I personally think it is sad that Indiana has to resort down to semi state qualifiers. I cannot believe that guys would not want to represent our state. jesus if i didnt win state and was asked i would have still be up for it. just an example as to what i am saying if you look at illinois line ups i do believe everyone was placed in the top 5 places. and for us we are scattered all over the place. I walked into the Indiana Illinois duals thinking it would be close until we had some guys who were only semi state qualifiers wrestling a state champ and a 3X qualifier I know we have other good wrestlers in our state.
Interestingly the 106 senior, whitten, who went that was only "a semi state qualifier" won his match on the A mat won 9-1.

The match between Cash and Whitten ended with Whitten on his back and another 3 back points for Cash, final 10-3. but yes, still not a major LOL
Ok. The bracket says 7-3?? But I will admit whitten certainly under estimated cash. go cash
-
Your right Whitten didn't get majored by Boston. He got pinned. What was score vs Cash?
1st match at county was a pin The 2nd match at mic boston/whitten 6-2, then semi state 8-2. Whiiten/cash was 7-3.
-
I don't think I'm the only one that "misunderstood" u as saying each wrestler "majored" everyone. And what kind of sense does it make to say they "could" do it just didn't? Why would a wrestler win by only 1 or 4 and risk it if he "could" tech or pin the opponent. Obviously papa boston was worried about it or he would not have been at perry regionals scouting instead of supporting his sons at their regionals. Boston gets yelled at so harshly when he doesn't tech or pin his opponent that I imagine if he "could" he would. All three are very good and respected wrestlers. But come on.
-
I will probably be criticized for this and if I am wrong, let me have it (on Sunday)...but here goes:
There are 3 wrestlers who are CLEARLY above the field. Boston, Micic, and Cash.
Sorry that I have to burst the bubbles of you folks but that's my opinion.
The "others" will be majored by any of these 3 wrestlers.
It's been like this all season long...if any of you have known the backgrounds and performances of these 3 wrestlers compared to the rest of the field, you would know...this is a 3 horse race! The sad thing is, one of them will only get 5th because of the ridiculous IHSAA wrestleback to 5th when you lose on Saturday morning. So, in essence, there will be 2 other wrestlers above either Micic or Cash (who wrestle on Sat morning) in the 3rd and 4th spot. A real shame.
That's my take and again, if I am wrong, let me have it come Saturday night or Sunday morning. Anything can happen in wrestling and I could be wrong but I doubt it.
I don't have a dog in this fight but you should check your facts. Whitten wrestled both cash and boston this season and wasn't majored by either of them at any time.

New Castle has 3 refs per mat but they don't use the checks and balance system discribed above.
-
If the officials would call green and red the same it would not be considered as mean. The problem comes when the ref calls a takedown for red when green still has a leg but won't call the same takedown for green. If you are going to call it for a foot on the line call it that way the entire match for both wrestlers. It amazes me that one gets called for stalling then the other will do it and not get called. Does he just get tired of blowing his wistle? Maybe these issues could be solved with 3 officials.

someone who is in the position to, should man up and deal with his "shady" dealings.
People standing around doing nothing simply gives him permission to continue in his shadiness. What kind of example is this to the kids? We as a state are telling these kids that 'cheaters' get ahead and money can buy your way out of anything. Sad win or loose I am honored that my son has integrity.
-
Where did you get info that he taped their match?
It was discussed on one of these feeds the other day. I read a lot of them I'm sorry I am uncertain which topic it was under. There were people discussing it today who didn't know it was illegal. It just sucks the extent some parents will go to see their kids advance and then kiddos that play by the books get stuck facing the athletes that r a product of their parents cheating.
-
How is it that Bostons dad is able to get away with video recording cash/whitten at regionals, it gets discussed on the message boards and nothing is done? Seems like he's got his hands in a lot of peoples' pockets. Sad.

Mine is like this too. I have made comments and they are not there. I figured I just don't know what I'm doing. ???

Coach Tonte vs pairings table

Did Ellis wrestle Whitten at Warren on Sat.
No. Roncolli had someone else at 106.
-
What does it really matter. I told you weeks ago at 106 whitten beat smith at the franklin invite and you haven't made any changes. Or is it just for information at this point? If changes aren't going to reflect results why shoulld anyone care?

Who do you think is gonna do it this year? Possible top 8 in each weight class????
-
Is the rankings part still down?
-
103 Boston
112 LeCount
119 Welch
125 McKiney
130 Molloy
135 (Coin Flip) there are about 10 kids in this bracket that could be state champions almost any given year
140 Rueger for 2nd but Tsirists
145 Roach
152 Welch
160 Welch
171 Stein
189 Silga Stud
215 Reese
Hwt Suter
LeCount is a great kid but he is not going to place at State this year because he lost a tough match in the ticket round at Semi State.

The ref called a pin after the clock had stopped and had been stopped for several seconds.
-
103 - #16 over #12 in finals round 10-4
not mind blowing but interesting.
-
??? What do you call a walk through then? Couldn't have been much more dominant
Walk through, Blow out I would think looks like a Tech in the first period or even the second like he has with most everyone else, or a pin within seconds as we have seen in some others. There were 20 sec left when he got the tech fall in the finals match. There is still time for some of these newer wrestlers to learn.

Loe - right. My point was to the person above who said they thought it was a shame that indiana had to "resort down to semi state qualifiers" and whitten was one of the 'resorted down to semi state qualifiers' although he won his match with a major and some of the state qualifiers didn't win. In this case it wasn't to big of a shame it was a w for indiana.
