Here is another 1 from Merrillville
160 Alex White Mishawaka SQ defaulted to 4th
Could Draw Sean McMurray Portage 2x Champ or Cameron Vhalos Laf Harrison(Vhalos and White had a 1-0 match this year) or he could draw Justin Slosser Munster
He is hurt pretty bad, been hurtin since the NIC Super Dual. Little to no practice since. Torn chest cartiledge, slipped disk, and lower back strains. I'd be surprised is he wrestled this weekend at all, in an attempt to get healthier for Team State.

ccbig,
your absolutely right.. penn was super underrated and has some real talent.. i wish them the best of luck... i know some of the kids personally and it shows why they are tough wrestlers, i know harper has them working and they'll be real tough next year as well when the manspeakers and others of the team grow
-
yeah, penn wrestled tough that night.. but that stalling warning given to binion was unwarranted, so layten got frustrated and shot the hardest blast double to his back.. congrats to chapple on capitalizing but "pin" is totally correct on how different the score could've been w/ an extra point onto any of the matches, which didn't happen but thats why its a message and discussion board to discuss our thoughts on how it went or how close it was.. no one is whining or taking credit away from where credit is due

The only thing is Kunzee and White have split and Quiroz and McMurray are in the Same regional so they could draw some one like White or Vhalos in the Ticket Rd
White and kunze haven't split they wrestled once at the Al Smith and White won a 5-4 decision w/ 2 neutral points against a game kunze though. Kunze bumped and wrestled 171 for the duel meet in which White wrestled and beat Hummer.

watchin live as a mishawaka fan vs. perry... it was ridiculous 40 points before they score a point and eddy got caught to give up our first points.. tonte threw a headlock to catch stahl and the match is over.. that has to be one of the biggest differentials in a 1-2 matchup ever.. nonetheless it was great to beat up perry like that and even better after the match some younger arrogant perry fathers had to ruin the hospitality of the other perry fans that we were sittin amongst, after stahl got pinned they decided to wanna try to start a fight w/ mishawaka fans?? ha it was one of the most idiodic things i've ever seen after they get blown out of the gym they wanna "go outside" like i wasn't enough to get dominated on the mat. Good luck to perry the rest of the way though

hammer, you are more than entitled to have ur opinion. However, even with me being a rather biased mishawaka fan, I still think that Mishawaka will not have that easy of a time against Merillville. Some teams just match up better with other teams. I mean honestly, Penn seemed to match up well with Mishawaka during their dual meet and gave Misahwaka their toughest test this year, however, Penn got their butts handed to them this weekend to teams that Mishawaka handed their butts to. I truly think Merrillville can give Mishawaka the run for their money IF they start at the right weightclass, and IF mishawaka does not wrestle up to their full potential.
I agree w/ merriville being the toughest matchup for mishawaka in the state, and also i am a mishawaka fan. Penn was the toughest test to date, but binion pinned himself after dominatin the entire match, winning by more than 10 gettin a stalling warning then blast doublin his kid so hard he rolled through to his back so the score should've been a ten point swing more towards mish and penn wrestled to keep it close and they succeeded but i never felt threatened by what penn brought to the table that night. stay off your back and thats what they did. merriville has threats for sure but mish are confident and will get up for merriville if they get a shot at them. Crown point beatin merriville is wild to me because they didnt belong on the mat w/ mish at calumet and everyone is sayin merriville is the team to beat mish. shows how important matchups really are

as referenced earlier that "powerhouses" look for experienced coaches ia not completely true because our school, a perennial power, has many just graduated assistants.. our coach loves our kids just graduated or not and if they have something to bring to the betterment of the team, they will get certified but thats all because our coach has so much pull in the school system. we've never had a problem w/ any of them helping out and many of them don't have "proper" accolades to be coaching but they are great help and greatly appreciated by everyone in our wrestling community

I think Schrader beats Trent.
The nick of this year is tough, dont get me wrong, but trent was good all four years and was super underrated while he was around.

I say Ayersman gets the win over Beck. Should be a good one to watch. Also how about the Stahl vs. Corpe match, That should be a real good! These 2 have been practice partners the last few years maybe more depending on MS and weight. I had heard that Stahl always handled Corpe in practice. Now we get to see those 2 go at it. There is a big difference between wrestling somebody in practice and a real match(if its true). Lets hear some picks! Also Ill take Cleveland over Lentz. This should be a good one, should be able to keep people from leaving early with that match up.
Corpe is at 160 anyway for the Al Smith.. word is he wants no part of stahl.. Stahl wants him though

Schrader was deep in on a shot and ran him out of bounds also.. first time i've ever seen tsirtsis steppin backward

Thats a little ridiculous to say about Al, he is a damn good wrestler, while Sean is great no doubt about it. Al is a Mishawaka wrestler so he is no slouch by any stretch of the imagination. I'd love to watch Al at full strength wrestle him. In no way am i sayin he would beat him. But thats one of the best first round semi-state matchups out there.
