Iran finished day 1 with 3 gold, 1 Bronze, and 1 5th place finish Rahman, Yazdani and Nokhodi got the 3 golds, Mohammadian got the bronze in 97 kg. Mohammadian did OK really, losing just to the world champion.

The undecided weights are 86 Kg and 97 Kg For 86, they are waiting to see how Yazdani recovers from major surgery. If he recovers well, it's him, if not, it will probably be a wrestle off between Ghassempour and Hadi Vaffaeipour. In 97, I expect it to be Azarpira, now that Mohammadian lost to the Bahraini/Russian world championship. If Yazdani does not recover well, and if Ghassempour can make weight at 86, I personally expect it to be Ghassempour. Ghassempour vs Taylor would be a match of the Olympics.
