  1. From what I hear it will be 2 at each weight which is standard for world cups. I will say what I know 55 -Dad Marz. Unsure of 2nd 60-Mohsennejad. Pouya Naserpour 63. Saied esmaeli. Iman mohammadi 67 sohrabi. Hojat rezaei 72 Amir abdi. Rostami. 77 habibolahi. Mokhtari 82 mahmudi. Mohamadpiani 87 chobani. Badkan 97 abeididarzi. Mehdi bali. 130 hedayati and yousefi. It's pretty much the B team. We may see riza vs yousefi.
  2. Greco World Cup in Baku will have some notable names missing for Iran. No Saravi, no Geraei brothers, no Mirzazadeh.
  3. Glad he managed to make it through to the final. Didn't catch the match. But don't be too concerned if he isn't looking physically at his peak, as I said before he wasn't meant to be peaking now. A day now of rest between his final gold match. He will be good to go and look more fresh tomorrow. Would be more concerned if the final was today.
  4. For the first point you also have to remember that he wasn't meant to compete here. But rather 4-5 weeks ago. The programme he was on to peak physically was meant to be for then and not now, so I am not surprised if he is slightly lower than peak physical condition and had a bit of ring rust from his last comp (Feb 2022). And I can't really think of many in his weight that do the suplexes, single, double, crotch lifts from par terre so much in one match the way he does, very high energy moves. This is his style, some wrestlers are happy to score one takedown and just be ultra strong defensively and win matches 2-0, he may likely with his coaches need to adapt if he goes to 74 and faces guys like Chamizo and such. But on the other hand he may not and a tech is a tech and if his style is working and he wrestles the way he wants then I say great, and it is encouraging from a viewer point to have wrestlers like this that actually make wrestling enjoyable to watch for the casual too.
  5. Amir Mohammad is a high energy dynamic wrestler that likes to pull off big offensive moves. There is a difference to getting tired and being gassed. With his style he is always going to get tired, cause he pulls off big suplexes, shoots a bunch of times landing TDs and it is fine to get tired but he doesn't have the gas tank issues he did at 65. Trust me if he was gassed or had poor conditioning he wouldn't have just teched Kazakhstan and Japan back to back scoring 32 points in two matches. A gassed wrestler cannot do that. He doesn't have bad defense either, his style is just so offensive that he is always going to concede some points. A tech is a tech though.
  6. I agree with @Amir.Sol. I think stylistically Zare would have been a nightmare match for Gable. But Tokyo was Zare at one of his worst conditions and Gable at his best so it may have been a close one.
  7. Zare will be 23 and Masoumi 20 come Paris. Zare won't be handing over any reigns without a fight. We will have a real domestic heavyweight battle for the next 10 years!
  8. My own personal opinion is that despite the silly mistake which essentially cost him becoming a 2x World Champion in Belgrade, I still consider Zare the best 125kg in the world right now. It is an interesting one to think if Masoumi will be able to overtake him, I think the ceiling is high and it could happen. I like both guys. But I am much closer with Amir Hossein. Let's see what happens!
  9. Much better. And more high quality. When Ghasemi and Hadi were at their peak, neither were really considered the man internationally. I think come Paris the two best heavyweights in the world will be these two Iranians.
  10. Masoumi will win Gold, he is a stud, I'd be shocked if he doesn't. I genuinely feel that in the next few years Zare will have a a bigger challenge in him domestically more so than internationally. I had 125 92 79 and 70 as locks for gold. Let's see. Anything can happen though. Look at Yousefi in greco.
  11. My friend who is UWW staff and at the draw just messaged me.
  12. I hate there are only 6 weights out of 10 for Olympics. At least 8 would be so much better. But it is not a UWW decision. It is unfortunately due to the IOC viewing wrestling to be not getting the viewership compared to other sports, particularly greco. Greco-Roman is hanging on by the skin of its teeth to stay in the Olympics. I believe it is likely for 28 they will replace greco for beach wrestling-remember this to quote me on it either way.
  13. I think MIrzazadeh will be very much in the mix.
  14. Where are all those guys with the whole stance of "Yousefi is better than Mirzazadeh internationally"?
