  1. Maybe Indiana could have Y2 head up a committee to demand that the US have divisions for smaller states to compete against small states and large population states against other large population states. This is purely in good humor (maybe bad humor because I might be the only one to find it funny).

  2. Jim,

According to the letter of the rule there is no violation, but there is more to it than that which is the spirit of the rule.

Tell me this, you have a rule in your classroom that says no gum allowed.  Joey brings in M&M?s and starts munching on them.  What do you do?  It technically isn?t gum, but you surely don?t want everyone bringing in food.  He is not violating the rule, just finding a way around it.

Another example, you assign a paper to the students and tell them it is a solo project and they cannot work on it with another student in the class.  However Joey decides to work on it with his friend who had your class two years ago.  What do you do?  He isn?t violating the rule, just finding a way around it.

    Send Joey to law school

  3. I am obviously a big Cody Phillips fan, always have been and will continue to be! I understand people favoring their favorite wrestler but are we really going to argue about Indiana wrestlers and their future? Cody will have a great career under J-Rob and I too like Former Wrestler think that he could be a national champion at the D1 level. I hope Ayersman has a great career at Purdue.

  4. I disagree with number 2 because the first takedown is the most important points of the match. With that being said, why should the most important takedown/points be worth less than other takedowns. I would be more likely to go for the first takedown being worth 3 and the rest 2. Ultimately I am against proposed rule change 2, 3, and 6.

Rule changes 1, 4, and 5 seem like great ideas to me.

All is just my opinion of course.

  5. There is a difference between being HURT and being INJURED -- Know the difference.....

hurt   /hɜrt/ Show Spelled [hurt] Show IPA verb, hurt, hurt?ing,  noun, adjective

    verb (used with object)

    1. to cause bodily injury to; injure: He was badly hurt in the accident.

    2. to cause bodily pain to or in: The wound still hurts him.

    3. to damage or decrease the efficiency of (a material object) by striking, rough use, improper care, etc.: Moths can't hurt this suit because it's mothproof. Dirty oil can hurt a car's engine.

    4. to affect adversely; harm: to hurt one's reputation; It wouldn't hurt the lawn if you watered it more often.

    5. to cause mental pain to; offend or grieve: She hurt his feelings by not asking him to the party.

    injury

    ? n  , pl  -ries

    1.  physical damage or hurt

    2.  a specific instance of this: a leg injury

    3.  harm done to a reputation

    4.  law  a violation or infringement of another person's rights that causes him harm and is actionable at law

    5.  an obsolete word for insult

Since count the lights wants people to know the differences between injury and hurt, I figured I would show the definitions. Please ignore number 1 under both  definitions because they clearly mean different things regardless of what the inaccurate dictionaries state.

  6. This is a really sensitive subject and I'm going to get destroyed for what I'm about to post but I believe it makes a single class state like indiana look weak by having a female qualify for individual state.  Other "wrestling" states (I believe iowa?) have had a female qualify for state but I'm pretty sure it was in the smallest class.  States like alaska have had female champs but I wouldn't put their wrestling on par with a midwestern state.  Sorry, but this is my opinion.  I'll probably be approaching caliboy/demoguy/wc182dad for the most boos by nightfall.

I think when Kayla is representing USA it will not be a surprise that she was Indiana's first female state qualifier. I don't think it weakens our State tournament but it certainly helps her resume! I like the fact that she accomplished this in a one class state because now she will not have the people saying it only happened because she was in the "small school" division. She should and will receive the credit she deserves. All is just my opinion of course.

  7. it wasnt a bad post...just pointing something out

No, sorry my intention was not to call out the post, I would agree that I would have expected a larger win margin in the opening round. Simply joking. (hints the wink face)

  8. Cody Phillips won 6-1 but was definitely frustrated by Randall's height and length. In the end, the victory is all that matters, but that was not a dominant performance by a kid who has historically been pretty dominant

I think Phillips read your post Dingo  ;)

  9. If you knew what u were talkin about Id give it to ya but ya dont so bail. Even yer 25 yearold seems to have his hands full...Bahahahahaha!

Interesting strategy to claim someone doesn't know what they are talking about and then put down a false fact.
