Micic
Forte
Kenny Hughes
Stevenson
Hurford
Robinson
I also think that Sinko, Drew Hughes, and Hartman have legitimate shots as well at a state title. I could be wrong but I will say AT LEAST 5 state champs will come out of Merriville

I believe Escobedo's two losses are both to Ferdig. First at the dual meet and then at the Washington super dual. 7-0 at the dual and then a pin at the super dual. I know these matches were both early in the season, but I don't see Ferdig losing this match.

The wrestler at the Rochester regional that is being discussed was out of line with his actions after the match. He should not have given the finger to the Mishawaka crowd. He should have maintained his composure and acted with class. That being said, I want to defend him. He takes a lot of crap from the crowd, every single match. Whether it is warranted or not, nearly everyone in the crowd cheers against him or even boos him. As it is mostly adults in the crowd, I think this is awful and unnecessary. He is a high school kid. Why are adults feeling the need to demoralize this kid every time he steps on the mat? Yes, he has asthma. Yes, he probably uses his injury time too much. But give the kid a break. He is a good wrestler who has put up with a lot of crap the last four years. You don't have to like him or cheer for him. But don't boo him.

brooks boot scoot and super duck are pretty cool to watch
-
Jared just won a state championship in a dominant fashion, and all these people want to bash him on here. How about you let the HIGH SCHOOL KID have his moment and leave him alone.

Those were not boos, but..................Duuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuukkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkeeeeeeeeeeeeeee.

106: Micic
113: Brooks
120: Todd
126: Ayersman
132: Mckinley
138: Jackson
145: T-shirt
152: Mullins (Idk much about this weight, so just going with the obvious favorite)
160: Stevenson
170: Willis
182: Lynde
195: Berry
220: Robinson, Gallegos, Kral...could be anyone of those 3
285: Stauffer
After this weekend at Merrillville I changed my 106 and 182 picks...Lynde is a monster. and Micic will give Boston a great match. Also 220 is up for grabs...although I will say the winner is gonna come from the merrillville semi state!
-
I've seen both wrestle this year, and very impressed with both. I'll take Micic 6-5, based on last years match at state and micics weight gain
-
Yeah Sliga lost to stevenson in the semis. Stevenson put on his back in the 1st and when the ref slaped the mat the place went crazy... but time had expired. Another 1/2 a second we would be saying Sliga got stuck by stevenson in the semis in the 1st period
yeah, youre right, I remember that! Berry and Sliga should have a great match this year!
-
Did Silga and Berry wrestle last year in the state tournament?
no, berry lost to goldman first round saturday, so the best he could do was fifth. sliga got knocked out in the semis by stevenson i think
-
We'll see for sure this weekend but I do not see Berry getting beat. His only loss the past 2 years was to the state champ Garrett Goldman 1-0. This year he has had 28 first period pins out of 29 matches. At merrillville, he was maybe on the mat a total of 3 minutes in 4 matches against solid competition. The guy is a monster.

195: sliga vs berry
hopefully the draws work out so these matchups happen under the lights!

I didn't even understand why there was a question! he clearly signaled 1 for an escape, then 2 takedown

I was there I saw the match. Skipper did absolutely nothing. Seagraves made a mistake that cost him getting taken down. we will see come the NIC invite and regionals and so on
Skipper 10-1. That good enough for ya?
-
I'm not sure if this was ever posted but Volheim dec Weinkauf 7-0 at the Charger Invite.
-
Skipper dec Allen 6-1
Baker dec Skipper 2-1
Gibson dec Allen 3-2 OT
Baker dec Gibson 3-1
Patterson dec Weinkauf 3-2
And I believe Gibson beat Weinkauf also, but I'm not sure on that one. All these matches were from the Al Smith at 195

yeah we will see

jacob seagraves at 195 from plymouth should be ranked with only a close loss (by 2 i believe) to returning state qualifier Alex Skipper
If anyone saw this match though they would know seagraves was never a threat to score. Skipper had just come off a 24 hr stomach flu on friday and controlled the whole match.
