  1. I would go with the classic old school mats as well, one piece, or the 3 section types. If they' re only to be used for practice. Not the best type of mat to move all the time. Old school mat https://www.resilite.com/pages/classic-mat The school bought us EZ Flex mats for our room at 1 5/8" thick. We didn't get asked, just told. They're the hardest and roughest surface I've seen and I hate them. The surface is peeling from the foam, at the corners, and they're only 4yrs old. The 10yr old EZ Flex mats we have for competition are better than the newer ones. If I was asked. I would use a Dollamur, 2 inch thick with the FLEXI-Connect Built-in, tapeless connection (this would be to keep the mat sections square), and would also tape them (to keep the tapeless connection down on the mat). We have 3 brands of easy roll up mats used for competition all at 1 5/8 inch thick: EZ Flex, Tiffin, and Dollamur. The Dollamur is by far the better mat. I hope this was helpful. https://dollamur.com/wrestling
