Best 0-0 Match in Regulation Ever!

Trent,
You forgot to add yourself.
Trent McCormick (State Champion)
-
I would contact Trent McCormick and/or Troy Dulaney at Yorktown. Very good working all the way down to the Elementary Level.

HHC will be broadcast on....

I will try to broadcast from the beginning of Round 2 through finals.

How do we know Yorktown will face Bellmont, possible for AC to pull off on upset in the JC sectional.

Earlier in this thread the statement and/or question was made. "How is Team State better for wrestling" When I wrestled back in the early 80's, then my sons in the early 90's Satudays were filled with Individual Tournaments, where most Elementary Schools had maybe 10 kids participating in the Individual Tournaments. I moved to North Carolina in the mid 90's returning to Indiana in 2005, got remarried to a woman in 2008 who at that time has a 7 year old son. So I convince my wife to have him try wrestling, which he does and is still wrestling today. Me being back in Indiana am assuming that wrestling is still the same as when I left, but of course I find out about the Elementray Duals, where you have a team of 20 kids competing in a team enviroment on a Sunday. Compared to the maybe 10 kids from an Elementary School on a Saturday. I truly do not believe you see the number of Elementary kids wresting today with out Team State being a part of HS Wrestling the last 15 years. To me that is how it has made it BETTER for wrestling.

It's been twenty years (maybe more) since I computed the team scores at the ECIC and Jay County Sectional, how exactly is the sectional scored these days.
-
Is it possible to list the "key" wins and "key" losses similar to the individual rankings?
-
Best thing about going to Jay County this weekend - Weather Forecast - NO SNOW!

I have noticed on this site and the ISWA site that nine teams are entered in this event and the ISWA publication states the brackets will be posted by Thursday 12/30. However I am unable to see them anywhere. Has the bracketing been completed? Has the format changed to a pool format? Updates anyone?

I just heard this past weekend of the end of team state after this season and have read all the threads over the last few days, trying to come up with a solution. As we all know IHSAA is not going to give anything without getting something in return, therefore maybe something along the following, using next season?s scheduled dates would be a possibility.
Note: Individual tournament would remain the same.
1. First drop a tournament from the season schedule, opening the date of January 21, 2012 for ?Team Sectionals?, in Class 1A, 2A, 3A & 4A. These sectionals like all other sectionals in other team sports would be blind draws and bracketed.
- Class 1A ? Bottom 72 Schools
Eight - 9 team sectionals
- Class 2A ? 80 Schools
Eight ? 10 Team Sectionals
- Class 3A ? 80 Schools
Eight ? 10 Team Sectionals
- Class 4A ? 78
Six ? 10 team sectionals and Two ? 9 team sectionals
2. Wednesday 2/1/2012 ?Team Regionals? - Four Sites
- Site 1 ? Four 1A Teams & Four 2A Teams
- Site 2 ? Four 1A Teams & Four 2A Teams
- Site 3 ? Four 3A Teams & Four 4A Teams
- Site 4 ? Four 3A Teams & Four 4A Teams
Two mats ? two same class matches on each mat, winners move on to ?Team State?
3. Saturday 2/28/2012 ?Team State? ? One Site ? Four Teams each Class
Then if you really want to have some fun, bracket the four champs to determine the best ?TEAM? champion in the State of Indiana.

If it is decided upon has having two divisions " All Star" and "Community", would a "Club" be allowed to participate in both? For instance if there are 18 weight classes and only three out of school system kids are allowed to participate in the All Star division, it would be possible for a club to field three other wrestlers in those weight classes for the Community division.

A great idea!!! A suggestion on the 6th grader issue.
Hold Elementary State in conjuction with Middle School State at Yorktown. Using four mats at the high school, two for each competition or hold one at the high school the other at the middle school. This in itself will save time checking and cross checking who has or hasn't wrestled in the middle schools dual or elementary dual etc...

Kerby was after Kligensmith early 90's, before Jeff Hess

One of the arguments that I hear for class wrestling is that the good coaches leave small schools and go to bigger schools for more success. I am not saying that this does not happen, but I am just wondering situations were it has occurred. Again im just trying to get some discussion going, I am not saying it does not happen, I can think of Randy Kerby as an example going from Bluffton to Columbia City. What I do feel is that it doesn't happen very often.
I think coaching changes occur more often than not do to teaching oppurtunities than for coaching success. I may be mistaken but I just dont think that these moves happen that often.
I also found this interesting. This is a link to the football coaching changes from 07-08. I do not notice alot of the coaches going from small schools to big schools on this list.
http://ifca.zebras.net/ifca/candler/foot2008/coaching_changes.htm
One final thing that I think we could discuss under this topic is the idea of elite coaches, and where they came from. Did they start at a small school? Did they start at the bigger school? what kind of success would they or did they at a small school? Just trying to cause soome disscussion, so dont jump my case if im wrong on this, i just cant think off of the top of many head coaches going to big schools after having success at small schools.
Kerby went from Bluffton to Jay County then Columbia City

Northside of Indy, or up to Kokomo....Yorktown would be the smart move.
Great School
Great Area...less than an hour to the north side of Indy, a little over an hour to te soutside of Fort Wayne
Great Wrestling program, starting at the elementary level
Great coaches
Great parental involvement
Note: I am not a coach or teacher in the school system, just a parent of an elementary aged wrestler.
I have lived in the Jay County , Bloomington and Yorktown.
Yorktown is the place to be.
