Nice to hear that he (or she) noticed the boys acting like gentlemen,,, sorta makes me all warm and tingly inside. Roach - Nice win!I was amused to read this on Illinoismatmen. I can't believe that shaking hands was not mentioned....

I have been going to the Stagg tourney for almost 20 years and its getting embarrasing to have that Indiana team whoop our tails. 4 years in a row they have won that tourney. To my south side brothers take a close look at what they are doing. They are in the best shape, they are the toughest, and they are technically the best team there by far. Their coach has them boys toeing the line also. They dress alike, no body doing their own uniform thing, they all wrestle alike, and they all hang out together in the stands, and behave like gentleman. Come to think of it, isn't that what a "team" is all about. Someone told me that their coach is from Libertyville and is a classmate and close friend with Dale Eggert. No coincidence in my mind that Libertyville and Crown Point have won the last 10 Stagg tournaments. Some school with aspirations of being good needs to lure Crown points coach back to the land of Lincoln."

Is this cooking with Clive?

A job well done Jake!!!!

Great job to all the boys that wrestled at the Brute Scholastic this year. Indiana Gold and Blue did a nice job for the state of Indiana. We saw some great matches and I for one got to enjoy a bunch of cool parents that were able to attend. (I had some good laughs)
The NWCA did a nice job,, besides it's cool to see Coach "John" Cook still enjoying this fantastic sport we all love so much not as a coach but as a director... Good job boys!!!!

Anthony you are the one kid from the region that impressed me the most. No doubt you had one hell of a wkend down in Indy. I was proud of you every match you had. I'll be watchin out for you next year -good luck!

Oh Champion champion champion, I'm going to remind myself that your clearly a young kid with your post you wrote. I think it's safe to say you can't get a full general oppinion on how solid a wrestler is with watching one or maybe two matches that they wrestle. Especialy in the final rounds in which they tend to wrestle a little conservative. You think he shoulda woulda coulda lost in the semis?? He won and moved on to finals.Your comment is pretty much a dig to him and any other kid he's wrestled over the year. If your not impressed with him that's fine. I sure am as well as the other hand full of college coaches that recruted him hard. As far as scholarship money goes- Marcus did very well for himself not only because he's a great wrestler but, because he's a great student also.(How much sclolarship money did you get?) He also recieved a few-K for not getting on this board and talking crazy smack. He ended up 2nd last yr. 1st this year and went undefeated.... Do the math champion. Congrads Marcus we love you

Get over it already!
Are you yelling at me?

What a tiring topic. Shake hands, don't shake hands. Respectful, disrespectful. Most kids I see shake hands with the coaches after a match but so what if they don't? My kid and his team shake hands. SO what? If someone told me you have a choice, have your kids shake hands after every match and they'll be the finest gentlemen in the world or, don't shake hands and, magically, the team will be as good as CP, I'll take not shaking hands. PLEASE STOP THESE THREADS!
Just what he said.

Yeah,, how crazy is that! Pretty impressive if you ask me- gives ya alot o think about boy's!

the ref on mat 3 sucks halbert was stalling since the end of the first and only one stalling call.. bakalik took 9 shots to his one.. Halbert backed up the whole time.. Good job jimmy the ref really screwed u man..
I Agree - You hate to see a kid lose a match like that. Good things will happen to Jimmy as he is one hell of a kid and has a promising future.

Fransisco Colon with crazy throw.

Why no wrestle backs you ask? Because Indiana is country and we take a little longer than the common folk. I wish we had them but, I'm over it. It is what it is.

I'll be at the big show. Mish- missing Mr. Paul Beck sure sucks. Paul you get after it next year!

Heck, it be nice if the state of Indiana (IHSAA) allowed middle school kids to wrestle up to high school. Not like it would be a ton of kids, but I feel like it could be a a win win.
