I believe that Merrillville has 3 in the semis and 4 in the cons left.
-
I think he has a shoulder injury dating back from last season. He has wrestled only a couple of times this year.

As fans we often say that the official missed a certain call. this time the official definetly missed the call and checked with the side official to get his opinion. ultimately the correct call was made. We need more officials to admit that they made a mistake and correct it. The only part where he got lucky was to draw an official that was not afraid to admit that he made a mistake.

Nice recap. if we started a topic on the reasons this board is better than the "one that shall not be named" it would be 100 pages long.

I may be a little biased but I think David Maldonado has to be near the top. I don't know the exact numbers but in the last five years since he has been at Merrillville they have had like 25-28 state qualifiers 24 or so state placers and 4 state champions including 2 national champions. Maybe someone can give some exact numbers.

The kid he beat is Julian Brooks from Romeoville. According to illinoismatmen.com he is ranked 12th at 140 in AAA. Maybe someone from cp can give us some details on the match. Here is the link to the rankings

I would rank state and national folkstyle above freestyle. although I know as many, if not more college coaches probably attend fargo. this could get a little complicated especially if start to rank national tournaments. not an easy job.

My top factor would be high school and folkstyle national tournaments. Next would be national freestyle tournaments. Here is my quick list without doing to much research. This is a nice topic with some interesting conversation.
1. Harper
2. Quiroga
3. Sandefur
4. McMurray
5. Raley
6. Wright
7. Eppert
8. March
9. Roach
10. Porras

Anyone have any results from the Harvest Classic?
-
This is a nice addition to the site. My personal opinion is that I would not rank a wrestler that has not won an individual high school state title very high, especially this early in the season. The top five could probably be in ranked in a few different orders.

This is a pretty good start. In the next couple of weeks we will see where most people will end up.

Nice win for jones of merrillville over almeraz. jones controlled the whole match other that a headlock with no back points by almeraz.
