return him to the mat the refs declared it an illegal slam? Boehm could not continue after the 2 minutes looked like it was his shoulder or ribs?
So Boehm should have won, but decided he could not compete the rest of the day and gave the match to Robinson, correct? If this is true I give a lot of credit to Boehm and his coaches. Or was not illegal and Robinson won because he could not continue? I am sure this has been discussed but maybe I missed it. Any clarification is appreciated.

Whitford is a great wrestler and can be sloppy at times, but he has such big moves and can pin from anywhere. Very dangerous. At super 32 he was on that day. He has had some puzzling losses over the last two years, but he has had some big score wins on quality opponents. I think Tsirtsis matches up well with him and would beat him but it would be a great match. Maybe fargo this year if Jason wrestles Fargo this year?? I think Whitford will be 149 in college. Not sure about Jason but would guess 141 or 149.

#1 Whitford vs. #2 Morse in the team state finals yesterday in Michigan. They should meet again next week at individual state. Whitford is ranked number 2 behind Tsirtsis in most polls. Would love to see a Whitford vs. Tsirtsis matchup. Whitford always goes for big moves fun to watch. Michigan still uses the old weight classes that is why it is at 140.
This was a good match
-
Wow! They are really good. Congrats. I would love to see them against some of the top 10 teams in the nation. They don't have any holes in that lineup. Even the match they lost at 120 could have went either way. Tough team, I think they were better than Mishawaka a couple of years ago. MD 03 or 04 against this team would have been fun to watch.

Broadcast site does not work for me in google chrome fyi...so if your having trouble switch to firefox
It came up. Thanks

Once again www.broadcastsport.net will come to the rescue. They plan on running 4 separate VIDEO streams covering each of the first 84 matches.
As always they can't provide video during the last 14 matches, but 75% of the contestants' fans won't care because they wouldn't get a chance to see their favorite wrestler compete any other way.
Still looking for someone from the Mater Dei community to join the broadcast crew to add some local input.
Thank You! Really enjoy what you all do. Free video for those of us that live out of state is nice.

Corasaro didn't wrestleagainst CP at the Traicoff. 145 was forfeitedto CP and
Fuqua beat Haas 3-2.
Thanks did not know that. On the rankings all year it stated that Corasaro lost to Fuqua. That is what I was going on.
Cathedral is like whole different team than the last time these two teams met. Should be really close and will be interesting on who has to report first
-
i think that takes away two wins for CP
You could be right I have not seen how they match-up with that line up. What are the two wins that are taken away? I am assuming if Tsirtsis goes 145, Corsaro goes 152? And if Tsirtsis goes 152, Corsaro goes 145?
-
i think that Cp should be favored against Cathedral
I see CP being favored at 113 120 126 132 145 152 195 220
Cath favored 138 160 170 285
with swing matches being 106 182
It will be interesting if Cathedral beats Penn and goes against CP on what both teams do 145-160.
I think Fuqua beat Corsaro earlier in the year. I am assuming we won't see Tsirtsis vs. Carsaro?? Blue at 145, Tsirtsis at 152, Fuqua at 160 and Shurg at 170 is probably the best lineup for CP

ihsaatv.org show webcast starting at 12:00. Are they diong semi finals ? broadcastsport is painful to watch and listen to most of the time...
Broadcastsports- Thank you for the webcast. This is much better than no broadcast at all. I live out of state and am glad you guys take the time to do this. Thank you!

Other than the elite guys (minus n boston), i was impressed with the 160 lb freshman from m-ville.
[/quote. strvenson is tough only loss is tsirtsis by major
-
James is pretty good, Phillips, LaHue. IMO Brooks isn't going to walk thru this to the podium.
Have you seen Brooks wrestle this year? Yes he will, he is #1 in the Nation for reason.
But anything can happen, but don't see it. He will major/tech or pin everybody he sees IMO.

Tough tournament and Howe places 2nd.

WIN Soslan Tigiev (Uzbekistan), 1-1, 3-0
LOSS Aleksandr Gostiyev (Azerbaijan), 0-1, 0-1

Eric Douglass from Valpo is one of the best he lost to Cameron Smith from Ben Davis two years in a row. Went on to AA at Purdue.
Devon Jackson is pretty tough, super 32 runner up.
Bill Hawkins From Crown Point
-
Griffin is tough. But Jackson is on a whole different level. Jackson wins this match by a wide margin. Reminds last year when people were saying Montgomery could hang or even beat Tsirtsis. Griffen is good but Jackson is really good.

Mavros/Manspeaker
Fuqua/Garcia
Fuqua/Brown
Reagan/Kral
CP got some to ones but if they can pull them off it give them a lot of momentum and confidence going into the next couple of weeks. I think Mavros will win
Dapper Dan-Tsirtsis

Here is a video of his likely opponent. Minotti is third in the nation. Lydic is also nationally ranked, I think Tsirtsis beat Lydic as well at Flonationals last year.
Minotti is really tough and is extremely good on top. Tsirtsis and Minotti will be a great match if it happens at Dapper Dan.
