Since there is no governing body for middle school sports, it's totaly up each individual middle school on that issue. I know several middle schools who do allow it. The best thing to do is talk with you're middle schools AD and see what they say. It's woorth a try at least and it only helps you're program in the long run.

I think the only way to seperate them out would be to have seeding. That would just open up a can of worms that has been thouroughly debated. Some middle school seasons are still in progress, including ours. Blind draw is probably the best way to do this. Some get a favorable draw some don`t. We have all been on both sides of that.
No I totaly agree with you, there is no fair way to seed each weight at this age. The ones who lost showed true grit and fought their way back not caring who stood in their way and got the job done. My yhat is off each and every wrestler there. They all put their all into each and every match, Nice job by all.

Wow Randle beat Campbell and Gonzales. So you guys can doubt him all you want but the kid is the real deal and will make an impact down state. Just keep feeding the machine because he doesn't care what you people think. He only has one goal and that is to be a state champ and beat who ever is in his way.

It was a great day by all who were there, wrestlers, coaches, parents, volunteers and refs. We were able to see some great matches and some POOR Draws in some loaded weights.
I just wish that who ever, could have took a long look at some of the weight classes and done a better job of separating that top kids in that class. I know for instance that the 110 class, was loaded in the bottom bracket with the states three best kids facing each other in rounds two, and three. I felt sorry for those boys and for the one?s who had to face anyone of them in the wrestle backs. With that congratulations to Cody Lecount 1st, Tommy Forte wrestle back for true second, and Kyle Jolas 4th, both close losses to Tommy.
I wish it could have worked out different in the bracketing.

They have to beat Peru first. I wouldn't count your eggs first
If I remember correctly Huntington beat them handly at the Peru duals with out all of their kids. Now with a full line-up, Huntington beats them AGAIN with even more team points.

Nice job by Huntington North winning the NCC and coack Eckart on being named coach of the year. He and his staff have been doing a great job all year with their kids, doing with out the help of a CIA or any other type of assistance just developing their own home grown kids into winners.
Champs for HN
103 - Heirs
112 0 Randle
125- Newsom
145- Hiple
285 - Cooper
2nd Placers
119 - Eckart
189 - Morton
215 - Evans
Can't remember the rest but they did have a few 3rd's as well all in all every one from the team placed.

. Logan Randle beat Campbell 1-0 at Huntington yesterday. Great match, but congrats to Randle. The kid has been working hard all year, and should be a factor down state.Travis Thatcher now 31-0 and an NHC Champ.
You can also take Campbell from New Castle off of your list.
-
My predictions:
103: S. Lloyd, Marion
112: Campbell, New Castle
119: Catron, New Castle
125: Newsome: Huntington North
130: Mullins, New Castle
135: Williams, Marion ( my upset pick)
140: Fellers, New Castle
145: Heucham, Muncie Central
152: Duke, Marion
160: Z. Lloyd, Marion
171: Wasson, New Castle
189: Scott, Marion
215: Green, Kokomo
285: Cooper, Huntington North
Team Champs: New Castle with Huntington North and Marion battling for second and third.
The only change I have or see is Hiple, Huntington North winning 145

Cooper wont be beastly when Reich From Preu gets him at Sectionals. Reich is going hwt starting at sectionals is the word and i herd that Reich killed Cooper at the summer workouts at peru so we will see
Thats not what I saw from the few times I was at the summer workouts but who knows.... All I know is what I've see this season from Cooper and the other hwts around the area and from what I've see Cooper should control Sectionals if his heads on right.

The voice of reason thats who. Like you said they are only in 8th grade, so lets stop putting pressure on them already and let them develope into a true talent. The boys are good but but by no means ready to step into the varisty lineup right now and start making noise. Lets give them a few years in HS to adapt to that caliber of wrestling and then lets talk... Not bashing them as you said just stating facts.
-
The 8th grader who moved in from Lewis Cass and is named Even Lowe. The kid is not bad, but by no means a world beater... He will win a few matches for Hobbs but not a real factor. As for Kerns the same holds true for him as well. He will try to out muscle most of the kids but nothing more. How does the rest of the area look with in coming Freshman ?
-
Who all has Adams Central wrestled?
-
Marion would win 103, 135, 140, 152, 160, 171, 189, and 215 and possibly 130 with six of those wins coming by pin.
LOL... I guess you were wrong after watching the Weston Close, Huntington ran away with the Team title with 5 Champions and the reast of their wrestlers placing and earing those much needed team points, the same points Marion needed or will need to win or beat HN. You seem to forget that in a team turny you're not going up against just one team in the field, You have to do well against all of them and earn those extra points in the wrestle backs which is just what Huntington did even with giving up 189 and tossing in a give me at 171. It should be fun to watch this unfold as the season winds down.
-
Huntington is still in a building process and I give them props for what they have done with such a young team. Give the coaching staff time to get the ball rolling and lets see what they can do down the road, but what I do know it they are a team with a large up swing, the kids they have coming in over then next few years will make the tough from top to bottem with the true meat in the middle weights.
As for the Carroll met, yea I was disapointed with them sitting their studs out but a win is a win in this sport and they will take it much like any other team will do in the state. I know that Huntingtons coaches were not happy with the out come either but they felt that even with Carrolls top guys in the line up they had a real chance of winning and they did just that, nice job coaches.
Best of luck to all the teams this season but lets not down anyone on their effort to win, let them do all their talking on the mat where it counts.

Eckert beat Gilbert by throwing headlock with 3 seconds left. Gilbert had him on his back pinned the whole thrid period, but the ref never called it.
-
Randle from Huntington is wrestling really good this year. Look for him to be in the finals at 112lbs.
