  1. With all that young Mr. Tsirtsis is doing on the mat, I wonder if maybe we should stop comparing him to his older brother and maybe compare Alex to Jason. Nice job, and congrats.

It's really an unfair comparison.  The two wrestled at different times, in two completely different generations of Indiana wrestling.  For example, Alex had a better record his freshman year, but he never saw (let alone BEAT) anyone like Cashe.  I think that the only time you can really make a fair comparison between the two is after Jason has completed his senior year of college wrestling.

  2. My understanding with most clubs during the freestyle season is that you are on your on at tournaments. Also that thier are different coaches with every club. Some clubs only have 2 or 3 coaches and others have 4 or more. All you need to do is let your coach know that you are coming up on a certain mat and he would be happy to help. Their are alot of parents that have been helping coaches also that can help in this also. ALL TOU NEED TO DO IS ASK.  Everyone knows that the coaches can not make it to all the tournaments thru the state.  Good luck at the tournaments you go to.

Some clubs have only 1 coach... making it all the more harder!  :P

Another option, ask the table help to move ahead in the bouts if your coach is coaching on another mat and you are called.  Most schools are more than happy to do this becauase they understand that a young kid should not be uncoached... he/she won't learn anything that way.  Other schools just want to "get through" the matches (yes, I had table help tell me that very recently) and won't wait.  I refer to these schools as evil.  But just asking doesn't hurt.

  3. Because Pennsylvania has unbelievable talent in their high/middle schools... Iowa does too, but Cael will always have to compete with Brands for kids.  At Penn State, that wouldn't be nearly as big a problem.  With his credentials, he'll have nearly the whole eastern seaboard begging to come wrestle for him.

I think it would be a great move, and I think he should do it.  It would make the Big Eleven even TOUGHER... if that's even fathomable.

  4. Obama, a Southsider, was asked by ESPN's Stuart Scott what would happen if both the Cubs and the White Sox made it to the World Series.

"I would be going,'' Obama said.

"Who would you root for?'' Scott asked.

"Oh, that's easy,'' Obama replied. "White Sox.

"I'm not one of these fair weather fans,'' the junior senator from Illinois and presumptive presidential nominee of the Democratic Party explained. "You go to Wrigley Field, you have a beer, beautiful people up there. People aren't watching the game. It's not serious. White Sox, that's baseball. Southside."

  5. Who cares that is a over rated sport that has all become on who can get pumped up enough and hit the long ball these sports have been taking over buy the old mighty dollar. Sounds like you guy's need to start a baseball dicussion board.
