Sounds like an awesome tournament! So will the team state champion be rewarded from the individual state championship this year?
-
I will try and get some more specifics on the upcoming event in Warsaw and the name of the company putting on the show. Jared and his upcoming opponent faced off in the ring at the end of the show. They got in each others face pretty good. Both seem pretty cocky or confident in their abilities, which will make for a pretty good fight!

I watched Jared in a submission wrestling match about 3 weeks back at the Armory in Warsaw. He was suppose to have an MMA fight but didn't happen for some reason so they ended up having a submission wrestling match. He hit the sweetest firemans carry on his opponent. It was so fast the guy didn't know what hit him. I think Jared ended it with an arm bar. His quickness blows me away everytime I watch him. He is suppose to fight for the belt in July I think.

I guess 9 out of 14 isn't bad!
I was impressed with Glogouski 103 from Fairfield.
Que 112 for Elkhart Central dominated his match.
Kolakowski 160 for Fairfield was very impressive.
Spears 215 for Elkhart Memorial was dominate.
The semi-final match between Ntende and Ruizvelasco at 140 was the best match I watched!
Impressed overall with Fairfield! When I wrestled in the late 80's early 90's Fairfield wasn't very competitive! They seem to get better every year. I would say their coaches have done an excellent job over the past couple years with the program! Good job Fairfield team and coaches!

"No Neck" Nick Crume 8)
Nice Greg Warren reference! Appropriately he is an ex-wrestler! Nice!

Who beat Stahl in the sectional, regional and semi-state?
Did Stahl wrestle in college?
I also hope Abu-shehab places high at state!
-
Is Danny Abu-shehabs record really 25-20? If so this kid hit his stride at the right time! That is awesome!
What is the worst record of a kid that won state?
Has anyone not won sectional, regional, or semi-state and won state?
Any other odd info anyone can add would be great!
-
At least they could keep the brackets updated! I remember them saying they have to sometimes run the feed from aircards. I can see that being a real problem been inside ft wayne coliseum. Any individual updates from anyone would be awesome! Thanks!
-
I am not able to get video for more than 5 seconds then nothing. Is there another website that is giving live updates? This sucks!!

Wrestled 140lbs. senior year in 1992!
Now 210 - 220lbs!
Hopefully on my was to around 185lbs! The swiss cake rolls are so good though!
-
I noticed that Francisco Garcia of Goshen did not wrestle at the Goshen Regional. He was a sectional champ. Anyone know why he didn't wrestle today?

Goshen Coach Pickard against the Refs when he doesn't get every call
That is funny stuff!!!
-
Does anyone know of any possible good matches at the Goshen Regional? The only possible one I see is Corpe vs Larowe in the finals at 152. Probably because I do not know much about the teams from the Westview sectional.
-
This is far from true. Many refs are much more lenient with stalling than others. Just because it isn't called doesn't mean it's not happening. It's not a black and white call.
What I am saying is when points are being rewarded and stalling is being call the ref makes that call. If he doesn't award points or call stalling it didn't happen on the scoreboard even if it did happen in reality! You can't leave the match in the ref's hands to decide!
-
Busstogate, which coach do you predict will display his rage?
-
Stalling is up to the ref to call, not a fan in the stands! If the ref doesn't call stalling there is no stalling in the match. Like someone said earlier countering is a wrestling technique as well. As long as he isn't cocky and does his talking on the mat I wish him luck on Saturday!

To smooth34:
He weighed in for 160 not 152! If he would have weighed in for 152 he would have had the option of wrestling 152 or 160! Really he could go either weight class at NLC and be the champ pretty easily! I was very impressed with his speed and power vs. Garcia. I am anxious to see where he places at Conseco!
-
A Goshen coach said that Corpe weighed in 160 and tried to wrestle 152. If he would have weighed in at 152 he could have wrestled either from what I am told. Corpe was a beast though! He controlled the whole match against a pretty strong opponent in Garcia. He would have done the same at 152 also!
The 189 match was pretty crazy! Couldn't tell if Sappington drove Dillenbeck off the mat or their momentum carried them off the mat. Dillenbeck ended up going to the hospital after finishing the match. Hope everything is okay with him!
For Goshen Maynard 112 and Clark at heavy wrestled very tough. Should be an interesting NLC tourney on Saturday!!!!!!!!
