  1. You've yet to answer my question.

    Give us your Jeff Classic line up - - - - -

HAHA TripleB you make me laugh, i feel like you are mad because i said to eliminate Madison! thats funny!

The only reason why I would keep Jennings county is that they are a tougher team that is close by!

since you've asked for my DREAM tournament here it is, some of these teams you may not recognize but i dont expect you to, because you dont wanna wrestle teams that are too far away and keep it simple!

    1. Jeff

    2. Evansville Memorial

    3. Floyd Central

    4. Bloomington South

    5. father ryan (tn.)

    6. Mount Carmel (Il)

    7. Carmel

    8. Lawerence North

    9. Cathedral

    10. St. Edward (OH)

    11. Graham(OH)

    12. Mishawaka

    13. Crown point

    14. Granite City (Il)

    15. Evansville Mater Dei

    16. bloomington North

  2. I am not sure why you would want to eliminate JC. They have 9 seeeded wrestlers and now that their lineup is taking shape (kopitzke to 171, Bass to 189, wathan to 152, holley(injured all year) to 125 or 130, Schmidt to 145) this doesnt include Reusch at 119 who is still inactive. They have the makings to suprise teams that they have already faced.  Maybe a sleeper for top 5, we will see..cant wait!!! I think coach struck does a great job and this is one of the better tournments in southern indiana.

I forgot to add JC, yes preparetowin i would keep JC in there, maybe even bring in top teams from kentucky, or Ohio, Illinois! Why can't we do this?

  3. The Jeff Classic is steadily growing into a very competitive tournament. Here are a few interesting statistics from this years entries.

    7 state qualifiers/placers

    40 semi-state qualifiers

    1 ISWA Triple Crown Champ

    17 ranked wrestlers

    3 top 20 ranked teams

This should make for some very good wrestling, and I believe a tournament that should get more respect than it normally does.

But at the same time, If you cant make it to SEMI STATE with the new taking 4 from regionals, correct me if i am wrong that means winning 1 match at regionals BOOM you made it to SS. 7 state placers/qualifiers, thats good, but out of 224 kids, thats not good as a percentage of state kids to non that is .03125 percent! not very good in my oppinon. Rankings dont mean much either, its the beginning of the season. And in no way am i trying to offend anyone on here, i am just stating that i think this tournament should eliminate some of the close competition it sees every weekend.

  4. Chris Lynch does not coach at Franklin County.... And many of these teams have some very good wrestlers.

I was implying whether or not it was the Franklin community school. I know that is where he coaches at. We should get them in this tournament and not franklin county.. Im just sayin alot of these teams we already face a lot durin the year mix it up and bring in some good competition. A lot of these good wrestlers that you all say r comin, you rarely see there school or individuals in the state tournament series.

  5. Jeff, Charlestown, New Washington, Scottsburg, Madison, Jennings Co., Bloom. South, Muncie South, So. Dearborn, Paoli, Southwestern(Hanover), Carmel, Franklin Co., Batesville, New Albany & Salem.

This tournament is actually pretty weak. I would keep scottsburg, BS, MS, SD,SW(hanover), carmel, Franklin Co. (the one with chris lynch as a coach). Get rid of the rest of the teams, we see them too often and not very good competition. Get teams from up north, Cathedral, and from the west side of the state. Evansville memorial, reitz. some of those teams that would give the kids the best competition, and entertain us!

  6. JBOY

Thanks that is as clear as mud. The Bottom line is the guys that finished first  in the HHC and got the # 1 seed os because they already wrestled and the #1beat everyone else. Seeding is done on who beat who. Not on an opinion in the conference.

Jboy im sorry i cant help your stupidity,

Seeding is only done on the way the HHC duals play out, which is rediculous because seeding kids based on the results of there first matches for the conference tournament in the end doesnt give them true seeds. (no matter how hard someone tries to convinceyou that they are not done this way, dont believe them, its the way its been set up since they started the duals, its been all about seeding kids for the latter tournament) Some get better some get worse.  just because the kid gets 1st place doesnt mean he has beat everyone else! thats ignorant, styles play a factor some kids styles match up better with some other ones. Thats partially why you see 4 over 1 upsets.

  7.    So help me understand if we get 8 champions out of 14 weight classes 3 or 4 seconds in HHC individuals that is meaningless in a dual meet.  If we finish 10 or 11 guys ahead of Floyd in the individual tourney somehow all these guys are suddenly going to lose to them in a dual meet.  That logic to me is crazy.

Its quite simple, the road to the ship' in the individual conference tournament is decided merely on seeds and draws, the better draw you have the more points you are likely to score for your team, (ex: getting forfeits instead of byes, this makes you score 6 pts. to your team and 0 for the bye the other kid gets.) in an individual tournament you may not get the matchup between to teams to compare them to a dual. Ex.  Floyd and Jeff, there are some weight classes where these two teams did not wrestle. and in the case of a dual meet there is NO seeds or draws! so u wrestle heads up, u do have momentum and coaching does play apart in that too. another ex:( if you have two kids on the the same team on the mat wrestling at the same time you may not have the Best suitable coach coaching that particular wrestler. ( in other words, some coaches are better than others!) Any more illogical comments questions ill be happy to sort them out for you! :)

  8. Hold on Anteres1 I dont think you know why Floyd won in the duals last year.  Jon Clark 3rd in state was on susp. Coty Hendricks was on susp and Brett walker also. If those guys wrestle Jeff wins.

Jboy It doesnt matter, our kids were out because they did dumb things, just because we won sectionals doesnt mean we would have won in a dual. Duals and indiv. tournaments are like apples and oranges.

and yes in 2007 Jeff beat fc by like 1 or 2 points, still a win though!

  9. If that is true Jboy then floyd may have a shot at JEFF, Floyds JV team was very good last year, i believe they did beat jeff by alot. But it will come down to how those kids have matured 1 year later, and transitioned into being a varsity wrestler. I would say JC is more likely to when now, based on they headlock the hell out of people, and are likely to catch a FC or jeff kid that is just a body thrown in the lineup. It will be interesting!

  10. What happened to some of these freshmen kids that wrestled for Iu last year, and then this year they arent listed on the roster. The biggest names that come to mind are george malone, and cooper samuels. theres a few more that i cant think of. but does anyone know if they are still on the team just not listed or what?
