I could see Alex Kunkel or Marcus Swift pulling it off. What about you? I could see Aldrich repeating but who else?
-
"No really, I don't want any pie."
-
That's fair, I'm biased towards Concordia though so I'm staying optimistic!
-
Watch out for those Concordia kids coming through they're gonna shock some people this year!
-
Seems like a few others are getting started, so what are your predictions for the Carroll regional this year?
-
Great discussion guys!!! Definitely need more of these in the future!!
-
I thought McCormick was going 126?
-
Our thoughts and prayers go out to this young man and his family from the Concordia Wrestling team! It seems like he's handling the situation well and much better than I would for sure. Prayers for a swift and full recovery!

Great guy who handled all of his career with class. Great high school career, and best of luck in the future Isaiah!

This has probably already been mentioned on other threads but man I am glad I wasn't the ref in the match between Molloy and Walker last night. It was a crappy dirty rotten shame that either boy had to lose that match. I replayed the last 5 seconds over and over in my head and dang it seemed too close to tell. I would love to see a video replay with the clock. From where I sat, that call could have gone either way. I don't have a horse in this race, but darn I felt bad for the Yorktown boy, who handled the situation with class and grace. His parents should be proud. Not sure I would have been so understanding if it were me. To go from thinking you just won a state title to sorry we changed our minds is a bitter pill to swallow. I know that using video replay in wrestling at the high school level would never be implemented and in my opinion should never be implemented on a regular basis. However, maybe in the state championships at the semi final and final rounds it could be used. I know the intent of high school sports is to build character and to teach sportsmanship and to respect the decision of the officials. But man, we want to get it right too. From an outsider's perspective I think the officials did a fantastic job. I just wouldn't have wanted to make that call. Try to be positive about the officials, but what do you guys think about that call. Did they get it right? Sorry in advance if I just repeated a thread that someone else has already started.
I absolutely agree, Walker handled it with the utmost class. That's something that shows the character of this young man, just terrific. Isaiah Bradley also handled losing in OT to a questionable call very well, only accepting the situation and congratulating both Corsaro and Farrell.

It was definitely the best match I've seen! Scrambles were intense and the match was close the whole time! I got sweaty palms and was on the edge of my seat the whole time! Walker vs. Molloy was also a fantastic match!!

I am glad Hayden Lee isn't Catholic
Haha good thing huh? It's a shame this is happening at all! It's just wrestling, nothing more!

Daniel Massucci of Concordia pinned some kid from Providence in :09, was really :06 but the referee was slow to make the trip to the mat (old age?)

THE EYE OF THE TIGER!!!

Gotta believe Yorktown will have a great showing and take the title with them. Don't sleep on Carroll at 138, could surprise a lot of people!
-
A couple of years ago at the Ft Wayne semi-state carter delaney from Fort Wayne Bishop Dwenger caught undefeated senior Josh Ehr in a cradle and pinned him, insane moment

Really Linnear really look like he was kinda in a way to be in a little bit of shock. he is fine and he will be fired up for state so i dont think he is unstoppable.
Linnear is a good wrestler and I hope he is fired up for state! But Lefever has controlled every match against him, even at sectionals and regionals.
-
Exactly. Forrest exemplifies an extremely classy wrestler, never giving less than 100%. He set a great example for staying calm even through adversity. Well done Forrest.
-
I absolutely think wrestlebacks would be a great thing to implement. No way a great wrestler like Forrest Glogouski, ranked 4th in state, shouldn't make it through to state. Jones from Concordia also pinned Reed from Muncie South at 170 at Concordia's Wild Bill tournament this year and Reed is going to state while Jones is the alternate.
-
It's my understanding that Luginbill v Malcolm was a very controversial match that might have been able to take advantage of something like this. Not saying it would've changed the outcome, but at least then we'd know somebody looked into it.
-
I must agree. His performance yesterday was almost unbelievable!
I was about equally impressed with Fletcher Miller of Kokomo as well. His semi's match where he pinned undefeated Nicodemus was crazy!
Absolutely!! Fletcher Miller is a big 220 with a lot of agility. He'll definitely be one of the wrestlers I'll keep my eye on down at state!

Lefever of Fort Wayne Carroll tech falled Linnear of Fort Wayne North in SS championship yesterday and seems unstoppable. Who else has been unstoppable so far?
