  1.

Is this what you are looking for?

Bracketing will involve a hybrid pool/bracket format as follows:
--4 pools of 3 teams per class
--A higher seed, a lower seed, and an unseeded/random team will be in each pool
--Pool higher seed and lower seed will meet in the third match of the pool round, to create a virtual quarterfinal match in most pools.
--The pool winners advance to the semi-finals. Second place teams in the pools advance to the 5th-8th semi-finals. Pool 3rd place teams get one more match against another 3rd place team.

The schedule, though not finalized, will look something like this.
9am-2pm: Pools on 12 mats, 1 pool per mat, wrestling 3 duals directly through with no breaks:
--Match 1: higher seed vs. unseeded
--Match 2: lower seed vs. unseeded
--Match 3: higher seed vs. lower seed
    --2:30pm: Championship semi-finals, 5-8 semi-finals on 4 mats per class
--5pm: 3rd place, 5th place, and 2 consolation matches from pool 3rd place finishers on 4 mats per class
--7:30pm: Championship finals on 3 mats total

That's exactly what I was looking for. Thank you very much.

  2. Hart from Lebanon at 220. He moved up from 195 last season and has looked great this offseason. Also 220 from Zionsville. Matt? I apologize for not remembering his last name. Saw this kid at the Wabash camp and IMO he his going to make some serious waves this season.

  3. try adding indianamat.com to the list of sites in compatibility view settings. not sure that will fix the issue but it works with a lot of other sites that don't play nice with IE 8

btw, the new layout looks great. i especially like the way it works on a mobile device. great job

  4. i just don't understand how a lopsided match at conference equates to an entire conference being noncompetitive. and saying that manns wrestles down to his competition because he had a match against a guy who may not be ranked but has beaten very quality opponents is a bit ridiculous.

195, 220, and HW are all pretty much the same in that you have a few guys at the top who are clearly better than the rest. does that mean that the kids who aren't #1-3 should just stay home when sectionals start? hell, lets just skip sectionals, regionals, and semi-state for the big guys and have them all meet at Bankers Life.

  5. Would have to disagree, the Sagamore is NOT very competitive. 195 in particular. Also look around the conference, how do people get tech'd in the finals? Borta might be good, but to destroy the way he did says alot about the noncompetitiveness of that weight class.

How does a Conference that in your words "is NOT very competitive" manage to send THREE schools to team state? Also, I'm sure that SAC isn't the only conference where a very good wrestler manages to tech someone in the finals. Also, how many kids from this "NOT very competitive" conference manage to advance out of the Regional every year?

  6. At Sagamore Conference

    113- #16 Welliever by fall

120- #7 Hudkins by pin over a tough NM McCoy

126- Molloy 3-1 OT over #9 Chandler Moore

138- #12 Smith by decision over tough SM Highfield

145- #14 Vancamp by decision (not very impressive, might have been sick idk)

    152- #10 Brown by major

160- #3 Borta by pin (not much competition, but dominant regardless)

170- #1 McCloskey by major... pride comes before the fall is all I can say.. very disprespectful/arrogant

182- #15 Morales by d over NM Boone

195- #10 Manns by d (did not look dominant at all, from what I've seen he really wrestles to the level of his competition)

#10 Manns may not have looked dominant because as you said he wrestles to the level of his competition. In this case his competition is no slouch.

  7. Is it an 8 man bracket? Or is it a bracket with 8 seeded wrestlers? Either way, you usually blind draw the unseeded wrestlers and forfeits into the bracket. You usually only seed 4 wrestlers for an 8 man bracket, so therefore the other lines are drawn.

thank you for the explanation. btw, it's an 8 man bracket and they have everyone seeded 1-8 It shows that the #1 seed is wrestling the #8 and that #4 vs #5. #5 is the forfeit

  8. this has nothing to due with the original post in this thread but since it involves "seeds" I thought it best to ask here.

if there is an 8 man seeded bracket with one forfeit what is used to determine who gets the free match?
