160 results from Peru regional. Akers from Northwestern is 27-0, and has beat Sarber, Sparks, and Mullinix. Sarber has beat Sparks and Mullinix. My boy has lost 7 matches, there's no point in him being in the rankings.

Sorry, idk that, but my son wrestled him tomorrow night, I'll see if I can find out. He was like 40-3 last year going into sec, lost 2 very close ones to Ross from kokomo

Akers, from Northwestern, FWSS, might be one to watch. SSQ @ 170 last year.

Boaz also lost to Gunion from Garrett who has lost to Arney, Dager(Leo), and Stroyer(Busco).

 

He will need to beat someone in the top 8 before he gets promoted there. This weight class is pretty solid in our semi-state right now.

Rankings and invites are different. The invites are based off of the qualifying system. The rankings are voted on every two weeks by voting coaches of the IHSWCA. The rankings have nothing to do with the team state event except to help seed teams that qualified.

If Peru was #5, how come they weren't invited to team state?

I would certainly hope 1a.

It was a desire to get on an IHSAA cycle and, more importantly, to use the best data available rather than outdated info.  The event unfortunately started mid-cycle last year.

I guess my biggest question is, why did they feel the need to reclass? We were 1a last year, and weren't invited because we didn't score well. Iirc, the ihsaa reclasses every 3 years. So why did they feel the need to reclass the very next year?
