As many of you know Joe Kieffer of Roncalli High School has been diagnosed with ALL (i.e. Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia). He is progressing well through chemo and physical therapy. We all believe he will beat the disease. Due to the agressive treatment there are significant medical costs and other fiscal impacts to the Kieffer family. On September 24, 2011 there are two fundraisers scheduled. Attached below are activity details.
We are asking for everyone's help. One way for wrestling clubs to help is to send a club t-shirt or other club gear to be entered into a raffle, benefiting the Kieffer family. All contributions and prayers will be appreciated.
If you have a contribution, please contact:

Thanks again.
MULTIPLE FUNDRAISERS FOR JOE KIEFFER ON SEPTEMBER 24
Members of the Roncalli class of 1984 have come together to organize an event to show support for Joe Kieffer and his family. Joe was scheduled to start his senior year at Roncalli on Monday with the rest of the Rebel Class of 2012 but was diagnosed almost a month ago with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia. He currently is in the middle of chemo and physical therapy treatments.
On September 24th, we are coming together as a community to further support Joe and his parents, Kevin and Jenny, who, themselves, have served others for years. (Kevin is a firefighter, EMT and Tactical Team member with the Franklin Fire Department, while Jenny is a Registered Nurse with St. Francis Hospital.) The purpose of the September 24th benefit is not only to provide financial assistance to help cover health care costs, but, as importantly, to gather as one to provide spiritual and emotional support for the entire Kieffer family.
Details for the event are as follows:
? Date: September 24th
? Location: McQ?s
? 6:30 PM: Mass (Fr. Wilmoth)
? 7:30 9:00: Dinner/drinks/raffle drawing
? Raffle cost: $100/ticket per couple includes dinner and beer/wine and 1 raffle entry
? Raffle prizes: 1st - $1,500; 2nd one week stay at Naples, FL condo; 3rd 2011 Indy 500 Month of May package from Panther Racing for 2 (month long garage and pit passes, Suite tickets to Panther Racing Suite on race day, access to Panther Racing hospitability tent during month, meet team drivers and owner)
If you are interested in a ticket(s), making a contribution or seeing how you can otherwise help, please contact Paul Pittman (796-4098) or Jeff Curtis (446-3599). On behalf of Joe and the entire Kieffer family, we humbly thank you for your consideration.
The City of Franklin Fire Department and the FFD Local 3433 Firefighter?s Union is sponsoring a Hog Roast and Charity Ride on September 24 as well. The ride will originate from the Johnson County Fairgrounds (Scott Hall) in Franklin with registration from 8:00 9:30 AM and ride starting at 10:00 AM. The Hog Roast/luncheon will start at noon at Scott Hall. This charity ride is ?all in? (any vehicle motorcycle, car, van, etc.) with an entry fee of $15 for the driver and $10 for a passenger. This includes the Hog Roast luncheon. Folks not interested in participating in the charity ride are invited to join us for the Hog Roast luncheon for just $5/plate. There will be a 50/50 raffle and silent auction items.
How can you help?
? Pray for the complete healing of Joe?s body and for strength, peace and enduring faith for him, his mom and dad and brothers, Josh and Justin.
? Attend one of more of the events: Charity Ride, Hog Roast luncheon, mass, dinner
? Purchase a raffle ticket(s)
? Make a contribution (checks payable to ?Joe Kieffer Revocable Trust?).
? Spread the word and/or sell tickets to friends and family.
? Send a card/note to Joe (360 Maxwell Road, Indianapolis 46217).

The following link is to an article on Coach Blubaugh's tragic accident in today's electronic version of The Oklahoman:
-
I remember in the early 1990's dropping our oldest son off at Coach Blubaugh's camp. When we approached the camp, after fording a creek, there was Coach playing with a pet racoon. I wasn't sure my wife was going to allow son to stay. He learned so much that week, both wrestling and work ethic.
Coach, you will sorely missed.

I think Mike Smitson, Plainfield, was there too.

Great work. Just a brief observation: Roncalli finished the season 21 - 1.

2 - 1

I'm doing some analyses based upon your formula for 18 wrestlers. I have no conclusions yet, but when I take a look at an undefeated wrestler whose opponents have only scored 17 points (half way through the season), the conclusion that the wrestler has won some close matches and had gotten lucky doesn't stand up. That said, I like the approach. My analyses includes using your formula with powers from 1 to 10. I'll post when I've completed the work. It could be interesting.
By the way the Pythagorean Theorem uses the power of 2..................LOL
Prayers for the Kappes family.
