  1. B, C, A is best answer with the information provided.

Decbell1 you and Mr. Fauklen are off on how the criteria progresses based on multiple wrestlers being up for the same seed.  However, with a more thorough talk with Mr. Faulklen about how the process works, rather than him just reading a quick e-mail example, I'm sure he would see where he went wrong on his decision on the seeding.

  2. If I'm reading the explication correctly as long a you follow your original weight loss progression to make a certified weight then anything after doesn't matter. So a wrestler could weight in at an event last weekend 10 to 15 pounds over his certified weight class and then turn around and wrestle that certified weight class in Sectional. Example: Made 132 by dropping according to weight program progression, then weighed in around 145 last week cause he was lazy/dumb, and then can still drop to 132 for Sectional next week. In that case the official response is still not exactly promoting a safe weight loss plan the program was created to help promote.  However, at least we have a clear answer though.

  3. Careful bringing notice of Indiana wrestlers going to a tournament out of state. Those 112 wrestlers arent supporting the local tournaments going on in Indiana.

Though a good out of state event to attend, your post shouldn't be lost in the fact that we need to stop this from occuring:

    4/20/2013 Mishawaka Freestyle Open CANCELLED!!!

The tournament for this Saturday, April 20, has been cancelled, due to lack of freestyle interest in the area.

Now only 2 events left in IN this weekend.

    4/27/2013 Southport Ultimate Ironman.  CANCELLED!!!

And this is in a style that is currently only open for a month's time.  There is some reason to be at least promoting in state participation, even if some people do occasionally travel across the boarder.

  4. 145

    5.  Ticket Round - Neil Molloy vs. Richard Osha.  Any chance for an upset here?  I know nothing about Osha than he's ranked.

Even though Osha is a solid wrestler in his own right I'm not sure anyone but Kelley is going to touch Molloy this weekend.  I am wondering how Osha ended up in 3rd out of that regional though.  I didn't expect him to drop to that spot and have this tough of a battle to move on.

  5. I'm guess I'm confused on how this still works.

    If....

8th-12th graders are all together in the upper school. 8th-10th graders work within the MYP or middle years program while 11th and 12th graders work on IB.

And he's taking some level of a high school style courses like

in addition to all the language courses he takes there he is studying physics, chemistry, microbiology, geometry, trigonometry, drama, religion, & world history(none of which he had previously taken).

Then why can he be called a Freshman then?  Yeah I get the language barrier issue that was brought but he's not taking what i would call 8th grade course work nor just in an 8th grade or even middle school level environment.  It would seem the paced out course work for 8th graders and 9th graders wouldn't be to much different in this setting.  Just seems like he would be a freshman but then again I'm just a public school graduate and haven't experienced how these type of school conduct their school days.

  6. On a similar note, when is the end day for high school wrestlers participating in any types of clinics, camps, or academy workouts?  I wasn't sure if it was the first day of official practice or the first official meet of the season.

  7. I'd rather see a system where the best team from each regional by a certain date was invited.  We could base this on a power ranking or add in a  coaches vote too if we needed to  We can do this in a class format or not.  That way it's not based on last years data and it's not on individual tourney points.  It also allows us to spread things out around the state so more teams will have a chance to get involved.

  8. If you want to remain in the athletic organization you have to follow there athletic guidelines. They have to option to leave it, but that means not being able to participate in there events.  Most schools in a state don't like that option.  So I guess the authority comes from not wanting to leave that exclusive club.

  9. I'm not completely sold on this but if it's the way of the future we may only have one way to make it work right.  Shift all the conference events earlier and give two weeks or so for the team event.  It will allow teams to be at full strength. It will complete things before the IHSAA event. And teams eliminated  week one or that weekend can still get in a multi-dual the last week or two of the season.

  10. Being that this is such a big event.  And being the athletes deserve the respect. Maybe dressing halfway nice for the occasion is warranted.  However it seems like if some of the fans are so concerned about it then they would also be dressing in a was that showed respect for importance of the event too. Just saying if for some people it seems to be all about the occasion then they should have no issue having similar expectations too.  How about we just agree to dress better than a bumb  and let the focus be on those that are wrestling.

  11. I've heard from several good coaches that key to neutral is less about the takedown itself and more about the position and proper setups.  This is something I strongly agree with but do not have a great background in.  Most information and DVDs I have come across almost completely focus on the takedown itself which is not helping much.  I would like to find some information or a DVD that will explain multiple setup and then how to transition from each several different takedowns.

  12. M-ville strong as we expected and proved it.

NC right behind them with some real talent and also showing they have some some talent coming back again next year too.

FW earned its keep for sure this year.  As a whole they showed they are a worthy group this season dispite what past results tend to show.

Evansville seems to drop the ball from start to finish in many of their weight classes.  Not very impressive for the semi-state that used to be battleing for the top spot just a few years back.

  13. Yeah, Bluebolt but you have to have something do to while waiting on the next set of matches to start.  The wrestlers seem to put on a fashion show every round these days with new and throwback singlets.  And for that matter the coaches which we always have one or two of trying to out do the others.

P.S. Lebanons assistant had a white suite with a bow tie one night and a black suite with a gold bowtie the next.  Now that setting a fashion trend almost as impressive as the gangster suites on coaching staff had on at state a few years back.
