  1. Hamilton Heights:

Last year Corey Kiger was the head coach. It was his first year after Rick Willoughby. Recently he was named the Middle School assistant principal. He resigned his position as head coach and they are currently still looking for a head coach. There has already been some quality applicants so get that resume in as soon as possible. In the past it has been THE most successful program the school has had. Great kids to work with. That itself is a big plus.

  2. Hamilton Height is looking for a head coach. Located just north of Noblesville on SR 19. Contact Kurt Ogden, Athletic Director, at the high school. (317)984-3551. Teaching positions are available at High School, English, Elementary positions as well.

  3. Anybody else hear this? Football Board has a thread about this. I think it would be an awesome move for Hamilton Heights. Great competition moving to the HHC with Yorktown, New Pal, and Pendleton Heights, and a few others in comparison to the Mid-Indiana Conference. Definitely help prepare Heights for Sectionals. Any insights as to when this would begin?(2012-2013?)

  4. Just a bit of information for anyone who knows/remembers Jon's dad - Dan McClain - I'm sure many of you know he has suffered from a Parkinson's like condition for the last 7-8 years....and over the last 6 months his health has declined rapidly to the point that he is unable to move or communicate. He is still at home and Jon's wonderful mother (Janet) has continued to care for him despite the daily challenges. He has recently been placed in "palliative (end of life)/hospice care" which means he has in home care a few days each week. Janet is doing well...just tired from the 24hr. care he requires. If anyone would be interested in sending a note or card, (he still understands when we talk to him), I'm sure it would mean the world to him. Janet is alright with me sharing their address if you would like to contact them...I will try and keep you all posted on his progression. OK...their address is 5130 Dunewood Way, Avon, IN 46123

  5. The IHSAA will never class wrestling. Wrestling will die out in the next 20 years (my prediction) and I'm pretty sure the IHSAA shares that. Many small schools are already considering dropping wrestling due to financial reasons. They are not even considering the pay to play option because low income families can't afford it. The IHSAA will benefit from public school elimination or consolidation. There will be hardly any sport changes in the next few years until things get settled down financially and that may be a long time. I hope wrestling doesn't disintegrate. For those of you who know me, it has had a very big part in my life as well as hope for my son. But money is an issue and no association, both teacher's or coach's, can influence that (unfortunately).

  8. Not a bad showing! Only loss is to an outstanding Indiana Team called Yorktown which happens to be on 20 minutes away! Great Job men! Keep up the good work and tell Mickey Mouse hello! - Coach Weber

  9. Rick Overfield - Western Boone (Had some tremendous teams in the 80's)

Jamie Welleiver - Southmont (Still having great teams)

JoeDad - (North Montgomery) Well He just rocks and has had some great teams

All of these guys are not just great coaches but good all around guys!

  10. A lot of people, myself included, underestimated the Crawfordsville-area teams last year. They were much stronger than they had been in recent years. A lot of kids graduated, but I bet that sectional is still well-represented in the regional placements. Maybe not as many as Zionsville has, but not a complete blowout either.

I must say that Southmont has set a precedence the last 5-10 years in there wrestling area while North Montgomery and Crawfordsville have followed. It is a great are of wrestling and a well coached area as well with Wiellever (sp), Ervin, and JD Minch. All are super guys!

  11. What will Heights do next season?

With all the seniors on the team this year you would think that they may have trouble next year placing in the top 3. But...........year in and year out Heights put tough wrestlers on the mat. I would expect them to just reload.
