  1. This is Amouzad's signature move and the move Ochir caught him with today
  2. Bajrang is finished, watch the Yamaguchi match and Mamedov and Musukaev matches, almost everything comes from the underhook
  3. Thanks, I just watched it Amouzad has only one move and it was very easy for high level opponents to adapt to it (Mamedov Musukaev and now even Ochir). Ochir even did Amouzad's signature move to him lol that's scary for Amouzad. He has very limited offence, everything relies on the underhook recently, he is young enough to improve To get taken down in one thing but to be gut wrenched like that multiple times to be teched is another, I don't know WTF happened there.
  4. is there a video from Amouzad's match vs Ochir?
  5. Well that's not what I wanted to see. Amouzad teched by his own game
  6. Is it a big match? Goleij will obviously lose lol
  7. Saravi and Mirzazadeh are in the finals Mirzazadeh has the tougher final but both should win Gold FS starts tomorrow
  8. The question was about how many world titles a wrestler has won at heavyweight, not about world titles at other weights or olympic titles But still Medved is a good answer since he won 4 world golds at heavyweight (albeit one when the HW weight class was 97kg+)
  9. Our best two GR guys wrestle tomorrow I was only disappointed by Dalkhani today, I don't expect anything from the others. We don't have a clear guy at 60kg now, I was hoping Dalkhani would lead the pack
  10. Medved won 3 world golds at 97kg and 4 world golds at heavyweight
  11. I would rather Zare wins Olympic Gold, that is more special Geno is clearly declining, Zare has Taha's number and Taha isn't going to get any better at his age (33 next month). Other than Gable returning I don't think anyone can stop Zare at the moment. Even if Gable does return, he hasn't been as active as Zare for a while and I would favour Zare to beat him. Maybe Tazhudinov will move to 125kg eventually, he is huge. But I don't think he will do it yet.
  12. I don't think so, although quite a few won 3 + some Olympic golds
  13. Kamran wrestled Yazdani 4-5 times over many years, trying to beat him. Masoumi is 18-19 years old and already considering giving up. Not the same
  14. What is there to have a conversation about? To make the team you have to be the best in Iran, just like in every country. He's basically saying he doesn't think he can beat Zare.
  15. Very well said. I don't think anyone is supporting Atri for fun lol.
  16. Hard disagree. The country and nation always comes first. That's what the Olympics is about, and what makes winning a medal so special; you win it for your nation, not just for yourself. Although I of course agree it is a huge shame that we might not otherwise see Ghasempour or Masoumi being able to compete at Worlds/Olympics.
  17. WTF. Please no. I had a feeling this would happen because Masoumi is too good not to be competing at the highest level, and there's a chance he won't get a look in with Zare around for the next 10+ years too. He should back himself to beat Zare, though, if he does that he will make the team. But if he has to leave Iran and represent another country against Iran, please not Azerbaijan lol
  18. Entry list for Asian Games: https://uww.org/article/hangzhou-asian-games-2022-entry-list Notable entrants for each weight class: 57kg - Aman, Hasegawa, Uulu and Khari 65kg - Bajrang, Yamaguchi, Ochir, Osmonov, Rakhmonov and Amouzad 74kg - no one of note and Emami 86kg - Sharipov, Punia, Dauletbekov, Shapiev and Yazdani 97kg - Tazhudinov, Ishiguro, Yergali, Ibragimov and Goleij 125kg - Munkhtur, Rakhimov, Batirmurzaev, Buheerdun (the Chinese guy who pinned Masoumi) and Zare 60kg - Sharshenbekov, Bakhramov and Dalkhani 67kg - Ryu, Shermakhanbet (the Kazakh who always beats MR Geraei), Endo and Sohrabi 77kg - Makhmudov and Kaviani 87kg - no one of note and Alizadeh 97kg - Assakalov and Saravi 130kg - Kim, Nasimov and Mirzazadeh Good level of competition at 65kg 86kg 97kg and 125kg. Greco is a bit weaker but 60-77 have elite wrestlers (no depth though). Having seen this, I change my prediction to 4 Golds in FS (Amouzad, Emami, Yazdani and Zare) and 3 Golds in GR (Alizadeh, Saravi and Mirzazadeh). I am most interested in seeing Dalkhani vs Sharshenbekov, huge statement before Paris if he can beat the guy who just became world champ.
  19. That's unfortunate. I am getting the feeling they want to send Goleij to Paris. Azarpira should not have agreed to go to 92kg in Worlds, he really hurt his stock by losing like that to Zahid Valencia of all people.
  20. Why not? He lost a close match to a good Japanese guy who won Bronze and pushed Makhmudov hard. Ironically Ali Geraei has a win over Makhmudov (albeit from around 4 years ago). We don't have a good replacement for him. Kaviani has totally flopped on the senior scene. Can Mohmadi move down?
  21. Khateri is an absolute beast. I am hoping he will be our guy at 57kg. Khateri-Amouzad-Khalili-Ghasempour-Azarpira-Zare is my dream for 2028.
  22. I forgot about Mohmadi. It's an Olympic year so if he wanted to go up I am surprised he didn't do it yet. AFAIK he has never wrestled at 87kg. But he would be a good replacement for Alizadeh for 2028 given how young he is (21 I think).
  23. Slightly under par in FS, mostly due to bad luck with draws in 65kg, 74kg, 79kg and 97kg. And very bad performances at 61kg and 92kg. About at par in GR, although Mohammadi and Sohrabi both going 0-1 was very disappointing and the Geraei brothers also underperformed. 57 - Valizadeh/Sarlak/Atri/Khari/Khorramdel 65 - Amouzad/Shakeri 74 - Emami/Amir Yazdani/Savadkouhi/Firouzpour/Rezaei/Aghaei 86 - Yazdani 97 - Goleij/Azarpira/Firouzpour/Ghasempour/Azimi/Babaloo 125 - Zare/Masoumi 60 - Dalkhani/Nejati/Mohsennejad/Dadmarz/Mohammadi/Nasserpour/Dehbozorgi 67 - MR Geraei/Sohrabi 77 - MA Geraei/Kaviani/Mokhtari/Abdevali 87 - Alizadeh/Taheri/Nouri/Choubani/Mohmadi 97 - Saravi/Fallah 130 - Mirzazadeh/Yousefi/Hedayati Bold is who I think will go to Paris. Should win 3 medals in FS and 3 medals in GR.
  24. @Amir.Sol first posted this a few days ago: FS: 57: Ebrahim Khari 65: Rahman Amouzad 74: Younes Emami 86: Hassan Yazdani 97: Amirali Azarpira 125: Amirhossein Zare GR: 60: Meysam Dalkhani 67: MR Geraei 77: Amin Kaviyani 87: Naser Alizadeh 97: Hadi Saravi 130: Amin Mirzazadeh Poor MR Geraei has to make 67kg again, I hope he can rest and recover enough by then lol Interestingly, Tazhudinov is listed as representing Bahrain at 97kg here. Maybe we will see Tazhudinov vs Azarpira
