Speedway High School on the westside of Indy has a HS head coach opening and asst. opening. For information contact AD Brian Avery at Speedway HS.
-
Let's take a step back to 1999. Does anybody remember what happened to Andrew Wolf of East Central in the round to go at the seymour semi state. #1 in the state. I'm a head coach now and I would never let what happened to him, come from any of my wrestlers.
-
I think it would be really tough to do take the days off for a Thursday/Friday. I agree with a full day Saturday, or even a Friday evening or Saturday.
-
In 99 Rosbottom met Minton in the Sectional, Regional, Semi State, and State Final. I think Minton beat him at regional and Rosbottom won the rest.
-
From what I understand if a flagrant is called it is for that meet and the following meet. Similar thing happened to my brother Justin Cooper in 2006. He was an undefeated senior and ranked 2nd in the state at 189. In the finals of conference he was called for a flagrant head butt with about 10 seconds left in the match and the next meet for him was Sectionals. Season over.

I agree that Perry will probably send the most to state, but I don't think it will be 13 guys. It isn't impossible to send 11-12 but, the New Castle Semi State is pretty tough, there are always some bad opening and ticket round match ups.

Going from memory I think Wes graduated in the 99 and Price, Baker, and Greg Bradley graduated in 00. They had a pretty good team in 00-01, but there team in the 97-98 was one of their best, probably Greg Bradley's Sophmore year, when Stephen was still there, Wes Gibson, Nathan Challis, Zach Short, Ryan Williams, and some others that I can't think of off the top of my head.

Speedway 1A- Yes

Mitchell Judkins of Speedwas is wrestling 165/174 at Lindsay Wilson College in KY.
-
Well Trey Reese and Logan Cooper wrestled in the finals this year and I am pretty sure they didn't have to lose a pound this year to do it.
-
Good luck to all the former Indiana High School wrestlers competing in and qualifying for the NAIA Championships starting tomorrow morning.
Anthony Hawkins
Tony Lovejoy
Matt Milton
Caleb Browner
Justin Cooper
Sorry if I missed anyone these are just the names I recognized. Complete list is linked below, I believe the brackets will be up and available tonight.

Congratulations Mitchell on a successful weekend and a successful high school career. Being the first place winner for Speedway since 1969 is a major accomplishment and bouncing back from the last second loss to Quiroz and winning your last match against a very good wrestler is a testimate of how far we have came. It has been a pleasure coaching you for the last 7 years and I look forward to seeing you compete this summer and on to the next level.

160 lost a lot of guys at semi state this year.
#7 Max Youngs
#8 Austin Niebarger
#10 Sean Mappes
#11 Derek Harz
#12 Mike Taylor
#14 Clayton Fiddler
#15 Garrett Weber
#16 Spencer Hessman
#20 Carl McCleod
Not sure how this compares to other weight classes, but I think all but one lost to another ranked wrestler last Saturday.
-
I don't see any at 160 Welch, Quiroz, Lefever, and Anderson are all pretty solid. The best chance I see is Holt being able to take Quiroz in the first round. Quiroz got dominated Friday night last year and I don't think he is going to let that happen again.
-
I checked Duncan was an alternate and he lost to 3rd place finisher and at the time undefeated Tony Lovejoy 17-11 on Friday Night.
-
I believe it is whoever lost to the champ in the ticket round. I think Seve Duncan of Beech Grove was an alternate last year at State and almost pulled out an upset.
-
Can anyone give any information on what all happened at 160 on the day. I saw that Youngs lost to Mitchell, Neibarger lost to Anderson, Youngs lost to Neibarber, and Anderson beat Mitchell pretty handily. Does anyone have any scores or match details?
-
It's unfortunate that Hessman beats Mappes in the Regional Finals and is rewarded with a first round match with Sims of MD.

Most of the schools in this regional have been out of school for the past three days. I am assuming most of them will be back tomorrow, however there may be a few schools that won't hold classes tomorrow. I believe that the individual regional can still take place on Saturday even if a school is not in session friday. However, if even one school is out on Friday and hasn't been in session since Monday does that give all the schools at the Perry Regional a weight allowance and what would that be?
-
I believe in 1999 Rosbottom and Minton met in the finals of Sectionals, Regionals, Semi State, and State.
Minton beat him in the regional finals and Rosbottom beat him every other time. Minton's regional win was the one that put Rosbottom and Jankowski of Mater Dei wrestling in the round to go.

Tasseff won by fall, but it was in OT. In my opinion Allen controlled the match most of the way. Allen was up 3-1 in the 3rd and gave up two penalty points, one was "pulling the singlet" call and the other was a stalling call with about 35 seconds left. I thought it was a really good match and am looking foward to a rematch at Regionals. Allen ran out of gas at the end and Tasseff was better conditioned. Also, Allen beat Mueller of BG a couple weeks ago at conference.

Whitten, Moss, Davenport, English, Taylor are favorites to win their first round match.
I would consider matches at 130, 152, and 160 all toss up matches where BD could win.
-
BD's guys are wrestling very well right now. I don't think anyone is saying that they or Franklin are on the same level as Perry is right now, but their guys are peaking at the right time the same way Perry's kids are. If you think BD is only getting 3 out, I just can't see that. I think they get 6-8 guys of the regional and on to New Castle.

Sorry jchas but just bc a tournament occurs it doesn't mean it's on trackwrestling. This one is not. Agree with the previous post, for a top tourney to start the the season you would think there would be some team and individual results. I wasn't aware this was the top secret connersville holiday tournament.
