Anyone who practices BJJ knows there is a "headlock" type manuever (side choke) that can easily cut off blood to the brain while still having an arm.

 

Did I miss that  BJJ  clinic? How many high school wrestlers are  practicing  jiu-jitsu? This is wrestling so... Why are we using illegal jiu-jitsu holds??

You'd be quiet surprised on how many high school wrestlers are into a form of martial arts recently. I think if you do a typical headlock it's kind of hard to purposely choke out the person you're wrestling with just because of the position you fall in when trying to pin them.

I do have to say that fight was pretty sick. From my point of view it looked like one of the kids got a cheap shot off to the back of the others head while they were walking into the locker room. Didn't think they'd be coming back to wrestle.

Hm.. It does seem like 145 is missing, but all of the other finals should be there. Some may be labeled wrong, but I'm not sure.

Youtube actually has every match, I like how Mullins is extremely focused on his foot.

If you haven't seen it yet. Either Cody Fellars or Connor Mullins is the first picture in the state set on the home page. The singlet with the white trojan heads is personally my least favorite. It's seems more of a back-up singlet than anything.

He looked good the last time I saw him. He's happy he can finally eat.  ;D

Oh, I see.. What type of music is Sense Field? I'll have to look them up later.

I decided to mix things up in the wrestling room this year during practices.  I was tired of the same old stuff:  AC/DC, Ozzy, and all that other old music.  So I decided to make up a mix CD that had some newer artists on it with bands such as: Motion City Soundtrack, Sense Field, The Used, Brand New. The guys seemed to enjoy the new stuff here and there.  I know I did. 

Would that one band happen to be Senses Failed?  ;D They have a few good songs.

I don't remember the exact numbers, but I'm sure there were 3 spots in the smaller gym. Then in the field house I believe there were 6 or 8 spots.

Alex Catron v. Storm Cosby should be a good match. From what I know they're friends, don't know who is better out of the two though.

Wow... When I went through this list I was not expecting to see a kid from my hometown to be on here. Zach Horan from Nazareth, PA. I've never met him though, wish I could find out more about him.

 

Are you kidding me? Harvey was about to cry because his coaches didn't let him wrestle.

If this is the case then I apologize for being ignorant and not knowing the full situation. There's other things I'd like to say, but don't exactly know how to word them without coming off as bad as I did earlier. I just hope we finally get to see them wrestle later on.

McKinley is the darkhorse in that semistate.  He went toe-to-toe with Mullins at ISWA FS state but fell short.

From what I heard Campbell can beat Mullins so if McKinley wrestles Campbell it should be an interesting match. I don't mean to bad mouth any wrestlers, but I lost a little respect for Harvey. He refused to wrestle Campbell because he didn't want to lose. I understand you don't ever really want to lose, but you win some you lose some.

Will Arsenal wrestle New Castle? I spoke to a kid from there and he said that Dominique Price is pretty big too.
