I was watching the CP-Merrillville match, but you couldn't help but watch this match. It was back & forth - back & forth. Good job to both wrestlers.
with a score of 15-8 how could it have been back and forth so much when one of estradas moves was a 5 point move?

Nate Gallick has now been confirmed for the CMA wrestling camp. We now have all 3 national champions on board and ready to teach some great wrestling skills to the future of our sport.
Angel Escobedo
Mark Perry
Nate Gallick
Don't miss out. We have brochures available. Email me if interested. You can't beat this 4 day camp for only $275!

campbell is done for the season, correct? phillips should be the favorite if this is the case.

I don't know if anybody is aware of this but Josh Harper is on the cover of ESPN RISE The Magezine, The magezine dedicated to H.S. Sports. It talks about him going for his 4th consecutive State Title. Harper is a Fantastic wrestler one of Indiana's ALL TIME greats but he has been beaten 2 times this year in his own state.. Wrestling in the big 10 is going to be a big eye opener..i think the Cover Spread should have went too CASHE QUIROGA. Anybody agree??
No. I sure don't agree. The edition of the magazine that Harper was on is for Indiana only. This isn't a national publication. Each state that has RISE has their own edition. At any rate, Harper is going for his 4th title. He's the only one this year in Indiana that can achieve this. Cashe is going for his 2nd title. Harp is well deserving of this acknowledgment.
Also...where is Brooks at on the 119 rankings? He stuck the guy out at Fargo that is ranked 7th! It wasn't even a close match. Brooks was dominating and then pinned him. That kid should definitely be on there!
-
that's nice that he has had a match every single time and that no one is dodging him. we have had that problem several times this season.
-
No I am just curious who he didn't pin because someone stated that he is 34-0 with 33 pins. Was the other win a ff or did he dec/majdec/tech the other wrestler?
-
Who didn't Mosier pin (or was it a ff)?
ff's equal a pin.
lol...what?

I wrestled Gralan several times in both high school and in freestyle. I would assume that by that comment you are saying he is athletic and has less technique? John (whom I also wrestled in high school) was very technical, but Gralan had amazing mat skills. He was very athletic and very technically sound. So your post doesn't really make sense to me.

Baker by at least a major.
-
kinSer.
thanks.
-
ha..far from it. if you know these two then you know that they have an amazing drive and work ethic. not to mention that they are just really good wrestlers!
-
no...i just bank on kinser and young winning every time! i can't help it...i coached them while they were in high school! can you blame me??

As was posted Johnstone is out Nemec is in at 157.
I'm looking forwad to the Colt - Paul match. Imo it will really show where Young is right now. The Vallimont match gave me hope for him this season even though V bumped up a weight.
And. I really hope Angel handles Triggas .....cause at this point in the season if he doesn't...........he better schedule that surgery.
P.S. Vallimont didn't "bump up" a weight. He is at 165 for the rest of the year.
-
sweet...IU's gonna win this dual!
-
Daniel Young is 34-0.

We now officially have both Mark Perry and Angel Escobedo confirmed. We are waiting for Nate Gallick to get back to the states. He will contact us as soon as he checks his schedule. Either way...$275 for a four day camp with Angel and Mark is worth it in itself. There's a reason we call it the CMA National Champ Camp! Brochures/camp website should be up and running by the end of next week. Shoot me an email with your address if you'd like a brochure mailed to you or if you'd like more information.

Isn't Culver a private school? We would love to send him to Culver but money would prevent us from it.
Ya, they are very expensive at Culver.
Very expensive, yet very affordable. Nearly 50% of our students are only some sort of financial aid. Rarely do we refuse qualified candidates as a result of financial issues. We have several admissions people that help deal with that and make it family affordable for students. Don't be misinformed!

could you mail me one
I grabbed about 25 copies from our post office today, so go ahead and shoot me your address!

Wasn't Stephen Bradley as well? If I remember correctly he was Asics 1st team his senior year as well.

It's a great article. We get a few hundred copies here. Anyone that wants to stop by and get one is more than welcome!

Well I am not going to make excuses. I am the one that officiated the Coughlin-Becker and the Young-Becker matches. Becker only won 1 "wrestle-off" in college. IU's wrestle-offs aren't for a varsity position. They are an opportunity for the guys to get within 5-7 pounds of their weight and an opportunity for the fans to join and see what is going on with the program. Young pinned Becker last year. Coughlin lost to Kinser as well. How come Young and Kinser weren't varsity last year? You have to understand that these aren't like college wrestle-offs. Plus at the time I officiated the matches I wasn't even an NCAA official yet, so there really wasn't any legitimacy to it. Becker was the better wrestler and that's why he was varsity. I think he proved that by being a 3-time AA at stacked weights.
And sometimes your high school dominance doesn't transfer over to college. This is the case with my wrestlers around the country besides Matt and Dre.
-
To me (and likely many of us) it doesn't sound like you are defending IU in any way, shape, or form. your shoulder problems have nothing to do with angel's decision to look at an Olympic birth. IMO Viterisi will be at 141 next year. He is learning a lot in his freshman campaign at IU and will be solid. He went a few rounds further than Orgeta in Fargo. At any rate, they are both solid. Nobody really cares about your fantasy league. I'd be more concerned with the well-being of the student-athletes. It is my hope that Dre puts it together come tournament time. I believe he will. Matt is just getting beat by a better wrestler at the time. If it just so happens that an AA is "riding the pine," then so be it. Do you expect Goldman to bench the better wrestler just because of past results? Ha, you likely would, but he isn't thaaat bad of a coach. And Pelton did move home to be with his family. His current college is now merely an hour and a half from his hometown. He just wanted to be closer to home. That's the bottom line.

HA! Certainly NOT the case. Daniel dominated him, yet again.
