I hope it's better than that Cena thing that just came out.
Yikes. That was tough to watch. I watched it on Netflix last night.
Acting, plot and wrestling were all horrible.

Was anyone other than C. Ervin missing from UC's lineup?
Was it the same lineup they used at Castle?

chambers,
Do you think Zeke Harmon should wrestle at 140 or 145? I couldn't get a solid answer from Coach Packer.
He's also someone (as you know) that didn't wrestle last year, but was tough two years ago.
-
I'm not sure that Dylan Bender is really unknown. Your right that last year he was behind Weiss but as a freshman and sophomore he was a varsity wrestler. As a sophomore he had a record of 31- 12.
Meh....he's still "little known" IMO, but I understand he's not first-year.
How are things at Tecumseh?
My HH wrestling preview story comes out Wednesday. I'll link it then.
285-???
215-Boehm
189-Bender
171-Oser
160-Rickenbaugh
152-Hawkins
Such a shame Clayton Begle battled back from one knee injury to play in just two football games, then injured the other knee. I think he's going to try to get back in time for the sectional, but it's doubtful--not to mention it would be nearly impossible to not wrestle an entire season, then jump in at the sectional.
Sorry for getting side-tracked, but there are some names above that could advance to the Evansville regional.
-
I had been told that Mt. Vernon is hosting a tourney on Dec. 4th that is supposed to have Pike Central, Southridge, and Mater Dei. The person who told me may have been mistaken, so I can be for sure
Heritage Hills is also in it--unless things have changed since I got their team schedule two weeks ago.
-
Dylan Bender of Heritage Hills wrestled behind Jeff Weiss. Bender, a senior, is moving to 189 this year.
-
Oser from HH will be at 171 this year.
-
other teams that need mention would be Evansville Memorial(top 5),Heritage Hills,Jasper,Mt. Vernon(Posey),Jimtown,New Pal, and how about Boonville.
I agree about Heritage Hills.
They should be a solid team after being runner-up in the Castle sectional last year.
Dylan Bender could make some noise in 189. It's my understanding he wrestled Weiss very competitively in practices last season.
-
Heritage Hills opens in a dual at Princeton Nov. 30. HH should be more solid across all of its weight classes compared to last year. I'm not sure what Castle has back, so the sectional could be very interesting for HH, which was second last year.
On Dec. 4 HH is in the Mount Vernon Five-Way. Does anyone know who the other teams are?
-
This has been a good team coming..... as they were very good at the middle school level 4-5 years ago. I think that many coaches in southern Indiana expected these kids to make some noise. Kudos to the Patriots (the alma mater of Jay Cutler!)
And of Jon Goldsberry.
Weiss broke Goldsberry's wins record in the second meet of the year.
Coach Matt Thompson has created a solid base for upcoming years.
Dylan Bender weighed in at 170, but wrestled at 189 due to the regular being sick. Bender, who wrestles Weiss every day in practice may be one of the best 171 reserves in the state. Going 4-1 and giving up 19 pounds is no easy feat.
A little background story about HH wrestling (and football)...
There had been some resistance from the football players in the past to wrestle due to weight/strength concerns.
There are now a number of football players who wrestle for the Patriots (Luebbehusen, Maldonado, Hawkins, Terry, etc...).
I'd look for HH to make some noise individually in the middle and upper weight classes in the near future.
-
No respect for the Patriots?
-
Heritage Hills took the team victory. Jeff Weiss 171-pounds and Kyle Luebbehusen 285 won class championships.
Weiss was voted Most Outstanding Wrestler.

I thought I was going crazy, because the 145-pound ratings were gone.
