The Indiana Wrestling League is entering its 3rd season and has some pretty awesome momentum behind it. Last season we had 16 teams compete. These teams competed in normal duals and ended the season with a Varsity and JV tournament for our elementary wrestlers. The finals had videos posted across social media and people were talking about the league. With that being said we have had many teams interested in joining the already large league. We will be holding our annual pre-season meeting this Sunday. At this time we will confirm if there are openings and if we want to increase the size of the league. Indiana Smackdown is bringing a pretty solid team and are missing 2 weights. 50 and 170+(up to 220), tenths do not count. This is a great opportunity to get a ton of matches. The entry fee and partial gear package is being paid for by The Indiana Wrestling League. Gear Fee is $100, this includes singlet, fight short, sublimated Shirt, and 1/4 zip warm up. I just had my 152 have to back out due to illness. I am looking for someone wanting to wrestle this weekend in York, PA. We are guaranteed 8 duals. We need two more spots filled for this tournament. 113 and 131, you must be in 8th grade or lower. This tournament is in York, PA on October 7 and 8. Cost is $125, and comes with singlet, fight shorts, sublimated shirt, and 1/4 zip warm up. This is a great way to get ready for the upcoming season. Last season each team was responsible for setting their own schedule. As we all know getting gym space is harder for others. I personally held my teams Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday. Teams that are further away tend to do things differently. But overall it is very open. We also wrestled triple Duals on the weekends. We required 8 dual meets vs IWL opponents for varsity wrestlers before the championship. This was seeding purposes only. Weights were the same as elementary dual state. We did add some heavier weights last season so the big kids were not left out.
