Laughlin of SB Adams pinned Mishawaka's Chadwick tonight at 113, fall time of 37 seconds. Olsen and Hesch didn't meet tonight; Hesch was up at 138. Derda was at 132 for Mishawaka.

Maybe someone will bust out the tuxedo t-shirt because it says I want to be formal, but I'm here to party.
This is awesome. ;D

Why not try to coax M'ville to host in a different venue? VU's gym is very large and just 20 minutes or so east of the high school. I know for that specific location scheduling, price, etc could be an issue, but why not explore those options?
The idea of hosting it at Notre Dame was also thrown around. But yet again, price and scheduling would be HUGE issues.

Support and help many schools may not have; especially if their wrestling team isn't known for being a force to reckon with season after season.

Last year, Ferdig was at 132, but was out for sectionals due to an injury
-
Some people on our team were talking about other places to have it. We came up with great ideas, it's just the problem of someone actually WANTING to host it. For example, Adams has the perfect gym for this, with seating up to almost 2000, and enough floor space for 4 mats. But no one is willing to have the burden of organizing it.

Is south bend the same time as Merrillville? How long is your drive? Not sure what else they can do unless like someone else suggested they run 4 mats during the semis and wrestle backs. Them everyone would complain about bring crowded for a extra round.
South Bend IS an hour ahead of Merrillville, and it's about an hour and a half drive. For people from Merrillville and surrounding areas, it didn't seem very late. But for anyone who had to cross time zones, it was an extremely long day. Things did run very smoothly, and there aren't many other ways they could try to save time, but 4 mats for the semis could do nothing but help the time issue. Though I definitely understand why people complain about being crowded.

We didn't stay for the last three weight classes in the finals, and we still didn't get home until 11:45. Ridiculous. Hopefully Merrillville will address this problem next year.

Sam Ferdig was sitting right by us Awesome Kid man i hope he makes a nice run in Indy Classy for Sure
All of us at Adams do, too! Thanks for your support

Sam Ferdig handled a couple of tough calls that went against him with a lot of class. I became a much bigger fan of his this weekend
Sam tries to handle EVERYTHING with class: win or lose. When he came back to the team in the bleachers, we were all disappointed and upset, and he was up there making everyone laugh and crackin jokes. Nothing could break that kid as long as HE is satisfied with how he wrestles.

Unknown,
"Dream on?!" Do you never learn?
I definitely agree. Stasiak could surprise a lot of people
-
I went to the Rochester regional yesterday; although there was only one wrestler who acted in an unsportsmanlike manner, I agree. There was a wrestler who gave the middle finger to the whole gym after he lost. The team lost a point, but it was still very disrespectful and dishonorable.

Penn got 11 through
-
I'm sure Trevor is going pretty hard too... And he has numerous state-ranked guys around his weight to push him.
Haha I know he is. He's harassed by Harper everyday for his matches against Sam. All that can be safely said right now is that it will definitely be another good match.
-
I know Ferdig is a good wrestler but Penn is going to have that mentality this weekend that Regionals is the most important meet and I can see Manspeaker bringing his A game but it will be a good one. On Stasiak, he is on a roll right now and I do not see anyone getting in his way.
I definitely agree with you that Stasiak is in the right mindset and on the right path; even he knows this. I definitely can say that every single time Ferdig and Manspeaker wrestle, I flip out. Because they're evenly matched, and honestly it's anyone's win. But I still have to go with Ferdig. Sam's been going hard at practices because he knows Trevor could beat him at any time. His guard is up.

106: Sinkovics (MISH)
113: Davis (PENN)
120: Munoz (WAR)
126: Warner (SBR)
132: Hartman (SBC)
138: Forte (MISH)
145: Macri (MISH)
152: Manspeaker (PENN)
160: Hack (SBR)
170: Kolat (SBW)
182: Hurford (CC)
195: Stasiak (PENN)
220: Eby (MISH)
285: Carr (SBC)
Sam Ferdig is 2-0 against Manspeaker. Unless Trevor steps up his game, he's gonna keep losing these matches by 1 or 2 points. And I'm close to Stasiak, but if he thinks he's gonna get away with another head lock to win regionals (especially if he wrestles Allen in the finals, again), he's probably wrong. But I do think he has this.
-
Kenan and Kali Boyd at 220 and 285 (SB Adams) both placed second at Mishawaka sectional
-
What a crappy way to end the season. Must have hit a growth spurt or sumthin.
He had to have! I had never heard of him until Al Smith this year.
-
I heard avila had grade issue.
Yep, too low of a gpa. Made the class much easier for Allen and Stasiak

Olsen v Hesch is definitely a toss up, as they have yet to meet up this year. The whole class is one large toss up as far as the top 4 go.
