  1. Brett Durphey, Shelbyville. 160 lb, Qualifier last year. 23-0 midway through the season injured his ankle and never really recovered. Ended up 29-3, lost in the round to go. In his 4 yrs he only had one full season without a major injury keeping him off the mat. That year he made it to state. Also 3 yr starting varsity LB, all state senior year. 3 yr varsity high and low hurdler. Academic all state honorable mention this year for wrestling, NHS and just all around good kid.

  2. 4 school districts closed today. Shelbyville, Greenfield, New Pal & Triton. more with a 2 hr delay and nothing so far on the other 2. Now, because these schools were out Thursday also, does that mean a 2 lb extra allowance, or just 1 lb. Cox was clear as mud.

    (ex: 105, 106 or 107)

  3. Y2, on your breakdown you have listed the Warren Central Sectional and the Shelbyville Sectional. They are the same one. Shelbyville and Franklin Central have rotated every other year with this one, but, this year being FC's turn, they cannot host because of construction or some other issue. Shelbyville couldn't because of some stupid poison ball event. So, Warren Central stepped up to host. Thank you Warren Central. From what I understand, FC does not want to host it anymore. Shelbyville can't host it every year because of the **** punkin chasers. Next year Shelby has it, but not sure after that.

  4. Freshman year, wrestled 1/2 of year, injured didn't get to wrestle in sectionals.

Sophmore year, missed middle of year, injury, came back, injured in last match before sectionals.

Junior year, wrestled full year no injuries, Friday night at Conseco, in awe of where he's at, loses.

Senior year, slight injury, will be back for sectionals, every match on the edge of my seat with a lump in my throat.

Remembering, lots of time, lots of work, lots of sweat, lots of love.

  6. Last year at 160, Shelby Mappes from Center Grove, looks like he is at 171 this year, Dalton Jones from Avon, probably 160 this year, and Mark Meyers from Crown Point, 160 again this year.

I was actually replying to rdrod on who beat who at state last year.
