  1. I have a little collection of shoes.. trying to build it up a little more.. have to agree on the Combat Speeds.. Have a pair of those and i really enjoy them.. Also I would have to agree on the Kolat 2000's.. Had a pair in high school (still have them but they are torn to pieces) and would pay anything for another pair.. Can't find them anywhere in my size..

  2. Just literally walked in the house from the 16 hour drive back from virginia beach.. Juniors wrestled really really well.. Indiana had a nice showing in the junior division.. Did not get to watch much of the other age groups.. You can watch Cashe wrestle live on ESPN 360 for the national championship.. Im exhausted going to bed..

  3. How big are you talking? There were about 50 or more kids in the room.. I dont know all the kids names, but there was someone for everyone to wrestle.. Coach Talley was mixing it up with guys 170 up to 220/HWT. I was mixing it up with kids from 185-160.. There were kids at all weights.. You would not have any problem finding someone in the room to wrestle at all.. Kids of all levels as well.. This is a really good opportunity to wrestle/watch some of the top talent in our state.. Again, you will have no problem finding a group of 7-10 kids around your weight to wrestle.. It is an all around great place to get some good wrestling in..

  4. Tonight's open room was awesome.. Many top level Indiana kids were in attendance.. Coaches were also in there mixing it up.. Great atmosphere and I recommend attending this open room to any wrestler that is looking for top level competition to attend.. I think Wiemer and I counted 7 Kids that have been in the State Championship match either this year or last year that were in attendance..

Wiemer, I forgot my headgear.. Red and Black Cliff Keen classic.. If you guys happen to come across it, hold it for me because we will definitely be back next week.. Thanks..

  5. jcarter just give up trying to explain the rule to these guys.. They just dont want to grasp that IF THE TOP GUY HAS LEGS IN AND IS IN THE PROCESS OF WORKING A TURN, THE BOTTOM MAN CAN NOT STAND UP AND EXPECT THE TOP MAN TO GET HIT FOR STALLING...They just dont understand that.. Watch any college match and I guarantee you the referee would call the bottom man for stalling since he is forcing a potentially dangerous situation.. People just cant seem to grasp it.. Im done explaining it to you guys.. The match is over.. It was a phenomenal match.. Enjoyed every second of it.. Eppert won.. End of story..

  6. Yes I am serious.. Gave you an example.. If someone dislocates their knee when you shoot the referee will not call the offensive wrestler for stalling.. You cannot stand up when the top wrestler has legs in.. Talk about it as long as you want.. Again you cannot stand up when the top wrestler has legs in and expect the top wrestler to get hit for stalling.. End of story...

  7. Awood or any other person who feels it is the top mans fault when potentially dangerous is called when legs are already in before the bottom wrestler stands up, this is a serious question and I am wanting to know what you think about this situation which i think is the same as the Legs in stand up situation that continually occurred in the Eppert vs. Wright Match.

What if the top wrestler is running a serious half nelson but is unable to advance his position to near fall because the bottom wrestler has a trick shoulder that has the ability to rotate in a way that would be called double jointed so the referee is forced to continually call potentially dangerous.. Do you penalize the top wrestler for continually going after the half nelson that he will never advance because before the bottom wrestler will go over for near fall, his shoulder will cause a potentially dangerous call? I see the Eppert vs. Wright "legs in stand up" situation as pretty much the same situation that I just explained.. If the top wrestler has in legs and is attempting to turn and the bottom wrestler stands up forcing a potentially dangerous call, you cannot penalize the top wrestler..  Standing up when the top wrestler has in legs is not the way to defend legs.. End of story..

  8. Im debating on making a go at it this freestyle season as well.. 163 would be a tough cut tho.. I tried to make the cut 2 summers ago but ran out of time and got to 169 with a couple days left before freestyle state and threw in the towel.. If i get started right now, I really think i could make a run for it.. What is the weight about 163? Problem is, most of the time, 163 is the weight class with the most senior/university guys, so wrestling the weight class above would be useless because I would probably only get like one match if that.. 163 would be lower than the weight i wrestled my senior year of high school (171)!!!  :o

  9. Final result of the series was 7-5 Wright with Camden winning 2 State Championships and 1 Regional and 2 Dual meet matches.. Wright winning 1 State Championship, 3 Semi-States, 2 Regionals, and 1 Dual meet match..

Great rivalry.. I enjoyed being a part of it and being there for every one of the 12 matches.. Great way to end the rivalry and the career for Eppert.. He trained everyday from the State Finals loss in 08 till Saturday for that rematch.. Story book ending..

  10. During the tournament, we normally let our kids wear whatever singlet they feel comfortable in.. Sam wore Plaid from Semi-State to the state findals.. Camden wore our white singlet from sectional till the championship match where he switched to our red singlet which i do not think he has ever lost in.. Mason normally just switches it up every week.. I liked Runyan's old school style singlet as well..

  11. I like the excitement/lose and you go home/pressure that our semi-states have.. Getting a bad draw sucks, but sometimes you get the short end of the stick in life and have to find a way to get it done when the odds are against you.. I like things the way they are when it comes to wrestle backs.. Win or Go Home... Makes semi-state soooooo dramatic..

  12. tspray were you directing your last comment towards me?  ;D

Y2 i was just wondering what you called a program that does not get any kids out of sectionals/regionals.. You directed a statement saying that our program was broke. Just want to know your opinion of programs that get no one to state.. Can you give me that? LOL the fun thing is we can laugh and joke about this at state on friday and saturday Y2.. I'm kind of upset that McCray did not make it thru.. I was pulling for him to make it to conseco this year after coaching him at fargo this summer..

  13. Just giving you the point of view of a 5A school that struggles to get kids out as well.... Are you saying your program is broke because you are complaining to have class wrestling.. instead of complaining, I look to find ways to approach things in a different way.. I have never once stated that I want to change something in order to give my program a better chance to win than what the current system that is in place.. Having a state champion, 2 runners up last year, 3 advancing to state this year, if our program is broke as you say, then what do you call teams that dont get anyone out of sectional/regional?

  14. Would not say our program is broke being that we have kids placing frequently and have been in the team rankings regularly and for the most part place well at team tournaments and have a above average dual record and place top three in our sectional past 6 years or so.. Just showing you guys that somewhat successful 5A programs have problems getting kids out for wrestling too.. The kids that we get, we develop them into pretty good wrestlers.. Problem is we dont get alot of kids out for one reason or another (basketball, ineligibility, laziness of kids these days, Middle school program is struggling because MS coach does a horrible job). So we are now going the youth program route.. That is where you build a consistent program year in and year out regardless of SIZE of school..  ;D
