Final: 17-1. Nick Lee totally in control in every possible way ...
-
I think the 120 match was the match of the day. Both wrestlers are about as even as can be. The action was on the mat the entire match. In the 145 match there was so much blood time that the match never had any continuity. Joe bled a lot. I mean ... a lot!!!

Arrogance is very unbecoming... I believe there will be a couple of matches this evening that will surprise you. Mater Dei might win the team score tonight but they won't take all of them
Mater Dei wins all 14 matches to defeat Reitz 70-0 ...

Mater Dei will be in St. Louis this Saturday at the St. Louis Gateway Tournament.

Just pre-ordered the book.

WOW you can hit some people in the head with a pipe and they still just don't get it. Lee didn't lose a close one and he was never close to scoring, so what in the world makes you think he beats Micic at this point anywhere? He's a great wrestler but he's just not on the same level as Micic, it's just that simple, get over it. I would agree though the other wrestler doesn't belong in the conversation.
I agree with your comments 100%. I saw every match Lee wrestled this year, and he dominated everyone except Micic.

MD wrestled without tights for the first time at the state duals in early January.

I was talking with Stevan shortly after weigh ins. He told me he was going to leave "no doubts today". I thought he accomplished that. He had a scowl on his face before the semi with Davis that I've not seen before. And school was clearly in session 19-5 after TWO periods(wasn't the lee vs davis final 10-4?) what a great show for the fans in his final appearance at Mville.
Thanks for the memories Stevan!
And I would expect to see that same scowl on Saturday. Micic by a major in very controlling fashion over Lee.
Lee defeated Davis at the state duals 13-4.

I've seen Micic several times, and I do think that if anyone in Indiana can beat Lee, it would be Micic. But with that being said, I actually don't think Micic will. I'm going with Lee. Could be the match of the year.

Far and away? Did you ever see a kid by the name of Maurer wrestle?
I watched Blake Maurer wrestle his entire high school career, and without a doubt, he is the best Mater Dei has produced. But, at this point (being a freshman), Lee is far, far ahead of where Blake was as a freshman. In my 20-years of watching high school wrestling, I have seen some of Indiana's best, but no one has impressed me more than Lee. He has the potential, to be the best Mater Dei wrestler ever. It's early in his career, but if he stays healthy and avoids injury, he has the potential to be one of Indiana's best also. Lets not get the cart ahead of the horse. Lee just needs to wrestle one match at a time.

I have gone twice. The place was packed both times. Good wrestling atmosphere.

Mater Dei had 12 in the finals. Overall, they had 9 firsts, 3 seconds, and 2 thirds.

Observation: Gibson Southern is a vastly improved team. Blake Maurer, Matt Coughlin, & Dane Maurer are doing a fantastic job.

MD wins 12 of 14 matches to defeat Reitz 58-9.

And I will be one of those in attendance Thursday evening, with a grilled hamburger, popcorn, and a Pepsi ...

I will take Stephen lee beat davis by major stephen has teched him a couple times and wrestle eachother ALOT if you wrestle someone alot you think you are going to continue to tech them? especially when he is a good wrestler that can adapt to who he is wrestling. next time davis wrestles lee it will be ALOT closer may even switch victories never know until the time comes. but i will tell you there is no forsure lock at any weight until there is a crowned champion kids gotta keep working to become the best. OH yeah Stephen isnt going ot run from anyone who has had a high scoring match with someone that is just STUPID hahha
I may be alone with this opinion, but I actually don't think Davis will wrestle Lee better if they meet again. I think just the opposite will happen.
-
I really liked the new singlets.
-
Thanks for your comment coach. But, I must admit that I did miss the large crowd your team usually brings.
-
For MD to win this match, it is important for them not to give up many points at 195, 220, & 285. It's very possible that UC could get three pins in those three matches. Of course I don't know, but I think MD will wrestle straight up. No real advantage to bumping. I will be there. Should be a great evening of wrestling.

Kayla does not have any control over who her wrestling opponent is. She simply wrestles them. If she beats them, she moves on. She moved on. She wrestles Friday.
-
I heard from several people who spoke with the CBHS coach, that he was very upset that they did not wrestle MD. According to what I was told, the only reason CBHS agreed to wrestle this event, was to have the opportunity to wrestle MD. Also heard, that CBHS is interested in participating in MD's Holiday Classic next year.

Thanks for posting. Brought to mind many of the great matches I saw Blake wrestle. One of Indiana's all-time bests.
