Rumor is that Hudkins didn't make weight. I want Black to buy me a lottery ticket.
both sinkovics and hudkins are out (both 1 seeds and in same bracket half with B. Black)

my "money" for the winner of a danceoff would be "cash"

Didn't the Fishers kid at 182 last year get 4th at New Castle, then place 4th at state?
yes, seth riley

I posted in another thread that Blackburn from Laporte has four losses this year all to Streck, who are some other multiple loss guys coming into the tournament that one wrestler owns all of his losses?
160 Max Dole had 2 losses both to Borta and he was up at one point in both matches...but then he lost to Decker last week in a match I dont feel he was mentally in after just losing to Borta the 2nd time.
-
not a popular pick by any means but don't say I didn't tell you first...
160 - #4 Dole over #1 Mammolenti
-
30 votes in and thecaliboysback is pulling away with a third of the votes

Thats not True you better move them around 8)
Obviously, Im the top dog, then you got a young denzel washington in the general, followed by a strapping big bob that I would say is a better looking version of the ruggedly handsom actor danny devito, then danny bell which if it wasnt for that huge growth in the middle of his face he calls a nose would probably be 2nd or 3rd. After that its kinda down hill as everyone know donnie baker just looks like he still lives in the 80s hair band era. i have no clue what you look like so by default you go to the bottom. lol

Only if Bigmak and Bigbob sit next to each other!
I met BigBob at spartan classic in December, along with Y2. Shook hands with both. I believe Mr. Bernard to be a good guy. We spoke a couple times during that day and I am a huge fan of Wes (who wont even be challenged this weekend in my opinion). Y2 just hates me because I am so freakishly good looking but who can blame him. Regardless, I would stand shoulder to shoulder with anyone in the wrestling community (except for maybe samstalker or whatever his name was) for the better of the sport and the fight to keep in olympics and to recruit more kids into it. Its the best sport ever that teaches more life lessons than any other. Good luck to everyone at state and have a good time. Live it up for me, i wont make it.

BTW, they are in order of best looking

still waiting for my invite as a special guest...

I too looked at the brackets, who do you have Harnishfeger losing too? He has a great draw from just eyeballing it. I don't know (besides records) anything about the wreslters he must face.
sorry, just saw this. yea i have him winning first round easily but his ticket round draw is bad. he gets 7th ranked wagner who lost to rypel by just a point earlier this year. he lost 6-4 to 4th ranked moss at regionals. thats one tough 2 seed. again, anything can happen though. i cheering on my richmond regional guys anyway

Well, like I said it was just off the top of my head. If they have a match at semi state, then I think any of them have a chance. Go make your own luck young men. Anyone can win on any giving day. Prove the stat guys wrong and get as many out of this regional as possible! Just don't leave anything in refs hands except your wrist being raised after the match. Only listen to your coaches or people who have actually been wrestlers. All these other wannabe's have no clue what they are talking about and give their ramblings no weight.
After all the factors that cannot be controlled (officials, injury, a kids will to win, etc...) I'm pretty much over talking these predictions and what could have or should have been scenarios to death. It causes way to much stress on me and I can only imagine the stress it puts on these kids.
Wrestling is the sport I love and that will not change. I put on my singlet and had my battles, and those days are long over. I was never a talker, I just wrestled and gave it 100%. I am going to start focusing on what I can control. That pretty much comes down to being at the venue for my kids match's, paying for his gym membership (and everything else as usual LOL) and supporting him in any positive way I can to help him get better. I don't know where any of these 100+ post ever did any thing but waste my time. This is a great site for information, and discussion and I am sure I will visit it from time to time as a guest, but this is my final post.
Be blessed wrestlers. Don't be talkers, let your wrestling speak for itself. Be confidant, but never cocky. Train hard and put in the extra work and the wins will work themselves out and the losses will make you stronger.
Y2, please cancel my account after you read this post. Good luck to you Y2 and PS, only block post from people who are using profanity, or being just plain silly. Freedom of speech is for everyone!
well said bpace and respected. the board will miss you but i am thinking i am in the same boat. the crap they pulled on my son was just too much and his career is over. i loved talking wrestling and i knew i could get on here any time of the day and do that but after i saw a kid have his season and career cut short when it clearly should not have been, i think i am burnt on it.
OFFICIALS, i would love to show you the difference between what happened to my son (a kid putting his hand in my sons mouth and pressing hard enough to get teeth marks on the top), versus and actual bite (which would require 2 sets of teeth marks, one on top AND ON THE BOTTOM!)

Yea I like Selm. He is a good wrestler but I didn't even have him winning first round match. While his opponents record isn't that impressive at 24-10, he is from perry meridian so you know they are wrestling a real tough schedule as well as team state against top wrestlers. I do give Selm a chance in that match I just know it won't be easy but even then, Bernard in a ticket round is as bad as it can be. I really don't think anyone can touch Bernard this year.
-
There are no wrestlebacks, only placing the top 4.
so the first alternate becomes the last non placing wrestler that lost to the champ?
-
ok really looked at the brackets and looked at each matchup and im not real happy with the results. i am biased for richmond regional guys and I still could not see many of them moving on. real tough matchups on paper so they need to go out and prove the numbers wrong. here are what i have come up with
only 5 will be going to state. its all about the draws and the matchups but here are my lucky 5 going to state:
160
dole as a 3 seed
decker as a 4 seed
170
gonzales as a 1 seed
182
hittle as a 2 seed
285
trawick someplace between 2-4 seed
the additional wrestlers actually placing top 8 after the above mentioned that are moving on are:
106
schaefer 7th
handley 8th
113
coffman 8th
120
anderson 5th
lonneman 7th
126
o'farrow/boggs 5th/6th or vise versa
loos 8th
132
bane 6th
138
cox 5th
ruberg 8th
145
hale 5th
152
manning 6th
hill 8th
170
aquino5th
182
robinson 6th
harper 8th
195
harnishfeger 7th
-
The why has Hill won the last 2 out of three?
simple, cause even the sun shines on a dogs butt every now and then
-
If you include Manning then you have to include Hill too right?
manning is much better than hill...i think hill is very good, taking nothing away from him, i watched that match against manning and i think manning beats him 9 out of 10 times. and in all honesty, it really doesnt matter which is better between the 2, its which has the better semi state draw. for example: jenkinson beat mcclurg in the 3/4 spot at regionals but i guarantee you that jenkinson would rather have mcclurgs draw right now. jenkinson draws into CJ Red in the ticket round lol. its like, congrats for winning 3rd place, you get to now try and beat one of the top wrestlers in the nation to go to state. ouch!
-
You might want to recheck the brackets if your picks are in finishing order. 106,113,132,138,160,170,182,195, and 220 can't finish in the top four like that. You have guys meeting in the ticket round both finishing in the top four.
fixed them. thanks
-
Just off the top of my head.
Schaefer
Coffman
loos
Rueberg
Bane
Hill
Dole
Gonzolez
Hittle
Harneshfeger
Selm
I would include 285 trawick, 170 Aquino (got a great draw especially with mccclosky out, he drew into that regionals 1 seed that would have been a 2 seed), 152 manning, 145 hale (has not been scored on since sectionals began), 138 cox (barely lost in ticket round last year after ref was too slow and out of position when cox had his opponent on his back)

This is the first time I have tried doing too 8 as I usually just do top 2 or 4. So you're saying if they lose in ticket round, they can only wrestleback for 5th?

Wow. So if you are getting beat, just cross face your opponent on the mouth to get teeth marks and you can win. Terrible. If you can't win a match using wrestling moves then don't wrestle. Sad way to see someone end a career that way. Freaking pathetic losers.
I just heard this isn't the first or second time this same kid has pulled this crap. Not naming names but seriously dude, if you can't win by wrestling and you have to cheat, find a different sport.
