  1. Also Nokhodi and some of the other guys not going to Croatia will head to Egypt most likely for that ranking series.
  2. Not determined yet, but given I have been uww doc at the past two World Champs in Oslo and Belgrade, I may give it a miss. I will likely be there for some portion of it though. And yes, having spoke to some of the guys in camp today actually, apparently Kamran says he never wants to wrestle at 86kg again, which kind of ruins any chance of seeing him vs Taylor in any capacity. His ideal wrestling weight now is 92kg, but he wants to try and bulk up to 97kg for Paris, he sees the Snyder loss as nothing but a strength and size issue, so he wants to bulk, he thinks he beats him if they are the same size. My opinion is that I agree that in theory that may be true, but i don't think they can properly bulk him up in that time frame to the size he needs to be, he is a 86kg wrestler..... He's never weighed more than 91kg he told me in Belgrade. Snyder walks about 105-110kg. And Iran at 97kg ain't no walk in the park... I also think that one of the big things that may not be getting mentioned is that he simply doesn't want to wrestle Hassan. He's in between a rock and a hard place. I get it, if 92kg was an Olympic weight he wouldn't be doing this.
  3. Hassan at his peak techs Zahid imo. I have no idea what shape he is in or where he is at mentally at the moment with everything going on. But even a below par Hassan should win.
  4. I also think Hassan wins, but it is still an interesting new bout. Always the same old faces at 86kg. The Americans rate Zahid highly too.
  5. USA are sending Cox and Snyder to Croatia Ranking Series so will be good to potentially see Azarpira get tested against top guys like that. I'm high on the kid. No DT unsurprisingly, but Zahid will be at 86kg so will be cool to see him vs Yazdani.
  6. Olympic qualifying year. My typo. Albeit things really start to heat up in the latter half of the year. But everyone will have their minds on Paris
  7. It's the first ranking series in an Olympic year. The other 3 being in Egypt, Kyrgyzstan and Hungary. The latter 2 won't be until the summer. The first 2 in Feb. With it being one of the first of the year and in Europe I feel there will be a strong show. Also 2kg weigh in allowance. With the idea of wrestlers wrestling at the weight they would in Worlds/Olympics dor these events.
  8. A good bunch of the Iranian fs team are going to be at the first ranking series in Croatia in Feb. Reza atri, Younes Emami, Savadkouhi, Hasan Yazdani, Azarpira, Zare
  9. Toughest match up for him stylistically in the world imo. Tough match. Hope he gets him in Worlds prior to Olympics to test him out
  10. Don't you talk about my bro like that lol. That's his koobideh strength kicking in lol. Haha. I actually find it remarkable how well he does given his size compared to some of these guys.
  11. Really nice coming into the Olympics in less than 2 years that we have some good wrestlers at 74 with Emami and potentially Savadkouhi/Nokhodi who look like contenders. The other Iranian wrestlers always tell me Goleij is super solid and strong, they even feel when wrestling him that due to his core strength he has great chances of beating the best at 97kg. But he had that episode of making himself lose to Snyder in the last seconds in Oslo, some moments like this, and I don't think he beats Mohammadian until Mohammadian is way over the hill. Iran is solid at 97kg. Goleij I feel just needs some work on his psychology more than anything else, Azarpira is a future stud. Mohammadian despite everything is still at the moment a phenomenal wrestler, and Shabani who we haven't seen for a while is a monster too. They just need to focus on their individual weaknesses and refine to get the top spot.
  12. Oh Zare also beat the Mongolian 10-4. He would have won in Belgrade too I'm sure.
  13. I mean all 3 of his big wins are 3 of the top 74kg guys, gold and silver Olympic medalists at Tokyo and JB! I can't imagine Younes beating them. But it is a big question if Savakouhi can make and have same results at 74kg. Surely that must be on his and the technical team's mind though.
  14. Damn I forgot about Kadigmagomedov. Definitely massive wins for Savadkouhi and more to the point-the confidence that he is going to get from this is massive. Savadkouhi is a very technical good wrestler-he trains under Reza Yazdani. I think him and the team will be looking to see if he can compete at 74kg now, if that is possible. If he can make the weight and it not affect his performance I think he would be favourite for the spot.
  15. I think by 2024 it is going to be really tough between the 2. I could see Masoumi edging him potentially, wouldn't surprise me, but let's see.
  16. I love Amir Hossein. As objective as I can possibly be. I feel he is the no1 heavyweight in the world right now. He made 1 stupid mistake and gave the match away to Taha in Belgrade. Otherwise he would be a 2 time world champ.
  17. Zare is definitely not a big heavyweight. I think Taha had a good 14kg on him when they faced off in Belgrade. I don't think that conversation has ever taken place. Nor do I think he would want to go to 97kg. Don't think it is impossible but he would have to go on a strict regimen.
  18. Same. It's a dilemma for sure. I also think Hassan beats Kamran. Especially in a one off match. But would be interesting if he can do so in a 2 out of 3 heat or if Kamran can get one a it goes to a third.
  19. They are amicable. But both know that they are each others biggest rival domestically.
  20. I know what you mean. I was kind of thinking that too for a whole. To be honest Kamran and many of the team were as well, but this was the test. Kamran didn't feel anything other than a size issue when facing Kyle. He gave up 13kg by match time. I think 5-0 with the way he wrestled against Olympic Gold and World champion with that weight disadvantage is commendable. But he will.be at 86kg
  21. He can't bulk up anymore really. After that test with Snyder, it was to see how he would do. He will definitely now go to 86kg. Kamran's goal isn't to just medal. He wants gold. He feels he can beat Taylor. I would like to see a 2 out of 3 between him and Hassan. I think he stays at 92kg until next year though.
