  1. From everything that I've read and seen Hoosier Elite Wrestling Academy is the only Indiana team that wrestles in the District All-Star Division. The District All Star Division is incredibly tough and consists of teams made up of mostly wrestlers that are state champions and state placers from other teams. I know that Coach Miracle of Hoosier Elite (and Head Coach of All Navy Wrestling Team)takes a team every year. I have heard that once you go with Hoosier Elite you have the first option the following year to go. I am not sure how many returners he has but, I know most of his team was at the state meet this year...something like 15 of the 16 kids he took. I am not sure how things will work out with the weight class changes from last year. The associated cost is relatively low and there has always been a technique/intensive camp associated with Hoosier Elite. Last year they had a technique camp with Rob Eiter http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rob_Eiter in the mornings and an intensive conditioning/live camp with Coach Miracle in the afternoons for like four or five days before leaving. I heard the technique from Eiter was incredible and the intensive portion was grueling and included tractor tires, cross country runs, pool workouts, etc. Everyone seems to love it and all the kids come back better wrestlers. I only know all of this because my son and some of his friends have been on that team. They loved the experience and really enjoyed Coach Miracle's coaching style. His email is lmiracle20@msn.com

  2. Not sure about the other academies but I think that it's worth noting that Hoosier Elite Wrestling Academy in Bloomington got all  but one of their High School members through and one of them was a girl. I believe they were 15 of 16. Not Bad!! I know Coach Miracle preaches fundamentals, hand fighting, and position. Must be something to that. Congrats Coach!!!

  3. ive seen that Richey boy wrestle many times...along with other wrestlers and to talk about this boys poor sportsmanship is not right. Many great wrestlers i have seen have had worse sportsmanship than this young man. And if holding up #1 on the podium because he got first is considered poor sportsmanship then i find that very disturbing. Look at the boys who dont fail to shake hands with other coaches...thats a lack of respect and poor sportsmanship, richey doesnt fail to show respect when he is out there.

    Good Luck to that boy!

Not only did he not get first he would've been pinned in the cradle had he not tried to rip out Barlow's eye!!  Kind of funny that alot of people seen that except people from Brown County even though it is on tape.  So keep making excuses for him.  Do you think this would be still talked about by so many people if it was not occuring??????  He simply lost that match and it was probably his fist time losing in 3 or 4 years and couldn't handle it.  To come on here and say he won is rediculous especially since he was the only wrestler on his back!!

  4. pin2win,

I'll agree with you!!  These are the same responses that were made when someone pointed out this behavior last year.  Age is no excuse.  I saw him blatently try to poke barlow's eye out when he was ready to get cradled at regionals and then he get's DQ'd at state.  I was hoping this year he'd be different and I can honestly say I don't know if he is cause I have not seen him wrestle this year but it doesn't sound like it.  I hope he get's guidance from his older brother who seemed to me to be a class act.  Quincy is very talented and I think he can win state this year no doubt about it.

  5. Score 28-15 Cathedral with 3 matches left 130, 135, 140.  B-South needs a win and 2 pins.  Suspense isn't it.  B-South 130 Boyd gets reversal to win 3-2.  28- 18 Cathedral. B-South 135  Barlow pins (to go 30-0 on the season) score 28-24 Cathedral with 1 match remaining.  B-South 140 Farmer pins to give B-South the win 30-28!!!

  6. chargersrbeasts,

you might want to look at the tape again, barlow up 6-4 after the second, barlow chooses down black elects to go neutral barlow awarded a point, 7-4 barlow got the take down to make it 9-4 then barlow worked for and got the fall. 2 of blacks 4 points were from escapes.  refs don't award points after a fall that is why it is called 3 for a NEAR FALL but in this case it was simply a fall.  I just watched the tape my self and that is exactly what happened.  i do think black should be ranked though.

  7. It seems some people are forgetting that even though 69 is perfectly fine now, when the teams had to make the decision they definitely were not. As much as we all hate to see great teams leaving this tournament, I think the schools made the right safety call. If nothing happened nobody would complain, but if something did happen there is a huge liability for the school.

I can tell you this, I already Know of 7 starters parents that would have gladly took their own kids to this.  I have not spoke to the others.  I also know of a couple of them didn't know that Bellmont was still on for tomorrow and were pretty pissed.  When did Perry make it's decision??  B-South made it at 10am.  Maybe it should be left up to the parents and the cut budgets of AD's that don't care about wrestling wouldn't have to worry!!!!

  8. Great statement Y2, however does that mean Perry is putting their student athletes at risk????  You seem to be the all knowing so how is B-South not going when HWY37 is clear and Perry is just up HWY37??
