The team is doing well through the start of the season and already has 6 wrestlers qualified for NAIA nationals.

Just curious if anybody knows what schools some of the top big men from the past year will be attending and whether they are sticking with either wrestling or football or doing something else. This seemed like a talented bunch which could have success at the next level.

I wanted to find out when college teams usually start official practices, with actual wrestling not just conditioning. I know HS is usually the first week of November but I'm assuming colleges start sooner. Any current or former college wrestlers know the answer?

I know Daniel Bedoy came close I believe in 2000 winning Cadet freestyle and Greco but did not compete in folkstyle nationals. Congrats to Sliga for making elite company, just one more to go.

Just read this interesting interview on Time's website about repitition in practices.

Has anyone heard anything about who they are looking at for the head coaching gig. They must be close to making a decision by now or at least they should be, while there are still some decent wrestlers left out there that have not made up their mind on where to go. I have heard a few rumors about Leroy Vega's name.

Yes i go to CCSJ and they are NAIA
with the other sports they generally pay for half of the tuition which is about 5 grand total so most everyone that plays a sport gets that and pays about 2500. This is a great idea and I only wish they would have done it about two years ago when i still had some eligibilty left. They are Finishing up building a new athletic facility so until it is done(late spring) i do not know what type of faciliities they would give to wrestling. It is good school though and I majored in Criminal Justice there after transfering in.
