  1. Connersville Wednesday practice is a regional training center. We open the doors to any USA card holder who wants to improve their technique. Myself and Richmonds coach Bane pride ourself in trying to improve the area, not just our own kids. The last 4 yrs we have offered this information about what and when we are doing on the off season. The results have spoke for themselves. 99% of those wrestlers that worked with us are still in the state tourney. With all that said, one of the best parts is the relationships built between the kids!!

  2. What a bunch of back seat drivers!!

Great job to south Dearborn and their team.

The state tourney is individual, and is about surviving and moving on. If u can advance a wrestler by going thru the conso's then why not? All coaches do the seeding, so now that's unfair too?

3 times I have done this same thing. All 3 times the wrestlers advanced to regional( 1 went to semi state)!! A smart coach can read a bracket a lot better then some of u Monday morning quarterbacks. Those wrestlers( adults now)still tell me how cool it was they were able to advance because of seeding and cross bracket loses.

  3. Congrats to all wrestlers tonite. How u won your matches and beat all the terrible calls, u should get an extra win on your record! I would be completely embarrassed to host a tourney with such bad officiating. Unless u live in imagination, I bet 99% agree.( I could tell u who the 1% is)!!

  7. The real problem with stalling is it never called till the call means nothing. Kid scores his pionts then backs away the rest of the match. Ref decides to finally call a warning with 10 seconds in the match?

Stalling in the first period is the same as the 3rd. Call it early!! The kids will decided it after that.

Fleeing will never be called right till all officials have had to ref a few years of freestyle. My opinion only.

  8. Someone did pull the trigger on Tom thou. He did go crazy with his weight also!! Wrestled 113 at spartan, 120/126 two weeks later?? After the cathedral meet I get PM telling me how Tom will not be allowed to wrestle 120. We think nothing about it till our AD tells Mr Cox had called. Seems someone decided to be judge and jury.

Pretty sad. With Campbell, Phillips, and Todd around Gettinger only won one sectional and one regional(senior year too!). He made it hard on himself trying to decide which wall to try and run thru.  Someone must of wanted to decide for him!!

It worked out in the end, it made me as a coach more aware. We are strick in the room with wrestlers weight, which makes it a non issue any more.

Coatrack must be fishing. No other reason

  9. I have seen the last 4 years(including are own kids) injury default in placement rounds. These are losses. I have never used any of these losses to get anyone seeded. The problem lies in the percentage criteria. If that is not counted as loss then what is it. Free pass?

I can tell u several, even one state placer, that these"losses" never showed up on their record.

  10. Apples

Your kid gets slammed in one match, wins, but cannot go on to wrestle the rest of an Individual tourney. Injury defaults

    Oranges

Kid gets beat in consolation semis, cries to mommy, and go puts his street clothes. Injury defaults for 6th place.

Never said anything about duals. It could be just as unethical to run from that match. Especially if its someone in your conference or sectional!!

  11. Some great matches tonite at Centerville. Really proud of a certain group that stayed dedicated while everyone else sit on the couch. Your hard work has really paid off!! Congrats

  12. This is the same criteria used as last year.  We had a returning sectional champ(SSQ also) get seeded 3rd last year. Ridiculous!!(he still won it)

I disagree with Y2 saying u should not use a loss(injury default, over weight,ect..) from an individual tourney for seeding. Just because a 5th or 7th place match doesn't mean something to u, doesn't mean it's nothing to your opponent. If u weigh n and wrestle day one of and indivdual tourney then injury default your first match(or miss weight) then it's a loss. Period

I've done so much right and still been call a ....! I quit making friends long ago..

  13. Jg,

should be a great match. Off season work gives Mcclurg upper hand while the match is on their feet. But, on top Jenkison works good pinning combos. I believe who comes with the best attack and the best game plan wins!!
