Cashe wrestled 2-time All-American Brandon Precin this past weekend and lost 8-3 with r.t.Precin has been neck and neck with Angel. Also, got a takedown on him. So, I don't think bonus points are a given.

It was a great year for Cashe. His high school season combined with Junior State,Junior Nationals and and NHSCA Senior Nationals win loss record was somewhere around 67-2. You would be hard pressed to find someone that wrestled a more difficult 70 matches than this kid. In the high school season alone he beat 5 wrestlers with a combined 8 state titles (Wright, Eppert 2, Harper 3, Porras, Tsirtsis). During the season, he beat the 2 state finalists at 119, 125, and 130. I don't think anyone has gone after people the way he did. He was a Senior National Finalist and Junior National Champion. That is an amazing year. Anyway, we are certainly proud of his accomplishments and the type of kid he is. I know he'll have a great career as a Boilermaker.

For any wrestlers planning on going to Virginia Beach for the NHSCA High School Nationals:
Starting next week (March2nd), we will be holding organized practices at Lawrence North HS on Mondays and Wednesdays from 5:30-7:00PM along with the Open Room on Thursdays. This will also be good for any senior wrestling in the IN/IL all-star meet. The training is geared towards these two competitions. We will have someone in the room close to just about any weight. Practices will be structured with drilling and live wrestling. Feel free to contact me with any questions:

The LN open room will begin next Thursday (March 5th) at 5:30PM. We will go every Thursday up until at least the end of the school year. Last year we had a wide range of wrestling abilities in the room and 50-60 kids almost every week. Multiple state placewinners, state qualifiers, and state champions attended last year. This is a great training opportunity for any wrestler. We don't show technique. We just come in, get warmed up and wrestle.

I didn't take the time to read much of this thread...and I really could care less about this topic but here are my 2 cents.
I went to Avon and their best wrestling teams were when the were a 2a high school. When I was there in the 90's we were 4A and weren't any better than the previous teams and we had the same coaches and facilities. I don't want to take anything away from the more current wrestlers there but even since the school went 5a and got brand new facilities they are not as good as in the 80's....granted they got 2nd in the state tournament teamwise (a fantastic achievement with an admittly favorable draw) but this wasn't by the same scoring as in earlier days. Congratulations to those wrestlers again!
Other high schools such as Ben Davis and Decatur Central and Delta were powerhouses and haven't gotten any smaller so shouldn't they be better than all the other small schools?
One other thing that came to mind was in the early 90's there was a state finalist that was the only person on his wrestling team...whether he went to the biggest or smallest school in the state it didn't matter.
What 1980's Avon team was better than the 2004-05 Avon team, dual meet or individual state scoring system?

Rankingsguy,
LN 103lber. is Alex Sparks. He beat Newkirk of Lawrence Central at the Marion County tournament and just placed 4th at the Al Smith. Newkirk got 7th or 8th and Schoettle of Center Grove also placed below him. Sparks is a freshman and his losses are to Venezia, Bova, Moss, Brooks, and Garretson.
Thanks for all of your hard work.
