Konrath stays #1. I agree with the other post, he strengthened his spot with mental toughness today.

Haha your right we could except I'm at home. I also think Paul and his family are great people and and have a great deal of respect for them.I wasn't trying to inflate Ferguson's win just report how I saw it. We all have different points of views. You guys are within 100 feet of each other... Just talk it out- cell phones are ruining our social skills and communication amongst humans in general. Have some fresh popcorn and talk it out guys. ;D kudos to MV coaching and Paul for seizing the opportunity. Great match for them both.

I didn't mean Paul didn't wrestle technical at all!!!!!! But if we're calling a spade a spade I'll bite. Ferguson controlled Paul in the first and second period. Which is why he had a 9-1 lead after 2 periods. Paul is a well rounded very technically sound wrestler without question. And by flurry I'm saying all Pauls points came in the 3rd period with a minute or so left. Not that he didn't earn those points, he did. And as for the stalling call, I'm not so sure that should have been made. Ferguson was in on the leg with 20 second and no real advantage to either wrestler. I however loved that Paul stepped up and took the challenge instead of trying to protect a spotless record. I know the history those boys have between them and I applaud Paul for wrestling Ferguson. It ultimately was good for both too wrestle each other and push each other. Will only strengthen them come tournament time! Good luck to Paul the rest of this year, I will be cheering for him at state too bring home a championship.

Ferguson wins 9-5 with a last minute flurry by Konrath to make it close.

Konrath bumps uo to wrestle Ferguson at 113. End of first period its Ferguson 4-0.

Tanner left school throwing up yesterday. He is Davis' wrestling partner and Josh left the Columbus meet Saturday throwing up. Guess their passing it around the room.North has some kids with good records that are not on the list. Nick Burke, 120, 20-2 and Ryan Francis, 195, 13-6 .
I haven't seen these kids? Where do they fall in the mix?
I know Reitz's Tanner Bruce is solid and has had a good year at 126. He was not listed as wrestling against MD. What's his story?
Wrestleman- Ramsey and Davis hook up tomorrow in Mt. Vernon. It will be interesting to see how far Ramsey has come and if he has anything for Davis. I expect that Davis will be highly motivated.

I should have put fall in the rankings not out of them completely. My bad, its hard to do my job and type on a pbone while proof reading in but a few seconds. Sorry!

I can see two scenarios going down between them. One-Micic beats him but its close so Lee moves up a little in National ranks. And two-Lee beats Micic and Micic and Lee both fall out of the rankings. Number two would happen because most writers will think maybe they over ranked Micic if a freshman beats him. I know of all of Lees resume and I'M not saying he isn't deserving of being highly ranked. Matter of fact I think he should be in the top 10 in the nation. I'm just saying that there are a ton of other wrestlers that have done 3-4 years of high school and have similar resumes as Lee and a sports writer from another area would be more inclined to drop Micic.
If I were Lee I would just focus on the mat and let the rest shake itself out. No one in Indiana has a doubt that Micic and Lee are a step above, maybe more than everyone else. I'm just looking forward to the match up should it happen, sbould be a barn burner.

I'm not knocking DJ, he is a very, very good wrestler and did beat Ferguson last year no doubt. I would've loved to watch it with Ferguson healthy tho. And I didn't say he would have last year or would beat DJ this year. I just made a prediction that Ferguson would place and a statement he was hurt last year. Best of luck to DJ and I wish himthe best of luck on his run this year.I've heard a lot of people saying things were wrong with T-ferg but the bottom line is Smith beat him hurt or not.... Let's not take anything away from DJ he's a great kid and great wrestler. And smith looks great this year I expect it to be a very close match but I'm taking smith because of the tougher schedule and better workout partners.

Not everyone knows that Ferguson hurt his thumb last year at regionals and wrestled semi-state basically with one arm. I look for him to be standing high on the podium, how high is the question. He lost to Smith by 1-2 in ticket match without the use of his dominant right hand last year. Look for him to place!

Not sure why Davis would want to drop too 126. With Micic (2 time champ), Z. Davis (runner up), Lee ( could be 4 time champ) and 7 other very seasoned wrestlers with at least SQ status filling out the top 10. Only weight class that's tougher would be 120, with the top 14-15 being SQ status or better. J. Davis is a senior and its his last year to try for an elusive championship. Would be much tougher road at 126 instead of 132, but anything is possible. Willis at 120 or 126 is possible. Kid is quick on his feet but will be over matched after semi-state. But hey he's only a freshman and I think his best chance to get to state is at 126. Too many high caliber wrestlers at 126 after semi-state. But I could se him being a SQ if brackets fall in his favor at 126. I don't think J. Davis just wants to get to state this year, he wants to win and 132 is his best shot.Alright back to the wrestling discussion...anybody heard of guys changing weights? I've seen Willis ranked at 120 in the Semi State but been wrestling 126, also heard Davis might drop to 126? Any word on these guys or anybody else?

Damn right I'm taking it personally! If I called your kid an "incurably mentaly weak" wrestler you'd take offense also. And I never said pat a kid on the back. I said look to the good stuff (ie memorial was impressive, Blackwell showed why he's ranked nationally). You however made a point of calling out Reitz. A cowardly thing to do behind your screen name. MD is a very, very good team. Many impressive kids. Thats how you post. People like you are detrimental to the sport, always pointing out the negative to make yourself sound brilliant, you should know it does the opposite.physical injuries have nothing to do with mental strength - i hope he's ok. every wrestler sacrifices every time he walks out there. i didnt mean to insult any kids i was just describing what i saw. the SIAC outside of MD and a few central/reitz guys is very down. reitz, outside of a few kids, is either very bad overall or didnt show up in the 2 important duals (i.e. - they showed themselves to be weak mentally)...every program has down years, and this is one for reitz from what i saw. you are taking it too personally - patting kids on the back for losing just reinforces losing

Nail on the head. Full of himself. Not very Christian. That is all.Congratulations on being a very classless spokesperson for a very proud wrestling school. It pains me to think there are adults in this world with such disdain for other kids from the same community. We know Mater Dei is a great program. I celebrate their program as much as I do all the other SIAC schools. Good grief man people compliment and praise your schools program and kids and you still insult them. Merry Christmas, Indy, Perhaps Santa will bring you some humility.

Johaan, great job insulting a group of kids. From your comments I can tell you have a stellar personality. Mentally weak huh, was the 195 mentally weak when the Trinity kid head butted him in the mouth and ended his season. Or the 126 that continued to wrestle after his shoulder was dislocated and win his match. You need to watch what and how you speak about wrestling kids, Reitz or otherwise. Every kid on the mat today sacrificed to be there, good, bad or indifferent. My hats off to every single wrestler there today, including your kid. Next time try pointing out the good instead of dwelling on the bad. I guess whatever it takes for you to feel better about yourself.

Any updates???? Anyone?????
-
Great match in rd two between Boles of Mooresville and Noble from Center Grove. Boles wins but not without working for it. Good looking kids at 126.
-
Josh Davis of Reitz is 132
-
Working today so I'm trying to get my wrestling fix. Can anybody help out?
-
Great job with the updates! Thank you and please keep them coming.
-
I have to agree with you. Hard to call a kid that's 44 and zero a dark horse but shhhhhh he may sneak up on some people.I haven't watched any other 106s, but Tyler Ferguson from Reitz is a machine. I don't think I've seen him break a sweat yet. He will be a lot of fun to watch in the tournament.

Who cares how you see it!I am in the who cares what happened last week. From most peoples predictions for Castle sectional champions the Panther should have no trouble walking off the mat with the trophy Saturday afternoon. Panther nation should be thankful that they will be dealing with those "Super Quick Castle Wrestlers", and not the Mater Dei Wildcat this weekend. Well that's how I see it. ;D
-
I apologize then for my remark. No sarcasm. They all looked very good last night. Dominate even
-
I think I smell sarcasm. Considering two of them are sophomores, and one (Ferguson) could be a freshman your sarcasm is weak at best.Yes, all three of them looked very good against MD's freshman.

Lost the 195 for the year due to a vicious head butt at the Harrison 10-way. Lost the 138 to a season ending knee surgery after their 2nd tournament of the year. Basically lost the 126 to a dislocated shoulder at the Harrison 10-way. He sat for 3 weeks then hurt it again at SIAC, but never did recover. Plus add in Todrank somehow magically appeared at Gibson Southern and the Resse boy didn't wrestle this year. They only lose 3 seniors so 11 returning plus all the back-ups that got quality varsity matches this year should make for a very good room next year. Down my friend but not out! You forget that they beat MD a few years back and everyone said MD was done, now we know that's hardly the case don't we! Don't be so quick to count them out. Should we count Central out because they lose Kelly, the heart of the team?
