  1. bharmon01,

The following statement you put out is so not true.

It can only fight for what the majority of membership wants and that is all it has ever done

The IHSWCA when schools wanted classed never got put forward.  The comment I always got from Miller was not enough votes have come in, or the % for classed teams state is only 75% thats not enought to move it forward.  The IHSWCA is not about what the mjority want its about what they want

  2. Y2CJ41,

If you ever go to Lowell you will see a big team picture of them winning the state in 2000 given by the IHWCA.  The school also has the trophy put up, not to mention the team championship rings the team got, which the AD and Principal got too

Many school administration around Indiana will recognize the IHSWCA title as a true state title.

  3. Ttipton,

I have until this year been a member of the IHSWCA for 20yrs.  I went to all the clinics, and always felt it is no more than a good old boy system.

I tried to get a friend of mine into the hall of fame, I tried many times and he never got in.  Lets see Mark Line had over 300 wins, had countless state qualifiers and 3 state champions and won the team State by the IHSWCA rules in 2000 but thats not enough to get into the hall of fame.  But another coach can come into the hall of fame after being a member of the IHSWCA for 1 year!

You want coaches in?  I guess you have to be connected to get recognized.

I would be happy to debate it any time with you email me at bcunningham@nn.k12.in.us

  4. I for one do not care about the dual state tournament.  When its not classed small schools have no shot at all.  I know small schools like Delphi have got there which is great but those schools had no chance of beating schools like Perry or other large schools.  You class the team state duals and you would see smaller school programs become larger.

  5. North Newton went 5-0 Sat to win the Lake Station Invite

    NN-45 Hammond Morton 30

    NN-57 East Chicago 21

    NN-49 SB Washington 15

    NN-39 Andrean 33

Final round NN-39 Hammond Morton 21

    Individual Champions for NN

    113- Jake Koselke

    145- Adam Davis

    160- Casey Sonaty

170- Alex Cooper (MVP of tournament)

  6. Personally, I would just as soon see the IHSAA scrap the Dual Tournament in it's current format.  At it's inception the feeling was that the IHSAA was headed toward classing everything and that the Dual Tournament would be classed eventually which would have made it a good tournament in conjunction with a classed individual tournament, but that did not (will not) happen.  The people who are for keeping the Dual Tournament will say that we can keep it and work for "classing" it, but I think that is a pipe dream and a way to maybe prop it up for a few more years.

Coach Peck your statement above is how I have felt about this for years.  I want it to be classed but dont see it ever happening
