What about that avoiding wrestling rule thats new this year? i mean, i may be wrong but i believe that is supposed to be an automatic point without a caution. in my personal opinion, if a guy is literally running backwards from the opponent, that would be avoiding wrestling, but appearantly im wrong and it is just stalling, even though stalling is what had been happening that entire match from milenbaugh.Quote from: wrasler on Today at 11:48:50 AM
You Are WRONG, avoiding wrestling (TV)is not new this year we have had this rule for many years. Unless wrestler A or wrestler B is leaving the wrestling area or A or B is forcing his opponent out of the wrestling area we do NOT have avoiding wrestling. Stalling would be the correct call
Did you watch the match? He was definitely backing up straight to the line every time armand locked up with him. When they first locked up they were around the center then Milenbaugh went straight out of bounds and then got tossed. From the looks of it Armand is just too strong for Milenbaugh maybe thats why he was backin up.
-
for the 140 weight class which sectional is better JC or NV????? I dont think theres any question to that...top 3 at JC will be top 3 at Regional
-
how is a standing reversal questionable. If anything the first time Arhmand won was off a Questionable throw.
Youre probably right they should give the standing reversal after they have already separated and going out of bounds. Thats probably the right call. Milenbaugh got lucky Armand was out when he tossed his cookies at sectional when Milenbaugh was backing away. I thought it could be avoiding wrestling if it went on a second or two longer. Im not sayin Milenbaugh isnt as good of a wrestler or anything like that cuz hes proved that he is very good, Im just sayin it should be another great match and in my opinion Armand will win the next one.

I have to go with Richey, I know he is a freshman but after watchin him wrestle i think he will take it. Also, 140 at the JC sectional pretty much al lthe way...have to go with Armand, he controlled Milenbaugh at sectionals and lost by a point on a questionable reversal. It will be a good match. Also a surprise to me was Collett of JC, a young kid with a lot of talent.
Also, you have to go with Beiswanger from JC at 160 he is lookin very good. I know anything could happen but i think if he doesnt win it will be an upset

I think its good to have 4 going. I remember a few years ago 4 guys ranked top ten or very close were all in the same regional. DOnt remember all their names but lappe from MD Schmidt from castle and two others all were in teh same regional. All were VERY good wrestlers and one didnt make it out of regionals and without a doubt I believe would have upset a 1 seed in semi state if it were the same format

bwillis10,
How do you thing the seeding will work out for 112 at JC? I think that will be important to the winner of this sectional. I have not had the chance to follow all these wrestlers but I know that a has beat b and b has beat c and maybe not all of them have wrestled each other.
That might be a good topic..... Funny momets or comments at seeding meetings..... I bet there would be some good stories there.
Taylor has beaten both Resch and Rieker but not wrestled Colon.
Colon has beaten Resch and lost to Rieker but not wrestled Taylor.
Resch has lost to Taylor and Colon but beaten Rieker.
Rieker has lost to Taylor and Resch and beaten Colon.
Between Taylor and Colon I'm not sure of all of the common opponents. Both have beaten Resch and Both have beaten Smith (Jeff) but Smith has also beaten Taylor 2 times.
In my opinion it will come down to overall record. In that case I think Colon wil get the #1 seed then Taylor will be #2, Resch #3 and Rieker #4. Of course it is possible it could change again because Resch and Rieker will go at each other again next weekend.
I agree the match there will decide the seed Reiker or Resch will get. So I will just about bet its Taylor, Colon, Reiker/Resch whoever wins next weekend

Taylor will be 1. After that I think whichever coach argues the longest for their wrestler will get the better seed. It comes down to head to head before overall record then they say common opponents but in this instance it could go anyway. I find it hard to believe Colon wont get the 2 seed tho.

To grenadier
These are predicitons. And if you really think Resch cant touch colon I BELIEVE you are wrong. Its just my OPINION Resch hasnt figured his style out and is capable of being a VERY good wrestler. Im not by any means sayin he can beat colon (although i think its possible).
to Greek Wrestler
you said Resch stalled his butt of to keep it close...i didnt see the match but did he get a stalling call? if not he must have been doin somethin. And Resch has definitely not yet wrestled the best match he can possibly wrestle. I have a high opinion of him seein as how i have worked with him a little bit so yes you can say i am biased but I am positive of my statements.

Richey will not even place at State.
which richey r u talkin about?
-
I agree with noguts reitman looks tough i guess conference will be a test for him.
-
Pretty accurate maverick...disagree on a few things but nogutsnoglory u wouldnt kno considering he was varsity til today. Watch ur mouth.
-
I find it hard to believe FC will beat Jeff...they are tough. I believe JC should be in the top 3 somewhere in the end
-
I think the way the rankings are bein done keeps them very accurate as long as ppl send in all the results. I know not everyone will obviously. Also, I think a couple JC guys will surprise some ppl this year
-
i agree southern indiana is not gettin a lot of respect. been out for a couple years so i dunno how strong southern indiana is compared to previous years but i definitely noticed not a lot from there are ranked other than some obvious ones
How were you on your Picks???
