  1. Well, i agree with the 170 being wrong. As you know Austin had to see multiple doctors to get released to wrestle, with the possibility of the muscle detatching from the bone. The worst case has happen, and Austins high school career has come to an end. Its a chance he took, and has been wrestling is severe pain. Its time to get it fixed and get ready for the bigger picture, winning a NCAA title for the Boilermakers. It is my son, but he is a tough sob, he has put his  self through hell to try to make a come back but i guess it just wasnt in the cards and the good lord has diffrent plans for him. Its heart breaking but out of his control at this point. Hope to get the surgery and be recovered in time to go get a fargo title. That is the plan, thanks to everyone for all your support. The Mccloskeys

Thinking of you guys broski. You got my number. Holla if you need anything  that includes the other 2 issues too. The one where we lead a parallel life and the other with work.things will work out in all 3 situations.

  2. Bigmak....

Bryce Robinson is a... 'Babyface?' I saw that kid at Spartan Bowl and then at Richmond and he looks like he could be 40 years old and have a family and 2 kids! lol poor kid.

hence my sarcasm lol. thats my style of humor. cracks me up when other teams think he is the coach lol. the guy is a mchine tho. always pushing the action. such a great kid off the mat but step in his way on the football or you will get trucked. he's got a mean firemans carry and can throw about anyone to their back if not careful. GO BRYCE!!!

  3. absolutely! while there has been many, 3 come to mind real fast. the first major upset i remember is in 2009. Richmonds eric noe was a 4 seed and knocked off 1 seed nolan feller from franklin county. More recent was 2 years ago. Connersville was a powerhouse that sent 11 wrestlers into regionals. only 4 made it out. upsets included a very good 2 seed 33-7 bobby frasur getting pinned by centervilles 25-10 austin milliron as well as a very intimidating looking beast at 2 seed 35-9 brady bolos also getting pinned by baby face bryce robinson with record of 25-12 of centerville. predictions are fun, records can look great, but there is a reason they do have to wrestle the matches.

just thought i would throw out another one that just happened last year and i have mentioned it on here before. blake wood from rushville was a 1 seed that got beat by 4 seed eastern hancocks nathan kell.

also, bryce robinson from centerville was pinned by a strong headlock thrown by 4 seed from milan jake cavins.

lastly, #1 seed grant kennedy from knightstown got taken out by 4 seed dustin conety from south dearborn.

it happens every year and recently, seems to be more often. dont overlook anyone.

  4. Who are some of the best 4th placers from sectionals? I know Timmberman from New Pal was 4th. I believe he was a State Qualifier last season. Impressive sectional weight.

    richmond regional:

Aquino-Morales, Emilio - Union County 170 (12th grade) 35-7. just really had a bad day. should have got 2nd as he has wins over the other guys in his bracket except the 1 seed.

somehow pinned himself in while he had his opponent in a cradle. bad luck to the 1 seed from new castle who will probably be sent home now lol.

Boggs, Nathan - South Dearborn 126 (10th grade) 32-9. another bad day at sectionals. one loss could have went either way, the other loss was a stunning upset in my book. another new castle kid seeded 1 will most likely be going home early.

  5. What school does Brayton Lee go to? Is he still in middle school? I see where he won at a tough 110# and Iwas just wondering where he is?

Brayton Lee - Brownsburg (WILL BE FRESHMAN NEXT YEAR)

Took 3rd at Tulsa nationals and won USAW Preseason nationals. Also already a two time middle school state champ

  6. these are the first round matchups I cant wait to see and could go either way:

    106 bunch/markley wilburn/handley

    113 o'farrow/michaels boggs/marsh

    145 oswald/decker

    170 hoffrogge/bowman amberger/pope aquino/hoots

    285 minges/alamillo

126 could very well see a #1 seed drop out of first round

170 i believe a #1 seed does drop out of first round

  7. Even today there are only 30 schools with more than 2000 students. Back in 1992 it was even less.

RHS basketball 1992. Another "Hoosiers" movie in the making. Small town school wins state. Haha. Suck it. Jealousy sucks huh. It's ok. U guys can have other years but I got my senior year. :)

  8. Richmond in 92 had nearly 2000 students and was probably in the top 30 enrollments in the state. Your gym holds 8000.

So like I said, many schools larger than Richmond. Nothing I didn't already know. I knew when we went to other schools that they were bigger and now I know, because that's a lot if schools bigger than small town richmond high school. Still wondering why joe would say someone didn't know what they were talking about. Must have been referring to others I'm sure.

  9. 66 schools larger than Richmond

    then Richmond

Then 345 schools smaller than Richmond

Sorry man, you just proved Richmond is a large school.

sorry man, your looking at all the private as well. we went to compete with schools around indy and aother area that were much larger, several even 2x our size.

  10. Richmond wasnt and isnt a small school.

its small to me. been around to much bigger schools. born and raised in richmond and always had the small home town feel to me and seems like we went to a lot of other schools that were much larger

  11. Great examples! I caught my self saying, I can't believe Feller got beat by that kid.

I know the noe's personally and went to school with Eric's mom since elementary so I followed their careers. I say careers because 2 years ago, I thought history was going to repeat itself. Feller was again a 1 seed going against another 4seed noe, Eric's little brother David. He gave him a good match but just couldn't pull off the same upset his older brother had just a few years prior.

  12. This was the first post under this subject this year. Now we 8 possibilities at each weight and 4 will move on. Stats and predictions are cool, and interesting. But at this point in the season, the answer is not the kid with the most technique and size or winning percentage. It is utterly up to who wants it most. We have all seen the #1 go down to the #4 and then 4 go on to be#1 on the podium and we make the comment "I cant believe he lost to him/her". But it happens every year during the state series all up and down this state. This year will be no different. Once again, it will not always be the size and skill of the dog in the fight, yet will be the size of the fight in the dog. One thing I have learned over the years is not to take anyone for granted. Don't overlook anyone and always expect the unexpected.

I pray all you guys/girls stay healthy and blessed. Thanks for entertaining your fans!
