  1. Even though I don't think a rule like this will ever happen, I kind of do like the idea of getting a point for riding an entire period. It rewards the kid on top, especially if the ref is one who is scared to call stalling. Although, I do think a ref would have to be more aggressive in calling stalling on a rider who isn't trying to work.

I like it too, might as well since stalling is never called unless it's semi state or higher.
  2. I wouldnt say Kokomo is the favoritel, even when they had their kids in the line up they still didn't look all that tough. At Peru's super 8 Kokomo barely won against Oakhill and Angola when Peu lost maybe 8 matches in the two duals against them combined, Peru didn't match up well against Kokomo and I don't see Coach Hobbs letting that happen next time they wrestle

so if 2 of peru's ssq were out, it wouldn't make a difference? Bennidict inj def to us. I'm not sure who would have won, but I don't think we would get a pin, which is what we got for points when he injury defaulted. I would guess Peru got a pin against Kokomo at that weight. Although Kern might beat Tony, I don't know if I've seen Tony get pinned. Same with Angola. Kokomo's 152 inj defaulted against Angola, I doubt he gets pinned, that alone is at least 6+for Kokomo . the best part about this, it isn't the BCS. we have a playoff system and it's going to  be fun to watch
  3. Yeah, honestly, flip a coin with these 5.  They've all got good and bad performances.  I had Kokomo number 1 in the last edition, but Peru performed better than them against 4 different opponents this weekend--plus beat them head to head at the end.  Peru seems to be headed up, so I moved them from 4 to 1 since it's impossible to separate these teams.

Peru did look good, but Kokomo lost 2 ssq before facing them in the last round, on top of having 4 other starters out. If healthy, Kokomo is the favorite.

  8. maybe...  i do know that we use to wrestle tuesday and thursday night duals with the occasional saturday tournament or dual invite.   But that was way back when i was in high school    ;D

me too, and some saturdays were individual tourneys, and sometimes you would only get a couple matches, where as now, you get 5. But wrestling in a tourney is different than a dual.
  9. IT was their JV team.  No way even close to a varsity lineup.  They sent their Varsity team to Elwood where the competition was not as strong.  Bad move by GC coaches and administration.  Should be some sanctions against them for a move like that.  I suggest that everyone begin to look at your contracts and if you see Greenfield Central on the team list, call and check and see.  Heck you might see the Varsity team at some JV events.

BAD ETHICS TO SEND THE JV TO A VARSITY EVENT!  I talked to the Tech AD and he said that he did not get contacted that GC would be scared and not willing to send their team to Tech  so don't try to play that card either.

    Bad

    Bad

    Bad

Great, so the IHSAA will discontinue JV meets after this year as well
