Geraei with a wild end to the tournament, picks up Bronze. No major conditioning issues today, in contrast to yesterday where he almost died in the Japan match and looked exhausted from the first minute against Jafarov. Maybe he didn't make the weight well. He needs to be able to push the pace harder in the first period because if he doesn't get the first passivity point he is vulnerable to losing big. Nonetheless, his record since 2020/21 is very good and if he can improve his conditioning for Paris I still think he has a shot at Gold. The UWW only opposes politicisation of sport when Iran does it The biggest problem is probably women wrestling. Realistically the only solution would be for Iran to host it with Qatar or Turkey etc, Iran can host FS and GR and the women can wrestle in Qatar/Turkey/etc

The last time Iran hosted Worlds (FS) was 2002. There's no doubt Iran has the best wrestling fans in the world and holding Worlds in Iran would be huge for the sport.
