  1. I do not see a single Bellmont coach on here complaining. Actually you never read any posts by a Bellmont coach saying yea or nay. They are and have been a class act through and through. To say Bellmont does not train and just complain is a little ignorant. If you have issues with a Bellmont fan complaininng fine (yet isn't that what a discussion board is for..if and buts?) you can call them out but not the program.

didnt mention anyone directly associated with the bellmont program; i cant even name one person who is actually associated with bellmont.  some particular bellmont fan (decbell) was on here whining (A LOT) though and i thought whoever he/she was should be called out because he/she disrespected every other 2A team who was invited and wrestled their tails off by claiming bellmont was better than them (not to mention disrespecting the people who organized this great event - the IHSWCA) ...i know nothing about the bellmont program and i bet they are training hard considering they are wrestlers from a historically dominant program, but a fan was on here complaining they didnt get invited which makes the entire program look bad.  anyone who knows anything about wrestling could easily come to the conclusion he isnt directly associated with the program because he is a whiner - whiners get chased off by good programs.

  2. Our team made it to the state finals last year, what did yours do????? How much better were we supposed to do?

We didnt get invited, what else is there to do besides wonder how we would have done? I feel comfortable saying Bellmont would fall in line behind Danville and Yorktown, and right even or slightly above Ev Memorial

yeah, congrats to bellmont's team on last year.  tim tebow was a playoff hero last year, congrats to tim tebow on last year. and if "my team" didnt wrestle in a tournament i would also be very comfortable saying they wouldve finished wherever. if tebow had started all year the jets would be undefeated right now

  3. The teams that should be "whining" are teams like North Montgomery and Fremont who both beat top 3 teams this year so far. It seems those teams either don't have a huge IndianaMat following or aren't the whining type.

yeah, sounds like it.  considering it was the first year the IHSWCA has had to organize something like this, i think they did a very good job.  it couldnt have been an easy job trying to select the best 8 teams from each class, and every year they will get better at doing it.

  4. Lets put it this way, had Bellmont been invited, they probably would have been seeded second if they used the computer rankings

winners train, losers complain...make sure your team is good enough at wrestling next year so getting invited isnt even a question,  or keep whining extra loud on internet message boards hoping that whoever sends the invites get so annoyed they invite bellmont.

  5. There is no way any normal adult can think having deformed ears is cool...someone should do a study if IQ and cauliflower ear have any correlation

Look around people, no people in power are deformed. Wear your head gear.

  6. Willis is a young sophomore (still 15).  He has a reputation for being humble, courteous, and respectful.  He honors the sport of wrestling by choosing to participate in it outside of his football season.

I know enough about Tyler Willis to know that, if the tables had been turned, and ?

--if Willis had continued a potentially dangerous move well beyond the referee?s whistle, and

--if, by doing so, Willis had caused another wrestler to suffer a significant physical injury the day that wrestler was expected to compete for the state championship, and

--if his injured opponent had been told by the IHSAA doctor that he had a dislocated shoulder and must not continue the match,

    then ?

Tyler Willis would have gracefully lost as his opponent?s hand had been raised.  He would have been disappointed, and you would have seen it on his face, but he would have been a model of composure for the young wrestlers in the stands.  He would not have run out of the arena in a childish fit.  He would not have taunted the injured wrestler as they walked to the podium.  He would have been very concerned, and sorry, about any unintentional physical injury he had caused to a fellow wrestling comrade on such an important day.

What scares me, really scares me, is that I?m reading so much hatred and divisiveness that I am afraid that, if the situation had truly been reversed, and it was Willis who had caused injury to Vlahos, and Willis had been determined the loser, Willis still would have been booed.

Cathedral is a school made up of human beings who are no different from the rest of us. The reasons some parents choose a parochial school are many, complex, and private.

Saturday night at Conseco, I witnessed Willis?s family bringing an elderly, wheelchair-bound man to the evening round.  I presumed it was his grandfather.  My heart aches for this elderly man, who witnessed cruel, unjust outbursts against his grandson.  It is some consolation that the grandfather also saw his grandson?s maturity and composure, and must know in his heart that the most important life lessons have been passed on and will endure.

Great post.  You find a little bit about someones character when they win, and everything when they lose...both Willis and vlahos lost their last match, and I guess their true character showed on the podium...I don't know either kid, but to do that in front of that many people is wrong. vlahos could have been the biggest pissed off i-got-screwed guy ever in the locker room and lots of people wouldve understood, but when youre on that podium ur supposed to act graciously...

Everyone should feel bad for vlahos, but I don't understand why that has to coupled with hostility and disrespect for a kid who obviously was not the one making the decision in the semis.

It's sad that one of indianas greatest capturing his 3rd titile is being overshadowed by this.

Obviously, Mater Dei?s program is and has been at the top in Indiana for some time.

But using your logic, Mater Dei wouldn?t meet YOUR strict definition of an ?elite? program, since they brought ten wrestlers to Semi-State (one more than Franklin), and advanced ?only? two (same as Franklin) . . .

Just the mention by lowsingle of Franklin brought out your quick, negative response.

Whose team were you at the Semi-State to support?

I was there to observe and enjoy good wrestlin.. brining only 2 to state is not elite, but what team I root for and how many SQs md has has nothing to do with how good a program is...my argument is for a program to be elite they have to win elite level matches, elite programs win when it counts year in and year out...simple as that

  8. Yes, franklins program is very nice...but are they elite? No...and I'm talking about how almost all their wrestlers had a shot in the ticket round, and didn't punch it...elite programs punch their tickets if they have a chance....and I was not even talking about kief...I meant how one after the other got beat

But if u wanna talk about kief, we can  :)
