Had this been Semi State I would deffinitely place my money on the dude being from Mater Dei. As they and Mater Dei Ft. Branch Campus were the only teams allowed on the floor whenever they wanted.

There are many examples of poor sportsmanship in wrestling and all sports. However, I would never count the celebration after winning an Individual State championship as being a poor sport. Unless of course you chest bump the coach/dad of the kid you just beat.
In all seriousness, in the State Championship match, I say go for it and show your individual style and celebrate however you wish. It's hard to feel sorry for the guy who lost the match - finishing 2nd under the lights isn't too bad..........

I appreciate what you guys do for the sport! This type of service really helps those of us who travel and can't monitor the board. I'm here in Indy this weekend and can see the results live..............................However, the twitter results will help when I take my breaks at some of the local establishments!

I'm a southern Indiana homer but my top 4 would be Konrath/Egli, Ferguson/Smith, Lee and Kelley vs anyone.
-
Very impressed with Franklin. They are typically very solid but they've had a great year!

Just the scores wow pin and TF the filed, the Micic of old!! Def sending a message to the doubters out there, Next week should be exciting! I hope him & Lee meet in the finals its what the fans want to see! I have never seen Lee wrestle but If Micic wrestles like today I dont see anyone beating him or even keeping it close. Ill say Micic gets his 3rd title and Maj the field, no disrespect to Lee but Micic has been nationally ranked top 3 the past 2 seasons for a reason.
Go get em Stevan!
I think most wrestling fans hope the match-up happens under the lights. However, if Micic has the skills to Major Lee then I look forward to watching him in the Olympics in 2016 or 2020.

The 2 most dominate performances of the day were both from Mater Dei. #1 -The Turpin Girl who sang the National Anthem before the finals..................wow............she is incredibile and I love her technique to sing it "straight up". #2 was Nick Lee

Can't beat Turoni's!! Is the bar right across the street from the Ford Center still open? Can't remember the name, but it was a good atmosphere and pretty good food. About 50-100 yards from the main entrance...
And one big BOOOOO on no public Wi-Fi! The only times I have been in that building (4 or 5), the regular cell service sucked for multiple companies.
Main Gate and Backstage are across the street. There are several other bars along main street that are a short walk from the Ford Center.

I agree that Nick had a lot of impact on wrestlers not wanting to be @ 126 but do not kid yourself. A lot wrestlers are not wrestling @ 132 due to Todrank and Davis and then you throw Jourdan into the mix and man what a challenge it is for other wrestlers to have to wrestle any of these wrestlers. Not taking anything away from Nick Lee...I have watched him for a long time and he is a force to be wrecken with but these boys at 132 are going to make it interesting for the boys from up north. Good luck to all the wrestlers this weekend and I am looking forward to some great matches.
I was just talking about the Evansville Semi-State. The 3 boys you mention better worry about the boys down south first. However, I'm pulling for all 3 to make it through. 120 is crazy as well with Brown getting a very tough draw into Lahue. You never know how the draw would go, but (IMO) Brown would have a cake walk to state at 126 since he wouldn't have Lee on his side of the bracket.
-
Lee's presence @ 126 had the biggest impact on stacked weights @ 120 and 132.
navy80,
I like your picks and upsets for the most part but I'm going with Rickenbaugh at 170.

Adjustment made.
The only thing that surprised me was it took you so long to post this comment!

If you think Reffing is that easy, apply to be one. see how much crap you get from coaches and fans.
This is one of the most overused statements on the board. Scoring and interpretation of the rules are not black and white. I don't want to be a referee and I respect the people who are..................however, this is a Wrestling Discusson Board and since there is such a wide range of skill in the referree ranks and wrestling is very difficult to call - there will always be comments and discussions on big calls, no calls and bad calls.
If we take away the comments on controversial calls and "what do you think?", etc. we might as well just post results and congratulate everyone on their wins and console them in their losses.

Johnson MD is improving each week IMO. He seems to be peaking at the right time. Lee MD is so dominate and does it without completely destroying the local opponents confidence......he is that good. I think he will take a different approach for the out of town visitors next week at the Ford Center!
-
I agree that Konrath took the loss pretty well. I expect the same match up at semi-state and hopefully state. I'm a big fan of both Egli and Konrath.
-
They called a similar takedown in the 138 match so I guess I just don't understand the rule?
-
I say absolutely not. At the most, maybe an escape call?

Hello Night Owls! I see 8 members and 16 guests online currently.
We had problems at work and I came in to assist. Any chance of delaying the start of the Castle Sectional so I can catch a quick nap later? :'(

Are we ever going to wear our screen names on our backs and have a get-together? It's been talked about forever
"red cups and sweaty bodies everywhere"

i didn't see it but i would have to agree if it was an 18 second pin it had to be a fluke.
mcdaniel vs. forzley should be a whale-of-a match.
by golly i'd like to see hook and half get on the mat with jon h.
Hook and Half used to like to ride legs if I remember right? I'm too big around and have some muscle left.......I would likely choke him out in the first period! Hook and Half wins on a DQ
-
McDaniel is legit and is my sentimental favorite - no doubt. However, being a North Posey grad, I have to pull for Martin as well. I just think Kemper is the top of this class with Forzley close behind. I liked Forzley's attitude when he walked off the mat on Saturday (shoulder bump). He seemed to have something left in the tank and would've liked to keep wrestling!
-
c. Semi‐State quarterfinalist in IHSAA Tournament Series.
Forzley meet this criteria last year while McDaniel lost to the Principal of Boonville High School.
Forzley had not beat the two guys McDaniel lost to.
Who has McDaniel lost to this year?

Yes I have Three of them wrestling above their seed, and one of those is Tristen McDaniels and I am pretty sure if he had the "MD" on his singlet he would have got the seed that i believe he deserved. Not meaning to take anything from Forzley I just think Tristen is better. Also Heavy Weights anything can happen and most the time it seems a 5 or 6 come out in that class.
Just My Humble Opinion ;D
There's really no difference between the 2nd and 3rd seed in the Sectional? You end up wrestling each other regardless in the semis unless you're upset by a 5 or 6 seed.

Brock is a stud. The article talks about Nathan Boston as well.
