  1. Do you come up to a random stoplight that is horizontal, but all the other ones in Munster are vertical.

Is there a fireworks store open 365 days a year, boy those region people always have a reason to celebrate with fireworks!

Even da rat tinks da fireworks are out hand up here/ on da week before and after da 4th the sky nis lite up like bagdag during da invasion

Would it be that hard to use proper English so that it looks like people from that area learned the same language as everyone else. Granted, it is Indiana... but come on.

  2. I agree BoilerUp!  Manvswild's big complaint is that class basketball attendance is down therefore its bad.

Even if I have a different opinion than you, as long as your heart is in the right place I respect it.  The solution is the one that will make better wrestlers and make us better as a state.  Now, lets debate what will do that for 30 more pages...

  3. So the fan base is probably less now correct?  I bet no one goes to their games since they face lesser competition, right?  I bet that state championship trophy they won last year is in some storage closet at Triton too, since they didn't face the best competition to win it.

There used to be REAL pro wrestling in the US until they worried about the fans getting bored and added all that junk for entertainment. Just saying, we need to make sure were focused on the athletes, not the fans.

  4. I coach at a small school, and this is my first year but I have not seen any problem with my wrestlers being recruited.  Of my group of 4 seniors each were looked at by D2 and D3 schools, and of them only made it to state.  This is the part that confuses me about the class wrestling argument.  I mean are we trying to fool the colleges into thinking that the wrestlers at the small schools are better than they are?  Dont you guys think that a college coach will be able to pick through who is ligit, and who isn't? On that same token if the big schools are so superior to the small schools that we need to class the  competition to have the wrestlers compete wouldn't a college coach just go after a wrestler who placed in the "big" tournament.  I dont see how placing in a inferior tournament would help small school wrestlers to get looked at by colleges, they are the same wrestlers that we had before just with "trumped" up statistics.

Can you small class supports respond to buscowrestling's comments?

I agree, it was one of the most thought out and logical responses I have seen.

  5. With a name like James Park I doubt he has ancestry going back to prehistoric Korea  ::)  .  Who knows the whole story, maybe his family from NJ is stationed at a military base there.  If not, they are just trying to go to the place that gives them the opportunity to make it to the next level.

These high school age boys are so advanced, they could give the #10 team in the Big Ten a run for the money. ;D ;D ;D ;D

Ouch! Ouch! Below the belt.... I'm going to chalk up the 2nd to last place finish to the toughness of the Big Ten this year.

  6. The article mentions that the two referees will have live microphones.  That could be really interesting, although not sure how it might get in the way of the color commentating.  It's good to see that ESPN is attempting some innovation, though, to liven up the broadcast and make it more engaging for their average viewers.

I have seen a broadcast where they had done that before and mostly you'd hear the ref telling them to pick up the action.  Then the commentators would explain stalling warnings and penalty points.  But it was pretty cool

  8. I guess its been a while since I've been on the indianamat wedsite, Ill start off by sayin that no I wasn't at any off season wrestling events, but that doesnt mean that I did not improved. Wrestling isn't the only thing that I have going for me. One thing that really set me off while I was reading everything... you on here doing a lot of TALKIN. It was uncalled for to say that the only way that I would score 4 points was you letting me up 4 times. KoKo had a really great comment.  Now tell me what you think? We all can talk big, there is only one way to settle this and we all know what that is....... Most guys would have dropped the issue and congratulated the next state champ.  If you want to wrestle me again lets meet up at one of the AAU tournments.

It was fun to watch you these past couple years.  Please tell me your wrestling somewhere next year?

  9. i can't believe that blair academy has guys ranked in 11 out of 14 weight classes.  One single team has 11 guys ranked in the top 30 in the country at their respective weight. now thats impressie

What do they have, 28 national prep championships in a row.  Quite the powerhouse

  10. http://www.wrestlingusa.com/02%20wusa%20web%20root/highschoolbest/2008High%20SchoolAllClassRankings.html

I was looking at the individual rankings at USA and look at 119:

    6. Camden Eppert, 12, (Anderson Highland, IN)

    11. Brandon Wright, 11, (Indianapolis Cathedral, IN)

30T. Alex Johns, 12, (Reitz, IN)

30T. Justin Brooks, 12, (Warsaw, IN)

30T. Ethan Raley, 10, (Indian Creek, IN)

Five Indiana guys in the top 35, tough weight.

  11.

Finally, there isn't any going back after a class system is in place. The Indiana high school wrestling tournament is one of the greatest sporting events I have ever seen. It baffles me why you would want to chance screwing it up when something is that good. I realize everyone thinks they would be helping the kids, but I personally think it would be hurting them and the sport and that is why we all disagree.?

Other classed states have equal or better atmosphere at their state tournament so I think the chances of "screwing it up" are slim.

Former D1 wrestlers, college coaches and the man who oversees wrestling for the NCAA say it would benefit the kids and the sport, not just me. No offense but I value their expertise over your "feelings."

Because that is exactly 100% what they said.... The man who oversees wrestling said he liked that he wrestled in a single class, but can't argue against class wrestling. Eric McGill and Cashe Quiroga both  said they liked classless wrestling.

  12. By just looking at the thread title and the number of posts in it, you'd of thought that there was alot of people actually interested in how much success Indiana wrestling had at Big Ten's...  Until you started reading the actual posts.

Lets settle this once and for all...  Lets have all of the Class Wrestling Supporters ::) and all of the Classless Wrestling Supporters meet in an abandoned wharehouse and fight to the death.  After that, there will be no more argument because one side will no longer exist

  13. Trust me. there is WAY more money out there for academics.  If you get good grades and do well on the ACT/SAT, Purdue will be kind enough to give you $8,000 a year  ;D  Plus, if you have other scholarships, that money just goes in the bank  ;D  Just concentrate on school

  14. I'm going to be honest I hate that everyone bad taks Harper. If his shoulder had not gotten hurt we all know that he would be a four time state champ. But bad things happen to good people. He is a class act. He has never done anything unsportsman like to make people hate him. I also say this from a view point of someone who has seen him wrestle in person for the past four years. His team eliminated mine from team regionals last year and i still have the utmost respect for the guy. Good job Josh prove them all wrong and good luck in college.

I think to say that if his shoulder had not gotten hurt we all know that he would have been a four time state champ is a pretty bold statement.  I believe that if his shoulder had not gotten hurt, his chances would have been BETTER. However, Porras was within 1 point last year and we all know anything can happen at conseco under the lights.

I'll say it.. I think Harper would have gotten his 4th had he been healthy.  I cringe at the thought of wrestling 30 something matches with that injury.  I dont think a lot of ppl could have done it.

  15. No doubt Quiroz came to Wrestle, however last time I checked the way Quiroz dropped Stein was called a "slam".  Ya know, where the feet are clearly taken over the head??  Hat's off to Quiroz for wrestling tough, but he should have lost that match, that is if the ref's actually called by the rules.  Congrats to Stein as well, Great Season this year.  Look for both of these guys to up there with all the contenders next year....very impressive underclassmen at a 152 weight class ruled by juniors & seniors.

What are you talking about? Good takedowns have the feet go above the head.  Go take dance lessons, this is wrestling
